Greetings all, from the Washington DC area:

Some good discussion on this site, thanks to all for your contributions, especially those who maintain and manage the site.

I've been checking out the possibility of marrying a woman from the FSU since about November-I still participate in some American dating sites as well, on an on/off basis. Like many of you what attracted me to FSU women (besides their beauty) was their reputation for still holding more traditional attitudes towards marriage and the role of the man-that they obviously want to be loved and respected, but are still willing to let a man take the lead in the relationship. That was my impression but many of you can give me a reality check on how true that is. The other must have for me is that I'm an older gentleman (49) who still prefers a woman who maintains her figure and I'm having a difficult time finding many candidates here-the women I'm running into close to my age maintain themselves well above the neck, but tend let their bodies go-and I guess that goes for most men as well. Now I try to practice what I preach-until some knee problems over the last 3 months or so, I've been faithfully running between 30 -50 miles a week over the last 30 years and as many as 50 pull ups a day, so any interested lady will be getting a guy who is in shape too.

I've been using Anastasia, Elena's, All Single Russian Women, and just recently I've started discussions with Flying Hearts regarding Czech women. I honestly can't recall If I've met any women from the FSU but I have met one or two Czech women here and they seemed easy enough to get along with. Yes there are problems with Anastasia, but I think I've identified 2 or three women who seem to actually be sincere-they sent casual photos in various locations, sometimes without make-up, discussion of family activities, more relationship oriented discussion. I haven't been with other sites long enough comment much, though All Single Russian Women is not the most user friendly site-I didn't stay with it very long.

I've actually purchased a round trip ticket to Odessa for June but I'm staring to rethink things-mostly because I've been following the discussions about the adjustment process for the FSU women and the costs of bringing her here and of course allowing her to visit her family regularly. I know as my parents have gotten older, they've needed more help from my sisters and myself and my thought is many FSU women could be in the same position within not too many years of arriving here.

So from now on, I'll not only be following discussions but trying to post about any progress I'm making not not making; I'm not sure what my knee will require, so I may have to delay the trip and of course during that time I can continue to sort things out.

What attracted me was the absence of apology in celebrating their own femininity, among
other things. Call me vain, but I'm still crazy about my wife's accent - which I hope she
never loses, and at this point I doubt she ever will.

I cannot speak about any of the sites you mentioned, having no experience there - but I have seen
some sites where you can specify ranges of age, height, weight and so forth....then again, the
"package" isn't so attractive, at least to me, if the character within is lacking. You sound like a
patient man - that tends to work in your favor.

If you looking for an FSU woman better get ready for a big emotional and financial investment to get her over to North America.

As for Flying Hearts I used this agency in Prague couple years ago and would not recommend them. Costs a lot of $$ but not much in return. I actually met a lady through them but did not follow-up with her when returned home.

Thanks Giants11 and you just showed why these forums are so important. Some services are not scams but as you mentioned, just not the best return on the money invested. I'll place Flying Hearts on the back burner for now.

As for keeping in shape I'm definitely with you there. The knee hasn't sidelined me completely so I'm still able to walk several miles and it doesn't affect my upper body routine at all. As you've pointed out this is an emotionally and financially taxing venture-one will need to be at the top of their game.

But on the positive side, if successful, not only can one end up with a great wife, but I suspect that in the process, you will have grown in many ways that are not readily apparent on the surface. :brightidea:

True enough, and it will continue after you are married if you're lucky enough to find the right woman.
