I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, (I just discovered it), but this is the neatest thing since sliced bread.

http://earth.google.com/

Then download the app.  Sat images from just about everywhere.  I can even see the house where I lived as a small boy in Dallas, and we located the wife's apartment building in Moscow.

I've been having some fun with this one.

Yep - it is WAY cool! Resolution of addresses in the FSU is lacking - but I guess that isn't too suprising considering.

Right....amazing!  I discovered this last week when I got my new Gmail account...what a tool!

Google rocks :)

I can see some great memories just around the corner.....I am sure Irena & Basil will really like this one.... :D

Both became Citizens in Nov. and Basil will be sitting out two years in  community collage until he is old enough to go away to University ....  Still aceing everything except English and going great with his  music....too smart & too good looking...gotta be a sin to be both :)

Well, we moved 17 mi east on I70 so now we are Jayhawkers! It has been  a good move and we can still be in Denver in just a few hours....

I wish you all the best through this Holiday season and the coming year.

Chelyabinsk isn't on! Not in any great detail anyway!

Also for Mac heads here their is a beta for OSX.

It's scary how much info their is about you Amercans on the internet; for a laugh I searched for my mate (UK expat living in Waltham 'City' nr Boston) and I discovered:

1. He owed $437 in Utility 'charges'

2. A list of names and addresses of known felons and paedos living in his area

3. Who he bought his house off, for how much, through which Realtor.

4. The construction of his house, along with a floorplan.

5. A list of incidents in the area and their nature for which the police had been out for.

It totally freaked him out! And me, I'd rather be somewhat more anonymous, but with the UK talking about bringing in ID cards we're gonna catch up. Nadia still can't quite believe I don't really have any 'papers' other than my passport which I spend three days hunting for everytime I need to go abroad......

Orwell was right....

I lived in Bowden near Altringham on the old Roman Road, in 1952-54 and  then moved to Wellingbourgh, Nortants for an additional year....

Great people those Brits!  :)

I tried to bring up Kherson and it won't let me get down to the street  level.  Hopefully they will update it as time goes by.

Ste

Ste and others.  Where are you getting such info.  I plugged my name into Google and got zero for me.  Get a bunch of references to my first name, more references to my last name, most of them historical persons, etc.

Tried the same for a couple of friends here in USA and got zero for them also.

Albert, checking for you now, can only do for the City of Waltham, which has since been Mac-knobbled so I can't drill down as far lest I succumb to Mr Gates's wishes and use IE for Mac.....

Here's a random address regarding property tax which looks like our Council Tax in UK!

http://www.city.waltham.ma.us/governweb/DEFAULT.ASP?GovSkinID=WAL&P=DET&PID=11811&TM=R0660070010&PD=TAX#StartDetail

From there you should be able to drill down to the sewerpipe connections, the floorplans etc, as I said, this site is now Mac-ist so I can't!

Here's the City's Sex Offender List, u have to click through to agree to be over 18 or summert.....

http://www.city.waltham.ma.us/wpdweb/WalthamPDWeb/SexOffenders/acceptance.htm

Gives pics and names and addresses so you can call round and set fire to them.

Here's Waltham's most wanted!

http://www.city.waltham.ma.us/wpdweb/WalthamPDWeb/Most%20Wanted/index1.htm

Arrest log:

http://www.city.waltham.ma.us/wpdweb/WalthamPDWeb/Arrests/Arrest%20Log%20October%202005.html

To be fair you have to know roughly your victims, err, sorry friends address to get this info.

I could have got his parking ticket citations too if I could remember his licence plate number....

I really wanna really dissappear, this stuff scares me. Maybe I have a well dodgy past!
