You have to put it in the microwave for 20 seconds first Mies.  Then you do not get a sore throat. ;D

i did understand it was a joke, so i can be spared of suffering ))

as for stalking - what you say makes sense. But the line between stalking-nonstalking is dotted. For example i have account at myspace, facebook, gmail blog, and so on. Let's say i correspond with the person via e-mail. The person knows my name so he/she founds me on all those site - because he/she has profiles there too. Would it qualify for stalking? Or it would be stalking if I am unwilling to add this person to my contact lists, and would not be stalking if I am happy to see this person on my contact lists?

I think more than anything "stalking" is when you attack someone with a substance such a celery.  While that can be fun for both parties if done in the right way (fluttering eyebrows wildly) I believe the term is best defined by "unwanted" attention.  Someone following you to myspace, et al, after you have told them to leave you alone.  As far as I understand it, the term really doesn't encompass curiosity, or inquisitive searching for someone, but rather following or tracking someone after being told something like "go away".

The meaning is vague at best and even the legal definitions can be ambiguous.  But the celery definition always stalks true!

BTW, this is only my opinion based on my extensive experience as a cereal killer.  I slay cornflakes, fruitloops, and raisin bran at every opportunity.   8)

Thank you. This was something i did not completely understand in USA. I used to know an American girl from college here in USA who reported to police on boy stalking her and the guy was evicted from university dormitory and put on academic probation. It clearly defends the girl, but sometimes - knowing the girl - i think that maybe the "stalking" term is abused by some people.

You know, this is the only real gripe I have with American women (and it isn't all.. just that select highly annoying few I guess).  As far as I can remember, this is the first time I have ever made a negative comment about our women here.  Though it's probably the vocal minority, far too many of them like to play the victim role to garner attention. "Oh, he's stalking me!"  Look at me! Look at ME!  ME ME ME attention! attention!! ME! ME! ---  I'm fat because my daddy sad some bad things to me! Waaha waaah...

I don't mean to down play those real victims of stalking which is a psychological nightmare, but I swear all too often our women seem to really be the criers of "Wolf!"  (an expression from a western fairy tale.. you probably have this one too.. so many of our children's stories are similar to almost identical, perhaps predating our cultures to the common ancestors of yesteryore.. but I digress..)

Once not too long ago I visited the mother of my daughter unannounced with a dozen roses. I tossed the roses up to the second floor balcony, hid behind a tree, called her on my cell phone and told her to look outside. When she saw the roses I swear she came outa that house like it was on fire. Jumped into my arms and expressed to me just how wonderful my little gesture was. Two weeks later I did arrived unannounced because I was in the area, and wanted to see her. She wigged out, sent me away and wrote me a scalding email about feeling like I was stalking her. Needless to say I never did that again. Come to think of it I never bought her flowers again either...

ah the attention whore. I hear ya. I see nothing wrong with calling people out on that stuff. I think with stalking, harrassment and all that it is fairly easy to define. But the man or woman needs to be clear that the attention is 100% unwanted. If a guy winks at you on the street and you never let him know that it is unwanted attention and you don't like it... then it isn't harrassment or stalking or anything else. Even if you tell everyone you know about it just begging for attention. In our culture it is very rarely the guy that plays the victim. Women certainly are verbally abusive and even physically abusive. But you won't see guys reporting it. Its a cultural thing. IMO it gets dangerous when the victim card is abused by attention whores. It makes it that much harder for actual victims to come forward and be believed.

STOP PRESS
Italy No Longer A Stalker's Paradise
On 25th February, 2009 a bill was approved by the Italian Cabinet that makes stalking a criminal offense punishable with a 6-month to 4-year jail sentence - or longer if the 'stalkee' is an ex-partner or a minor, or the stalker a repetitive offender.

First to incur in the wrath of the law was 50 y.o. Stefano Savasta from Milan :(, who served his ex a tea laced with dead-rat bowels :o. After 8th March, arrests have risen to about 2/day.

Someone wryly commented on a law approved previously that makes Italy's top 4 public figures (the Presidents of the Republic, Senate, Chamber of Deputies AND Council of Ministers) non-prosecutable during their tenure of office: cunning Berlusconi is thus safe ;D.

Foreign stalkers are well advised to indulge in their hobby elsewhere ;).

Well Maxx,
I like to joke around but everything you say, AND I MEAN EVERYTHING is spot on.In the last three years since my divorce and subsequent birth of my daughter I have spend the better part of seventy thousand dollars in attorneys fees dealing with court issues related to women. I have learned A LOT. I have been slandered and accused of everything including affiliations with terrorist groups. It has not be easy nor cheap to clear and keep my name clear. But I have learned. I have had three different judges turn down requests for restraining orders five separate times. I kept notes, I took video (270 hours worth), I produced witness (Sheriffs Captians and a Deputy), nurses and other professionals. All testified in my favor. I produced statements from doctors and councilors. I made it easy for the judges to side with me. If left to the letter of the law with just "He Said, She Said" to go by, Judges will tend to fall on the side of caution and issue a restraining order.
But I digress,

Listen to Maxx, he speak heap big truth.

Get legal separation NOW!

File for divorce NOW!

Do NOT go back to this woman!

Step back, emotionally divest yourself from the situation and treat it in a businesslike manner. Your past is messed up, don't let your future be that way too...

Yep. Agreed.  It seems we always have a media fed frenzy which goes in cycles.  Sexual Harassment, Stalking, Parental sexual abuse discovered through regressive memory delving techniques, Dangerous Toys (holy hell, 90% of the toys we had as kids would be on the banned list... klacker balls and lawn darts anyone?)

Just part of the slow spiral decline and stupidity.  Nothing is MY fault.. it's all because of my environment.  Responsibility and ownership of actions are on the path to extinction.  Very absurd really, and sad at the same time.

No personal accountability, is the biggest factor IMO.  You must decide to rise above adversity, not let it rise above you.

Try you best to not let it happen again.

I don't think so, she was studying for a real-estate license and pregnant. Or maybe she was and I am just naive. Probably the latter :)

people say that pregnant women are easily irritated.

if she isn't going to have family with you - it's understandable she doesn't want to have you around, because you cause a stress to her. You aren't just meeting up for a cup of coffee with a friend. With your roses you are implying some sort of romantic feelings even though - if judging from her behavior, - the romantic future isn't planned for 2 (3) of you. So you are just making her nervous while she's pregnant and should stay calm and enjoy only positive emotions. I am sympathetic about your story in general, but not in the case when woman is pregnant with your child and yet you 2 aren't together. It's adult life. You make your choices, and you take responsibility for them.

Ah yes well, there was talk of marriage. It would have been a mistake, we both recognized that. Our daughter is what is important, I have primary residency and her mother has visitation.

i see. maybe the woman still has the feelings for you or unrealized marriage plans, she tries to get rid of them, and she can't do it if you keep seeing her and giving her flowers. It's unlikely she'll get over it easily (if ever).
If she is pregnant now (do you mean again? with a second child?) - then her mood swings can be result of unusual hormones levels - that's common for pregnant women. She might be a bit "cooler" within a year or so.

This one has got to rank up there in the top 5 if not the best ever line in a profile...  I won't post a link to the actual listing or give the site where I found her, but I think it is okay to quote her...

"I want, people who do bad for me, after very much suffer..I want this..bad people need suffer.."

Yeah baby! SUFFER!  ROAST IN HELL! A date with Beelzebub at the Hades Hog Pork Park!

While I agree in theory with her words there... I wonder why on earth she'd feel the need to put that in a profile? Wow...

just remembered a little gem from internet. A line in male profile. (don't remember where i've seen it)

"It is extremely IMPORTANT that our VALUES match because I do NOT want you to get hurt if we clash on our values "

Guys, I hope this wasn's profile of one of forum members  :rolleyes2:

Reeds also grow in the water. Reeds are made from reeds, unless of course it is made of plastic. Then of course it is made from....well plastic :)

Mies, I think she mean to say "I like to read books".. but it came out as "I like wooden breasts".. which just struck me as hilarious with my immature view of life.
