Consider this though - do you not see there is some value in the contrast of what ST writes, and the responses he receives here?

I think it has proven interesting to witness how our members respond to these posts. Most of our members find them distasteful and are uninterested. A few find them offensive, and have made it clear they are offended.

My take on it is that the contrast of aberrant posts, taken in the context of the broader 'mainstream' provides useful learnings. Is there anything of value in these posts? I think there is - if for no other reason that to alert everyone to the existence of some folks who have a completely different agenda than the majority of our members.

Having said that, there is clearly a line to be drawn at some point - and it *will* be drawn if things get out of hand. Have we crossed that line yet?

We all know pay for sex, strip clubs, sex tourists, sexual deviants, are all out there. And its really not an issue of what is offensive to me. It would take a lot to offend me. Famine and hunger are probably two examples of issues that might offend me. Reading about some jerk offs fantasy doesn't. It would just be a shame if looking for a real or serious relationship with a FSU woman got blended in with garbage. There are sites where he can post about mongering or whatever. They'll love him.

If I post a thread on the chicago cubs in a basketball forum they'll either find an odds and ends forum to post it in or (if they don't have one) just delete it. This guy's sex tourist issues have nothing to do with scammers and suspect agencies so I don't think he could complain about being censored if you told him to take a hike.

Maybe the reason I have felt pretty tolerant of this is that ST does not seem to be actively promoting. To this point, it is a recount of his experiences, and he seems to not be promoting it for others. It would be entirely different if he were posting links to prostitution or escort sources, or to encourage others to follow his path. It was VERY close to the line with his age of consent link. I considered jumping in at that point, but did not - for several reasons. BTW - on the age of consent bit - readers would be wise to consider this is one area where the US has enforced its extra-territorial prosecutorial capacity - AND - enlisted other countries to do similarly. In other words, it would be folly to use that reference as being any sort of 'guide' as to what you can get away with.

One more thing - we are probably in little danger of this theme become entrenched here at RWD. Since our inception, we've had the occasional member who posts about this fringe, but they consistently are rebutted by our members.

Maybe I'm just a little jumpy because of previous trip reports. Got a poster who claims just to be dating multiple women on a trip who actually just goes to the FSU for sex and work. And another guy who might be a sex tourist or is just inexperienced with women or dense in general. So when I see this it just made me think damn some of these threads are going downhill. But to be fair there is another poster who went nuts because tasteful photos were posted in a thread SO it might just be a few posters that are off kilter.

ST might not like this but its time to break out that old college psych class. I never liked it because I felt it just made excuses for "strange tendencies" in behavior. If you spend your time online trying to spend $1000 for nude pictures of Yuri's jimmy I'd say its pretty simple to infer a few things about you. ST probably has trouble developing relationships. I'm not even talking about with chicks. Instead of playing cards with the guys on friday nights he's writting his next love letter to Yuri because he wants some Russian nudes. I'm pretty sure the marboro man never told any kids to smoke while he was chilling on those billboards. He's definiately marketing his product here. He asked for money. He's in to underage girls (which is really jacked up).

Let me start by describing an image going through my head.
A couple of years ago, I watched a TV movie about the travels of Gulliver. The very good actor Ted Danson played Gulliver and I can never forget the scene where he stood - hands and feet shackled - in the court, telling about the extraordinary lands he visited, small people who climbed on his shoulder and were the size of his index finger. Ted was so convincing, I had no doubt in my mind whatsoever his character REALLY visited those places and those places REALLY existed. Yet the court audience was shouting angrily at him, accusing him of mad heretics and outright insanity, because - they firmly believed - what he was describing *CAN NOT* be true.

So, there I was, one night, sitting on my comfortable sofa, along with some friends, watching the TV, after we had a few rounds of poker, waiting for the late night movie to start.
I have cable service with over 65 channels, some of them digital.

I - and my friends - are all outdoors enthusiasts. We love camping, hiking and fishing.

Much to my disappointment, the TV channel's host announced a horror movie for the night. The host proceeded to read a ratings warnings that said something along the lines of This movie is for adults only, contains gore and violence scenes and can be offensive to some viewers.

I continued to watch. No-one in the audience asked to switch channel or got-up and left.

The movie was about an outdoorsman turned serial killer. He hid in the forest and ambushed young couples. The creep would watch them - secretly - as they made love, then would hack them to death, still naked.

I got upset. I voiced my opposition to my fellow friends who were still watching with me.

Still, no-one asked to switch channel or got-up and left.

After the first killing scene, with the sick pervert hacking his victim with a machette, I was so upset, I started pounding furiously on the table in front of my sofa and yelled : "We, outdoorsmen, we do not use machettes to kill people... this is absolutely ridiculous. Who is this f*^&king actor portraying?".

I continued to watch. No-one in the audience asked to switch channel or got-up and left.

Before the movie ended, I was all up in arms, I had already looked-up the mailing address of the head of that TV station that broadcast that sick movie, and I started writing him a long letter.

I will also write to the Federal Communications Commission. This is absolutely unfair to me and to all my fellow outdoorsmen. It is an OUTRAGE AND HAS GOT TO STOP IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Just for curiosity, I stopped right now and looked a bit around RWD. There are billions of web sites on the Internet. We all know that of course. Maybe a few hundred thousands dedicated to Russian dating. Most of those Russian Dating sites have a forum for members to talk, discuss and tell each other their stories. RWD is only one of those sites (from its domain name though, you can deduce that its only focus is those discussions). On RWD's homepage, there are 13 menu items, "Forum" being the 4th one from the left. You click on "Forum" and you get a list of TWENTY-FOUR Forums. Each forum contains hundreds of threads and thousands of indivdual posts. I wonder, of the 772 views curently registered for my thread, how many represent UNIQUE visitors? Am I reaching ALL RWD members? I certainly hope so. Am I reaching EVERY Internet surfer who googles the words "sex tourist" or "Russian Scammer"? I can only hope and pray.

Still waiting for that call from a book publisher...

So, there I was, one day, a few years ago, when I was actively invloved with Russian women, sitting at my computer, reading a trip report (you know I am addicted to the Internet, among other things)...
You know... those reports where a fellow American gets off his butt and jets over to Russia Land to meet the lady he has been corresponding with for a few months. Let me start by saying that I applaud those who actually make the trip. Americans are NOT known to be globetrotters or expert travelers by any stretch of imagination. So for someone from the deep corners of Alabama, who's never been outside his state, to get on an airplane and fly to Sheremetyevo, I can only imagine the culture shock. They do NOt speak English in Russia, and that - in by itself - is his first cultural shock. He steps out of the airport and quickly realizes he is - whether he likes it or not - a marked man. Taxi drivers are jumping at him offering a ride to downtown for $100. And from this moment on, EVERYONE he meets will be trying to scam him one way or another. From the market vendor who will sell him a kilogram of tomatoes at ten times the price they sell for to Russians, to the translator he has hired for $10/hour, 5 to 10 times the hourly rate Russians are paid for a normal job, to EVEN HIS RW he is visiting... she booked a private apartment for the two of them to stay at for the 10 days duration of his visit; she gets $200 from him to pay the rent of the apartment, actually gives only $75 to the landlord and keeps $125 to herself (I have no concrete evidence, but I strongly suspect this is what a girl I was visiting in 2006 did - and I have good reasons for that suspicion).

Anyway, back to the Trip Report I was reading. On the third day of his visit - his first time ever outside the US - his RW comes into his room and sits at his bed.
You see... so far, they've been sleeping in separate rooms. So far, he had not made a move on her. So far, all they did was hold hands. Long story short, he still does NOT make a move and ends-up leaving Russia Land without getting any. "I did not want to take advantage of, or mislead her", "what if things did not work-out between us"? He would explain his turning her down.

WOWHOWOW... wait a second now... the girl comes to your room, offers herself to you and you send her back to her room after a kiss on the cheeks? WTF is wrong with this picture???

I'll tell you what's wrong...

RELIGION and cultural differences. That's what's wrong.

Religion - as you already know - was BANNED in Russia in Soviet times. Religion today has very little influence in today's Russia, and so to think the girl looks at pre-marital sex as a sin is the first sign of cultural differences.

At the other side of the spectrum, here's a well-meaning, well-behaving American man with a culture steeped in Religion. Not only is he mesmerized by this beautiful RW, so much so that he can't imagine she'll sleep with him so easily, but he's also got strong moral values. Forget worrying about STD's and AIDS which are rampant in Russia, he can always use a condom.
Centuries of absurd, misleading and manipulative church teachings have instilled in his sub-conscience the notion that sex is DIRTY and that it is one man taking advantage of a woman's body. A woman shall keep herself "pure" until she is married. There goes the word "pure", implying the impurity... indeed the dirtiness of sex.

There he comes from a country where the official currency has "IN GOD WE TRUST" imprinted on each and every banknote, visiting a Russian lady who's been raised in a religious-less society. We all know how much more liberated Europeans are in their attitude towards nudity and sex.

I read that part in the trip report and was screaming at him in my head: WTF are you thinking? You think she's still a virgin? She's probably lost her virginity at age 13, been with at least 10 men before you, the last being the one who picked her up from the nightclub she goes to every Saturday night with her girlfriends. You think she'll be heartbroken if "things do not work-out" after you bang her? Don't worry my man, she'll be over you after she shows you some tears at the airport and you disappear in the crowd. Have you left behind a diamond ring and some cash for her English lessons? Those will certainly help mend her heart... REAL quick.

We are talking about a population that's been through massacres, war and famine probably like no other population on Earth. We are talking about people whose hearts are ruthless and hard-as-stone. First, you need to develop some respect for your fellow man.  Just because a man refuses to have sex is no reason to belittle him. 

If it is his religion, so be it.  Besides, it may have nothing to do with religion.  Sex can cloud one's analysis of a woman, especially if the man considers sex as something very special. 

You clearly do not consider sex special, treating it only as a hormonal response, or perhaps just an urge in the category of evacuating your bowels.  That makes you a small man.  Do not expect "atta boys" here from anyone other than small men.

Wanted to break my confessions train of thought and talk a bit about scammer emails I keep receiving constantly. I have my profile posted on many dating web sites, many of them have my email address publicly published and so I receive a ton of emails from scammers.

BTW, I chose to post my confessions in the Scammers forum because I believe scamming is not limited to only emails you receive, but could also be perpetrated by women you actually meet in person. Scamming takes many forms...

So, anyway, have you heard the story of the Scammers couple who made 1.5 Million Dollars scamming hapless western Men? They were caught and prosecuted by Russian Police after an Australian victim wrote a letter to then-President Putin. This is a MUST-READ story:

I have been corresponding with Irina Gulhova now for a few weeks. No canned pre-written letters. Everyone of her emails is writen specifically to me and she answered every question I had. There were some red flags, but I was already hooked on her beautiful blue eyes.
After receiving her very first email, I wrote to her asking her to print my email on a piece of paper and to ask someone to take a picture of her holding the paper and to email me the picture.

She did!


I believed she was real and I was beyond myself in joy. Finally I had found a real beautiful girl who was in love with me after only one week of writing to each other.

Long story short, after I offered to meet her in Moscow, she replied that it would be better if she came to me in "my country" to save me the trouble. She wrote to me her mailing address, cell phone number and instructions on how to send her the money by Western Union. I agreed to everything and decided to send her the $800 for visa and ticket. She is so, so, so fine.

I wrote:
"Ira, I was not sure what to do with the Western Union papers they gave me. I
had a receipt and a large piece of paper with a "Control Number" printed on
it. Is the Control Number the same thing as MTCN??
I took everything to FEDEX Courrier compay office and sent you everything.
This way it will be easier for you. You will have all the Western Union
documents they gave me.
FEDEX told me they will deliver everything to you Wednesday (tomorrow for
you?) at the street address you gave me sometime after 6 PM. They may call
you first (before arriving at your home address) to confirm that you will be
home at that time.

send me an email or call me by phone."

Strangely enough, today I received an angry email from her:

make  all  as  you  want??? Why you to not ask me about anything?? For

you  worry.  You  should  write  to me the full name. You have left to
yourself  any  documents  from the western Union? Or you have sent the
original? oh as it is silly. Mike I think that papers will come to you
back.  ok  I shall wait from them a bell. As it is possible to be such
reckless. You have thought that you send the important papers? And you
have decided to send it any courier? oh! It is top of my shock. And if
this  courier  will  open  a  parcel? What if he will take hold of the
information?  Or  it  will  be gone? You have thought before to send a

Now I feel so guilty. My reckless act caused my beloved Irina to be so upset. I am going to kill myself, I can't live without her.

I have a couple of questions.  They are not intended to disparage you but to understand what makes you tick.  Since you are in the mood to confess, I would appreciate your honest answers.

When you first started, you had a relationship with Yana.  The motivations of such women in the difficult economic times of 2000-2001 should have been readily transparent.    So what compelled you to continue the relationship with her after you first had sex and to spend a lot of money on her?  And when Yana stopped writing you, what compelled you to repeat the pursuit with Vika and other RW, also for sex?

3.   Did you enjoy playing the role of a white knight in shining armor? 

4.   You were in your early 40s yet mentioned ED.  Did the remote possibility that your RW may have liked you help you to achieve an erection, something you could not achieve with hookers in America or with the few fat AW who would date you? 

5.   Because FSUW did not necessarily practice safe sex in those times, was your motivation not having to cover your willy?

Then there is the time you spend writing known scammers (Katy, Anna, Irina).  What’s your motivation for such a waste of time? For placing their photos on the Internet?
