RWGlobe/Club 10
« on: February 06, 2009, 11:34:05 AM »
Hello Guys:  I wanted you to be aware of "professional writers/translators" at these 2 Agencies. They are in it for just the money.
     I had sent an intro letter to Tatiana (Mariupol) at the RWGlobe Agency. What I received made me suspcious that it was written by the Agency translator and not Tatiana. The pattern becomes obvious with statements like "read my next letter" or "I will be glad to receive more of your letters".  I have seen this and other indications at other Agencies.  Also, none of my initial questions were answered.  In "her" second letter, I did receive a phone number which I called with an interpreter and it was not Tatiana.
     So, I have registered a complaint with the Agency.  Has anyone else had experience with these Agencies ?  They are both run by the same manager.

IIRC, they are the descendants of Confidential Connections, which also had an unsavoury reputation ;).

Warren,

Pardon me for asking, but with all the (many free) alternatives out there, why deal with agencies at all?

The fiction writing machines are geared to feeding the demand of those 99% that never get on a plane.. They are not there to work with the 1% that do - it's simply not their job nor business model.

It looks like another set of sites from the people who operate Globaladies, East West Match, and European Connections, agencies with a similar reputation as Confidential Connections.

Agencies?  That is an on-going debate here at RWD.  Warren, certainly bad agencies like the ones you inquired about should be avoided, period.

But I can argue that good agencies are safer to use than free personals, because dating agencies have screening and accountability in place.   That's why I generally advise newbies to use an agency.

The Serenity Prayer:

..grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

It seems that at least when it comes to agencies, the 'wisdom' is quite missing....

What's the true answer for guys like Wayne?  Who are those mysterious 'good' agencies?

Heard of a couple over time, but seems they went down the tubes.. either not profitable or caved in to the need to service the 99% first and foremost.

I submit that the true 'Agency' cannot exist.. they simply cannot cover the true costs of serving that 1%.

We laugh a bit at those agencies that might charge something like 20 or 50+K to act as a matchmaker, but guess what... they are probably right on the spot.

Those seeking agencies want one thing, but are only willing to pay for the 'other'.

Hi Guys:  I was wrong about RWGlobe/Club 10 !  They are a fine Agency and are part of the Unona International group.
      I had complained to them about Tatiana not be "real" and her letters written by the Agency translator.  The owner Agency investigated and proved to me that she was real and that all the letters I received from her were written by her.  I received several photos of Tatiana's passport ! (I read Russian). They explained by saying Tatiana had dictated the letters over the phone to the translator.  I also received her second phone number and an additional letter from the owner Agency.
       So, if suspicious about a lady, complain to the Agency and see what type of response you get.

Most girls like letters read over the phone.  So that seems normal.

But just because they have photos of a passport does not mean anything.  You have the phone number call and jump on a plane.

I just looked at the RWGlobe profiles.  Noticed two women whom I have met.

One dropped out of the MOB scene over 5 years ago and moved in with a RM.  Another has the wrong age (she is a few years older).  Photos for both are old.

This does not mean that your woman is not real.  However, be careful.  These "pay as you go" sites can be dangerous.  Get her phone number and call her direct without going through the agency.

If you read Russian, I suggest that you try the free dating sites.

I did not find Club 10.

Warren, they are not a "fine" agency.  They are a horrible agency.  Look at these two posts:

Don't waste time and money.   Why allow their corrupt business to exist?  Move on, and choose a good agency or do it yourself with free online dating sites.

Warren, I completely agree with Kievstar.  Passport pictures do not mean anything.  One can find all different kinds of fake documents including passports sold on the streets and anybody can buy them.  You have the phone number, so do not loose your opportunity and call!  Talk with Tatiana.  Try out some free dating sites as well.  Even if Tatiana turns out to be real, it's always safe to have a couple other options when you fly meet them in-person.

Guys: (Continuing) So I started writing to her through her agency - Yelena in Mariupol. I am experienced and the first reply looked suspicious. So, I complained to the lead Agency that she was not "real".  They did a search and sent me an email copy of her passport and a letter that she sent to the investigator to send to me.  I thought everything was O.K.  So, we started corresponding through her Agency (Yelena).  Her letters were long and filled up to the maximum characters. They appeared mature compared to her age (28 yrs.).  I got her phone number and spoke with her several times with an interpreter. Her voice appeared a little husky but with the Mariupol heavy air pollution, I figured maybe that was causing the raspy voice.
     So, I sent flowers.  The first time no photo was taken because her father (?) told the flower shop that she was in Kiev.  O.K. that is possible.  The second time, I sent flowers, she again avoided the photo telling me later that she had the "flu".  (so, I am out $100 so far).  So, she sent me letters about twice a week.  I responded maybe once every 2 weeks (at $3/letter). The last letter (her 8th) was kind of "wishy washy".  So, it dawned on me that maybe this was a scam by the Agency-Yelena. They could have sent the lead Agency her passport and the letter for delivery to me.  So now I am out $140.
    I will check her home address against the Agency address later to see if it is the same.
    Is anyone going to Mariupol during April - June (2009) and could check out Yelana Agency ?
