Travel Visa Requirements for Anyone Traveling to Any Country
« on: January 23, 2005, 10:54:21 AM »
Often guys want to meet an FSU lady in a country outside the FSU. Favorites seem to be Turkey, Cypress, and Egypt to name a few. Some guys even ask about FSU ladies travelling to the Bahamas for a meeting.

Delta Airlines has a VERY good website where you can learn all about which visa is required depending on one's citizenship, residency permit, and destination.

You can find Delta's website here:
http://www.delta.com/travel/trav_serv/intl_travel/timatic/index.jsp

Feel free to ask here for any needed clarifications.

And for Russian of Ukrainian woman, very cheap flight at :

http://www.malev.hu/bp/eng/index.asp

Malev Hungarian airline... Odessa - JFK , go and back, all tax for 495 euro...

No info, only very low price...

From Ukraine : Mr Yushchenko promised that he would not subordinate Kiev's interests to those of other countries. "Ukraine will not be a buffer zone or a battleground for anyone," he said. "We are prepared to respect the interests of other states. But for me and for you, national interests are above all else."

It is true... use Ukrainian National airline ( http://www.aerosvit.com/ ) for easy visa ... see about ukrainian tourist visa :

A letter of invitation from a Ukrainian or American tourist agency or a confirmation from a Ukrainian hotel is necessary to qualify for a tourist visa.

Citizens of the USA, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, or citizens of the European Union countries can be qualified for a tourist visa when they submit a round-trip ticket issued by the Ukrainian National Airlines.

I met my girl at the Sheraton in Antayla Turkey.  Reasonable room rates, great beach, very romantic place.  Inexpensive flights from Kiev and Moscow.
The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.  michelangelo

I think Cypress is now a member of EU, so girls from FSU can no longer get visas to that locaion.  At least that was what we were told..

Your info are no update and not full

Cyprus is a island cut in two... the south is in the EU ... and the North is Turkisch... For the south, FSU woman can use schengen visa ... and for the North Turkish visa...

INFO FROM EU SITE

Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean (9.251 sq. km), situated in its eastern part. It is at the crossroads between Europe, Asia and Africa and plays a bridge building role.

The island's main economic activities are banking, tourism, craft exports and merchant shipping. Over the years the economy gradually developed into a modern economy, with dynamic services, industrial and agricultural sectors and advanced physical and social infrastructure.

The Republic of Cyprus gained its independence from Britain in 1960 foreseeing a bi-communal structure i.e. peaceful existence of both communities side by side. In 1963, however, political crisis and inter-communal violence broke out, which resulted in 1974 in a de facto partition of the island. Although efforts have been made to settle the Cyprus issue under the auspices of the UN until now, the country still remains divided. However the ban on crossing to and from the south has been lifted on 23 April 2003 for both Turkish and Greek Cypriots. In the first eight days thereafter approximately 90.000 Greek Cypriots and 30.000 Turkish Cypriots took advantage of this situation crossing the line between the north and the south in a general sentiment of joy. No incidents were reported, on the contrary a warm welcome was given to the visiting Greek Cypriots by Turkish Cypriots and to the visiting Turkish Cypriots by the Greek Cypriots.

The Accession negotiations were opened with Cyprus in 1998. They were concluded in December 2002.

After ratification of the Accession Treaty, Cyprus will become a member of the European Union.

I love the delta link.  That is worth it's weight in gold.  Now, thanks to this site and you guys, that I know i can take my lady to Jamaica or the Domincan Repblic without the hastle of a Visa and we can enjoy a little sunshine and time together does anyone have a suggestion of an airline or travel agent website for getting her there?

Bruno had a helpful post about the hungarian airline but they don't show Moscow as a departure choice and don't head anywhere helpful.   Anyone have any good suggestons.

I just spent some time poking around on Delta's site seeing what places they say that I can go for a vacation with my gal and not need a visa for her or be able to just get one on arrival for a small fee.

I didn't worry about places that didn't have much appeal but here is the list I came up with.

Barbados

Costa Rica,

Domican Republic

Egypt

Jamaica,

Sri Lanka

Thailand

Turkey

Now, for plan a trip, i use a other site : http://www.passager.com/vols.html ... they have around 1 million flight in database... from and to a lot of city in the world, with several compagny... make a search and choice your flight...

I don't use these site for reservation ... only for search the best trip and price... when i have make my choice, i spring to the site from the flight compagny selected for the detail : tax, fee, insurance, ...

And my information was from 26 january 2005, from the officiale website from EU...

Now, the FSU woman can only go to the Turkish side without visa... and this go stay the same until Turkie become a part of EU ( several year ).

Your problem was the hotel reservation on the bad side of the island...  but you have not inform about this in your previous post...

And Cyprus north and Cyprus south are from two different country... One Grieks and the other Turkish... One with visa, the other without...

Delta airline is a American compagny and American have always problem with geographics... specialy outside US...

Delta has a new or revised webpage.  But I hunted down the new visa link.  Here it is :
http://www.delta.com/planning_reservations/plan_flight/international_travel_information/visa_passport_information/index.jsp

But--for us mac users--the entire website had problems with  macs.. :(

You know how long I looked around for which places a RW could visit?  lol..  Anybody checked on a trip to mexico?  I thought mazatlan might be nice and it "appears" a RW could travel there.  However it gives no indication of any difficulties in obtaining a visa and tourist/fmt form with a consular stamp.  Or what a definition of sufficient funds would be.

Thanks for the great info!  Quote from the site on requirements is below

National RUSSIAN FEDERATION (RU)
Destination MEXICO (MX)

 MEXICO (MX)

Passport required.

Visa and Tourist Card/FMT form with consular stamp required.

Visa is valid for up to 90 days after date of issue and good
for 1 entry only. Visa in expired passport is not valid.

However, Tourist Card/FMT with consular stamp not required if
holding:
- multiple entry 5 year tourist visa; or

- multiple entry 3 year business visa.

Cash deposit may be required (refundable upon departure).

Minors under 14 years of age, travelling alone, should be met
by an adult.

Visitor must hold:
- ticket and documents required for onward/return journey and

- sufficient funds.

Non-compliance with entry regulations will result in fines for

carrier vaying from USD 850.- to a maximum of USD 1800.-, and
deportation of passenger to country of origin at carrier's

expense.
