Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from me and my fiancee in Moscow Russia.

This is the first time in my life I'm spending Christmas and New Years out of the USA. It's a little weird that here in Moscow tomorrow it's just another normal day and all these Christmas trees and decorations here are for the New Year holiday. They even have Santa plastered everywhere.
Natasha and I have been out buying "New Years" gifts for our familes. It snowed about 4 inches here last night so at least I will get a white Christmas.

This year we will be doing the Norwegian Christmas thing (this evening), a British Christmas thing (tomorrow morning) and we fly back to Russia on the 29th in time to join the New Years celebrations and to officially announce our engagement to her family.

VWRW and I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very happy and successful New Year. This is my first Christmas spent in someplace warm. VWRW and I are in Key West for a vacation. I always thought I knew what a Christmas tree looked like but perhaps when I get back I will post a photo of a "real" Christmas tree.

I wish everyone the best as you gather with friends and family and celebrate the spirit of Christmas. This Christmas is very special to me as it is my new family's first Christmas in America (and their first Christmas).

Yep, and actually in a really round about way..... Toronto to New York JFK.... JFK to Helsinki.... Helsinki to Moscow. The longest layover is only 1.5 hours. Then an 8 hour layover between landing in Moscow and my flight to Kirov. I'll probably need the 8 hours to get from Sheremetyevo to Vnukovo Airport by cab anyhow!

Good luck to you! Anything involving Aeroflot requires asking for things to go right. I myself have a 5 hour layover at SVO-2 on my way home. Anything over two hours at either of those airports usually makes me feel like hanging myself or running in to traffic, so let's hope I don't lose my mind!

Have a great New Year over in the Motherland. It is the very first New Year I am unable to fly to Saint-Petersburg and will be meeting it in Florida, which is still better than freezing Minnesota. I envy you, guys! In a good way, it's always so great to be in Russia for the New Years! Russian New Year is the best! Trip is so much worth it.
