Has anyone heard of www.cheapoair.com?  Their tickets to Russia are 2/3 the price of the same flights from Travelocity and Expedia.  I just want to know that this is a reputable company before I buy from them.

Hello Al_C.

Never heard of the company, but if I may offer some advice.

If you decide to buy a ticket. Checkout the final payment page carefully.

Some of these "offbeat" companies pile on the taxes and fees on the final checkout page, when you get ready to pay.

Good luck.

Al, good to see you here again. I googled Cheapoair Feedback (and stayed away from their own site) as well as
Cheapoair Complaints. Pretty alarming stuff I read. Then again, none of these experiences are my own.

Have you tried Travelocity's open-date methos of finding the best deal? Are you flexible?
We've found that departing on or before Aprl 2 will save you considerable money.

Also, check out Russian American Consulting right in Manhattan. We HAVE bought from them twice
with no problems and realized good fares. 1-877-268-2677  www.russianconsulting.com

Where are you heading, Al?

This is one of the best airfare travel tools out there:

http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch/

Use it to find the best prices, travel days, layovers, etc.  Then book directly on the airlines web site.

No surprises.

GOB, you could not have called that shot any better.  Cheapoair lowballed the fare without taxes and fees.  By the time they added the fees and taxes on, it was the same price as anybody else.

Thanks, all, for the referrals to other sources.  The pricing is all about the same, so I might as well use known quantities like Expedia or Travelocity.

For those who remember me from this past summer and the RW I met in Amsterdam, that deal went south, but this is not the place to talk about that.  I will start a thread in a more appropriate place, including the concerns I have about my next prospect.

I have found Expedia to be consistent in terms of quantity and wide search selection.  Saving a few bucks, even a hundred or so isn't so important to me since the headaches of the marginal spots have their own price to be paid.

Of course Travelocity and Orbitz are great too and a few of the search engines which scan multiple sites but once your profile is set with preferences, cards, frequent flyer numbers and such, it has a value all its own.
Pick and choose carefully among the advice offered and consider the source carefully. PM, Skype or email if you care to chat or discuss
