6 hour train from Kiev is quickest.  Also, I was kidding about the lovers quaral.  To be honest if the chick is real there is a definate connection but the majority of the enthusiasm is steming soley from the suspence, not attachment.

I don't mean the distance to arrive in Moldava.  I mean more the logistics of that country, especially now with all the political wierdness.

I have to say again.. tranquilo muchacho... they are just words ona  screen and a pretty picture..

The country right now is very unstable.  I mean now as in as I type.  I'm facinated by most cultures and have been doing some heavy research on the current state of the country.  In doing so, I came to the realization that I would really enjoy visiting it whether said crush is real or not.  For the last couple of days, I have been securing European contacts that host volunteering programs to help the less fortunate comunities in that region.  I figured the worst that could happen is I can help a needy orphanage & will learn alot, alot in the good sence.  I've been known to do things like this for years.  I guess when ur 31 and single with no children, you realize u don't have much to lose and to travel to lesser charted locations has always appealed to me...and the fact that I will be volunteering will make me feel that much more comfortable because that's what I know....

alright guys, here we go...i just found her.

http://www.anastasiadate.com/profile-Russian-girl-seeking-marriage-Inna-1123650.htm

what now?  what does this mean exactly?

What does this mean?  It means that you like Bleached Platinum Blondes.

:hairraising: :puke:

You have been on the Redneck Riviera too long.  My advice is to pursue intelligent, classy women such as Blues Fairy.  Such women are rarely featured in stories of false domestic violence and the like.  There is also the possibility that such women will not be attracted to you.

^ur absolutly correct and I have already acted on that advise.

while im thinking about it...in our second letter I purposely mentioned that I was new,  worried about scammers and being overly causious.  She replied with "just be careful and follow your heart, you will be ok" , or somthing of that nature.  In most cases, a scammer would have just moved on right?
thats a funny way to weed out scammers. scammer is THE one who wouldn't move on in that case. if a guy mentioned scammers and green card girls in his 1st or 2nd letter, i always moved on immediately, i have absolutely no desire to deal with their paranoia. I prefer to talk to someone who assumes i'm a good honest person, until proven otherwise, rather than i'm a scammer until proven otherwise. Or at least keeps his thoughts to himself on this subject.

Another example of how NOT to romance a RW.  Newbies should read all of Aloe's posts.  She has posted many such gems.

All of our RW posters have valuable insights.  Most RW posters are married and living in the West.  As such they know very well the two cultures and can explain conflicts and overlaps between the two.  A Newbie should read them and try to understand the mentality of the poster as a preview of what he is contemplating.

OTOH, you are young, unmarried and still living in the FSU.   Also, you speak your mind, providing a RW perspective even about delicate subjects that touch sex.  You will say things that a RW may not tell a newbie corresponding with her.  She may not tell him such even after meeting him.

A few single RW have graced the RWD pages while still residing in Russia.  Blues Fairy and VWRW are two examples.  We could use more.  Hope you stay around after your marriage.

Kuna, can you elaborate on this technique?  What specifically did they advise?

Simple really...  but obvious too.

From memory...  and it WAS some time ago...

... but, in her e-book she mentions the masses of emails going over there and the lack of serious men traveling.

She advises to put something like the following in the subject line of your initial emails (first two or 3 replies) to make you easy to notice and remember:

"Letter from Harry Harris from Bumpkin, USA."

Her theory is that most emails have informative subject lines like, "Hi" and "Marry me now", and women just skim over them after time.

She proposes a structured subject line repeated a few times to make you noticable.

Of course i had two HUGE advantages...  a Ukrainian Surname and being in Australia.  All of my responses were very similar:

1. Why do you have a Ukrainian name.  It's so common you know.  My friend/boss/neighbour is also XXXXXXX, and;
2. I love Australia.  I've seen a program on TV with Koala bear.  I love to see.

It was lovely really... but my wife's first reply to me was rather short and went something like this, "May I see your photo please?".   :-[

By the way... my wife has since told me she would get so many emails she wouldn't even look at them after a while.  She said most emails were mindless drivel... "No imagination, I could not marry anyone with no imagination"... She said when my message arrived the name in the subject caught her attention and then she opened it and was pleasantly surprised with the content.

CR,So you want to go to Moldova? I just spent two and a half weeks there last November. Why would you take a train from Kiev to get to Moldova? Just fly to Frankfurt or any other European city that offers flights to Chisinau. Have your platinum blonde meet you at the airport, its a small country and would not be hard for her to get there by bus or by cab. Its a very simple process. As far as the politics its been unstable for years but I felt safe all the time.
And why are you so emotionaly involved with a woman your not even sure is real? WTF?

CR it is fun to see your new obsession...I was like that 10 years ago when I first opened the door into this world...Take your time, think clearly (something that I also find hard to do when ga-ga over a girl) and try to make sure this lady is a real and not porky Pavel before you get too emotionally attached to her. Break away from all agency contact and just chat with her one on one. Get her to send you photos, get her adress and phone #. Do a quick, quiet check on her using the web. If she is a known scammer you can find this out in 5 minutes. If there are no warning signs (green light) then proceed. If you find out something by yourself or she starts to get "scammy" on you (red light) then back off and go to the next lady. Believe me that sea is full of REAL attractive women so don't flip if you have to move on. Use your common sense in other words. Yes she is hot but there are a lot like her out there. Just search for the one that is attractive to you and is REAL and really wants to get to know you. You are doing this at the perfect age and I wish you luck. Keep us posted.

Taking a train from Kiev would be the slowest route and you have never been on a train in the FSU which would be an adventure in itself. Yes I did have a good time there. Lots of beautiful women but I didnt use an agency. I did it my way:)
Have you ever traveled out of the country before? If you havent, pick one of the larger citys and hire an interpreter to guide you around for your first trip. Doing it solo with no experience can lead to some bad situations. You would be far to trusting of a person being from America and that is not always a good thing.

I love FSU trains. Well, I did after I learned to buy out the compartment when traveling overnight. Day trips are actually more fun with the interaction between your cellma...er fellow travellers.

Chisinau is supposed to be a lot of fun but you should check on the recent spate of anti-government riots there. Be sure they are calmed down a bit.

I have used trains their several times and enjoyed them. You really get a chance to see what the country side and some of the small towns look like. But to show up at Borispol, find your way to the train station, get a ticket to Chisinau and hope like hell Miss Peroxide does show up might be a little stressful for a newbie who has never been to the FSU.
CR. When you go to the FSU its not like traveling around Western Europe. Few speak English and when you are trying to buy a train ticket to Chisinau when in Kiev from a woman who doesnt speak English, life can get interesting. They have just about zero patience with foreigners who dont speak Russian.

The above is correct and forewarned is forearmed. Although a lot more English is spoken than some let on.  If you fly into KBP let me know.  I can have a taxi meet you and run you to the train stationor to an apt if you decide to meet a couple of gals in Kyiv, no problem.

Now that i'm reading this post, i realize how lucky i got, i went to Thailand for the 1st meeting with my fiance, good thing he showed up  :D That woulda sucked to be stuck so far away from home in a foreign country alone. And lucky for him i showed up too. We only spoke like for 1 minute on the phone, and the rest was thru text before our first meeting. lol.

well, apparently you have to travel back in time to find someone with family values  & is attractive as well.

Don't you have friends or know somebody who's married to an American women with both family values and good looks?    :-\   I find it hard to believe...
