Looks like a lively forum
« on: January 06, 2009, 08:08:52 AM »
Hello,

I have been around a few forums over the years. I have been married to my Siberian Princess for 4+1/2 years now! We live in the SE US. Don't know how much I can contribute about traveling now because we haven't been back since my wife came here.  :o We had actually planned on going this spring but her mother told her we might be better to wait because of all the crap goin on between Russia and the US. We have tried to no avail to talk her mother into visiting but she won't budge! My wife didn't really get the bug bad to go visit until last year. So we will see.

LOL I already see there are some varied opinions here. I guess I can add to the mix! :P

Welcome, boaterguy!

You will have much to contribute in the "married section."

My MIL also refused to come.  That is until she found out a granddaughter was coming, now she is rushing her paper! LOL

What kind of boat do you have?

We won'r be having any kids so that won't work for us with the MIL.

We have a Sunsation 288 and a Pachanga 22!

PS Good wishes with the addition to your family!

Boaterguy, where from Siberia is your Princess?  Strange to hear you were recommended not to visit Russia in spring. I recently went there, in September and will be going again in February.  Name the time when there was no "crap going on between Russia and the US." Welcome to the forum, I hope I will get a chance to meet you in some discussions.

Thanks for the welcome Tamara. My wife is from Novosibirsk. I didn't think we would have a problem. This advice was given while the Georgia crap was going on. That along with the escalating tensions over the missle shield had her mother worrying! My wife and her mother are very cautious! So my wife decided to wait!

Some of our Russian friends put off travelling home to Russia to visit family during the Georgia conflict because they believed that with all the anti-Russian sentiment flying around, their visas would somehow be revoked and they would not be allowed back in the US. And there's no dissuading people who subscribe to the rumor mill  :cluebat:

Welcome to RWD, by the way!

Thanks for the welcome! My concern has always been the opposite. I always have that worry in the back of my head that Russia may decide to not let their ex-pats leave when they come back for a visit. They are having a serious decline in population for various reasons.

Welcome Boaterguy.

My wife (Marina) is from Omsk.

You definitely need to get back to Novosibirsk sometime soon!

Marina and I have been back to Omsk twice since our marriage.

Welcome boaterguy,

Maybe you've seen me before? Flying by you in my Checkmate  8)  ;)
Reporter: Any comment on the bar incident where it was reported that you threw a man out a window?
Charles Barkley: My only regret was that the bar didn't have a second floor.

The Round Mound of Rebound was later acquitted on all criminal charges.

LOL - my number one goal. Find a woman that doesn't mind a little "scream and fly".

My checkmate pulsare weights around 1400 lbs and is equiped with 300hp outboard. About as fast as you'd want to go on the lake I'm around unfortunately. I know another guy with a tunnel (twin outboard) that will run well into triple digits. No point in racing that guy.  :cluebat:

Here in Tampa Bay, you better be careful where you let it fly.  Sandbars galore!

They are talking lake boats.  I just got a 120 HP, 22' Sea Arc.  Planes in almost 4" water and is a center console.  It is a nice all around boat.  Texoma gets a little rough out there, but sigh it is not the ocean.

Save $25 lb for striped bass if you can buy it anymore.  One of 5 lakes they can spawn in.
