Communications Test
« on: September 14, 2005, 09:43:38 AM »
I have a three question communicaton test.   This all came up in about 24 hours.  To make it easy I will make it multiple choice.

Question 1.   You are at Virginia Beach and decide to go out and listen to some music.  You find a nice club and discussing it with her, decide you are going to drink beers.  You order two Bud lights.   The waitress brings them.  The music is good.  You enjoy the beers and your glasses are now empty.   You look at her and say do you want to stay here or do you want to go elsewhere.  She says "She likes it there."  You ask her what she wants and she says  "She wants another beer."

These are the choice of answers.  Remember the wrong answer gets you an angry Russian gal.

a.  You call the waitress and order two more beers.

b.  You call the waitress and ask for the check.

c.  You order a couple of Yinglings.

I will bet not too many get this answer.   I bet most take the first choice.  I did and had a Russian gal who was mad at me for a while.   Read what she said closely.   We might have worded it, I want a different beer but with Russian gals you have to consder all possible answers.  c was the correct answer.

2.   This one is an easy one.   She looks at you and says "I eated all my cigarettes.  What is the proper course of action.

a.  Call an ambulance and have her stomach pumped.

b.  That might take too long.  Throw her on the ground and put your finger down her throat.

c.  Buy her another pack.

Oh, I told you this was an easy one.  c of course.

3.  We will do this one in reverse.   I will give you the answer and you give me the question I asked her to get the answer.     You are at Colonial Williamsburg and you ask her something.   The answer she gave was    " I drunk in the bathroom."

Was the question.

a.  What was that big bang in there?

b.  What took you so long?

c.  Would you like a bottle of water?

Another easy one.  c of course.   You never know what will come out of the mouths of one of these gals.   Good luck in your communicatons.

Keep them coming Turbo!  We all can learn from this... or at least learn to ask more questions...  the beer one was tough!

I missed the beer one, too!

and given the fact that Russains drink bottled water, I would have missed the last one, also.  I guess she had a bottle with her and downed it in the bathroom? Don't think she drank from the sink in the bathroom...

Actually, I guessed that was exactly what she did: drank from the sink.  What I would consider "Private Economic Behavior" - things done out of sight to save money.

I don't think she had a bottle with her.   I refilled one of my water bottles from a water fountain and she thought that was the neatest idea she had ever seen.   She gets a little shocked at the price of a bottle of water in some of the places that are rip off's anyway.

Turbo,

Very funny post!  Communication is difficult and will remain difficult for some time too.  Lena spoke pretty good English when she arrived, but we had many a misunderstanding.  It wasn't until we both realized that we were getting angry at each other over nothing but miscommunication that we made a pact.  If either one of us was pissed off at the other, first find out if the other person actually ment what we heard.  Don't worry, it only takes 3 or 4 years for that to smooth out.  Now if you want to talk about the perception of rude behavior projected by RW, that takes even more time! :D  Add these woes to the regular man/woman miscommunication, it does become interesting.  Good luck.
