Looks like a few folks might benefit from a refresher. What follows are our Guidelines for Civil Discourse. Suggest you all read, and follow, these guidelines.

Quote
  • Recognize a person’s right to advocate ideas that are different from your own
  • Discuss policies, issues and ideas, not people - and especially not individual RWD members
  • Disagree without being disagreeable
  • Use civil and helpful, not hurtful language (such as name-calling)
  • Respectfully respond to differing points of view
  • When unsure of what another poster means by what they have written, ask for clarification
  • Realize that what you write and what people understand you have written may be different. Be patient and explain yourself again if other posters misinterpret your meaning - particularly here at RWD where members have a variety of native languages, yet are doing their best to communicate in the common language of American English
  • Recognize that sometimes people can and must agree to disagree
  • If you are not sure what you are about to say is civil, find another way to say it or let it go
  • Reliance on labels for groups of people is often the first step toward the negative. Whenever possible, avoid them. They rarely add to the quality of any discussion
  • Put yourself in the other person's shoes as best as possible, to see things from a different perspective - theirs
  • Give an additional benefit of doubt to a person whose first language is not English

Cheerio!

- Dan

Your wrong on all accounts Scott, many people also agree with my opinion.  I see your mind is still closed and you live in your own little world of "I'm always right and can never be wrong" mantality.  You're hopeless and I pity your wife.

When someone's opinion doesn't agree with yours, you say they should be ignored and have nothing to offer.  Now that is closed minded and childish.

Okay, let's take a look at this:  You present an opinion as if it is the absolute truth based on a few examples and very limited personal experience with no statistical backup of any kind.  Others respond with facts, statistics and far more experience than you have and unless I accept your opinion and ignore the facts and the opinions of the experienced members here who have proven to actually know what they are talking about than I am brainless?

enot, you don't know my wife.  One of the most classless things one can do is to bring up another's wife or other family members into a disagreement.  It didn't take you long to show your lack of class.

By the way, it's spelled "prefer" not "prefur".

Well your not very bright if you think an opinion can be the absolute truth.

I provided facts based on my observations and what other men told me.  The others provided worthless stats that had nothig to do with dituation.

Once again your not too bright.  I pity your wife because she has you as a husband, not because there is something wrong with her.  I'm not attacking her, I'm attacking you Mr. Clueless.

By the way, it's spelled Scott in Crimea not ScottinCrimea.
Enot, if you persist in this insulting vein, you will be put in Moderated status.
Just stating my opinion!  You don't have to agree with it.

As you mentioned it ....your - in this context, should be you're as in you are...

Enot, as someone who has been moderated - don't paint yourself into a corner. It's far better to be able to reply to opinions you disagree with.

More name calling?  How adult of you.  As others have mentioned, resorting to name calling is a strong indication that someone has lost the debate and has nothing else to resort to. Did you even read the Guidelines for Civil Discourse?

Keep going. All you are doing is solidifying my opinion of you.  I have nothing further to add and will move on to more important things.

OK, I am jumping to this mess a bit late.. but i have a theory.. some of you will laugh.. others might be offended..  :)

OK, so lets suppose a guy with limited means, who lives in a relatively low income part of the USA, who has a nominal education at best, decides he wants to find a woman in the FSU because he is tired of the limited choices he has in Mayberry.  So, without making a fool of himself he decides he has better odds in a country where the average income level, educational standards and individual future expectations are lower than they are in a place like Moscow or Kiev.  He realizes that he is not likely to impress a high level Moscow babe with his 'suthun draawl' and two room shack in the woods.  So, then he goes about his search and in the meantime ends up on a message board trying to push his particular form of wisdom on everyone elses experiences in a trollish way... hmmm.....

I just found this reply to my TR. It reads like Sculpto is picking on me. Sculpto why were you picking on me because I'm from the great state of Georgia?

LOL No problem. I just cant break that suthun draawl thing. I have been in places where the drawl was certainly an advantage, but Kiev wasnt one of them. Just my charm, humor, good looks and warm personality landed me my beautiful wife of almost 6 years. I certainly dont envy anyone undertaking this whole international dating endeavor. I'm happy I found my wife rather quick. The challenge of the chase had it's moments though I must say.
