Well I did it, I only hope the medical exam will not be necessary.

I enclosed the immunization checklist and receipt from her medical exam 3 months ago.

Now the waiting begins.

Can anyone tell me about the next step for permanent residency? I have heard it is to be done in two years of the Adjustment of Status.

Will we ever be free of the endless paperwork?

And to think the government has a paper reduction act. What a joke.

The package I sent weighed about 3 pounds.

Congratulations Clyde,   Many moons ago we both sent our K-1 applicaton on the exact same day.   I actually moved ahead of you for a while becase of the RFE you got.   Now you have left me in the dust in the process.   I hope it all goes well and since you are moving at a faster pace than I am, I have someone to tap for info when I get to that point.

The paperwork is a part of dealing with the government.   Just think off all the fees you are generatiing, just so she can be a productive citizen and work hard and pay her taxes.

 Sometime you'll get a request to make an appointment for "biometrics" (fingerprints) and sometime after that (if you've applied for the work authorization) your get her card in the mail (and if you've applied for advance parole) and your the the advance parole document in the mail and sometime after that you'll get (I hope, as we are still waiting on this one) you'll get the adjustment of status interview date set.

Silly Boy... don't you know that there will never be an end to paperwork!?!
