Does anyone have any ideas for acquiring reasonable health insurance for my Fiance and her 5 year-old child when they arrive on the K-1?  I have quality health care via my employer, but she can not be added until we would be married.  How have others navigated the period of  time between arrival and marriage in terms of health care?    Thanks

Most of what you'll find will be catstrophic insurance -- will cover accidents, injuries, and sudden illnesses.  But then, it's likely your group plan at work will hace a waiting period (some up to 3 years!) which will refuse to pay for any pre-existing condition.
