I suppose if I was running it I would want a few States in between... That is odd isn't?

I doesn't make sense to me but then again I am no legal eagle. But it doesn't seem there would be much if any jurisprudence for Arizona out of Little Rock. I couldn't imagine a Arizona center for Justice being any less effective than to be in L.R. AR

You might be looking at it from the wrong angle. Look at it from the criminals eyes.

It is easy to to make accusations and push the right buttons of the law from across state lines.

But...

It is very difficult for county and city police departments to go across state lines unless it is something big. Lots of cooperation between the city and county goverments from various states to accomplish anything. Especially something like a "he said she said" situation.

SMS, I am still having a difficult time following. Maybe you should have written it slower  :D but I live in Arkansas (I know, that might explain it) and I deal with and have dealt with governments in Arkansas on all levels. I still fail to see any advantage a center for justice from Arizona located in Arkansas can be effective. If this lady and her live-in lover are crooks, they are not bigger than the city of Phoenix or the state of Arizona even if they have certain officials on the take. Yes if the center for justice isn't under the jurisdiction of the corrupt officials they could operate more freely but they would hardly find any sympathy in Arkansas for a corrupt women's shelter in Phoenix. I just don't see the reasoning.

Hmmm, well there is a Criminal Justice Institute at the University of Little Rock. Could be someone confused by the AR abbreviation for Arkansas as in AR CJI?

Smells a little fishy to me.

I saw a couple of similar things in Ukraine where people would put together supposedly non-profit and NGO style web sites with a made-up name to pursue a vendetta against some expat they felt wronged them. One guy sent out flyers purporting to be from the Australian Federal Police complete with pictures (and a scan of both passport and Driver's License) of the so-called fugitive. When you read it through there were comments that this man is "the face of evil" and a "monster" among claims that he was eluding arrest for pedophilia and a missed court appearance.  Not comments a police organization would use on a wanted flyer. The bright red and yellow colors were a poor choice for a supposedly official flyer as well.
Pick and choose carefully among the advice offered and consider the source carefully. PM, Skype or email if you care to chat or discuss

Unless they were to somehow bring federal charges which I don't really see happening, the lady's alledged crimes would be a local issue to be dealt with in Phoenix or elsewhere in the state of Arizona. I just see a Arizona center for justice located in Little Rock, about as useful as tits on a bull for prosecuting this woman. Arkansas's history for prosecuting white collar criminals is about as notorious as Chicago's. Hopefully, there is just something else here I don't understand

The Russian Club which was a joint effort of the Russian/Ukrainian community and the college, and enjoyed use of the college facilities and auditoriums, was officially disbanded by it's board of directors in consultation with college administrators several years back, and no longer legally exists.

A number of things contributed to the clubs demise, and the suspicion of many members regarding alleged use of the clubs' name and resources to facilitate alleged unauthorized fundraising for certain charities was a factor. Sad given the club's long history and former size of it's membership before its fall from grace.

The man who sends out the mass emails was a board member and its former secretary when dissolved and that defined his statue in both the organizational structure and the meetings and activities. He was not "the leader." He has been a very vocal supporter of Shield. After the club dissolved he purchased a similar web name and has kept the announcements section active while listing himself for the past several years as Secretary with the Pres and VP positions listed as "open". It has been over half a decade since the disolution.

The last case I'm aware of regarded a lady who seemed to have a legitimate domestic violence case and upon recommendation from local RW/UW rejected help from Shield and instead sought and received help from the Phoenix chapter of Catholic Charities before eventually returning to Russia of her own will.

It is sad that men were so wrongly accused and equally as sad if some may have tried to use the club for recruitment purposes. Such unjustified activities against Russian-American families garner very little public support within the greater Phoenix Russian/Ukrainian community.

His name is Shane Neff. He is happily married to a woman from Russia.

http://www.facebook.com/people/Shane-Neff/1011560660

.

Maxx,

Bingo.  Yes, that was his name, Shane Neff.  However, the Shane Neff I saw on TV did not look like any of those pictured on the Facebook profiles.  I think that Shane might now be about 52 or 53.  Light hair.  I corresponded with him briefly via a Yahoo discussion group.  I think it was the same discussion group on which I originally encountered Doug Salem back in mid-2002, or early 2003.  I cannot recall the name of it.  Actually, I think it changed its name once or twice.

Some interesting experiences between AM and RW were starting to develop by that time -- enough time having passed since larger numbers of men began visiting the FSU for the purpose of meeting a wife in the late 90's -- and learning their fate (good or bad).  Shane wrote a multiple page (maybe 30 page) account of his ordeal -- from cheery beginning to excruciating conclusion.  It was riveting at the time, as I had just recently escaped the clutches of a typical green card girl in 2001-2002.

I am pleased to learn that Shane is now happily married, as he seemed like a decent enough guy.  When he appeared on the talk show as a guest to discuss his ordeal, I remember him saying that he had resolved at that time to never again attempt a relationship with a RW.  I guess that time healed that wound and he didn't stay bitter.  I had all I could endure with my GCC (having been used and abused prior to terminating my relationship with the GCC after she arrived in the US on a K-1), and am a little surprised to hear that he returned to try again.  However, I did also.

I think what happened to him and what happened to me and maybe you also is that we were contacted by sympathetic RW who knew what their sisters were capable of. They backed us up. We seen in them examples of women we wished we had married, namely a 'Decembrist' wife. I know Shane with his RW-X website had RW members who clearly were on his side.

I have had a conversation with one of the men involved in this Phoenix Russian/Ukrainian club. He's quite upset that his organization was disbanded in various ways by what he says was a competitor for Russian Ukrainian membership. Lawsuits and restraining orders issued right and left by the competitor.

There are many stories in Russian papers about American husbands are abusing and even killing their Russian wife. They are making talk-shows of these stories. People are discussing those cases and truly believe that it is very dangerous to marry an American man. When I was moving to US to join my future husband, lots of my friends thought I was very brave and they believed I had a big chance to die. They told me all this stories about women sold to be the prostitutes and children sold for the organs (it is common joke in our family now) and it was in Saint-P, people are even more superstitious outside of big cities.

My point is there are some crazy people in both countries. There are real cases of abuse of Russian women and adapted children from Russian orphanages, but showing those cases only and saying: See, you are lucky, you don't have a husband and even a hope to find one, but at least you are alive. This makes it RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA.

On the other side, there are criminal Russian women, like Olga, they were, they will be.
I don't think it should discourage anybody to look for a soul mate. Just be careful, use your judgment.
My husband told me, he had an opportunity to date 25 yo Russian woman at the beginning of his searching process. He thought: I want to marry her, it is understandable, but why she would want to marry me, bold and fat 45 yo guy?
This guy in the story seems nice and intelligent, but his wife looks like his daughter.
I don't want to offend anybody but may be before start dating this woman he should look at a mirror and asked himself: WHY?

Can't blame the 'competitor.' I was never a part of the so called 'competitor' but do know most involved and in general they are very fine people. That new organization, short lived, was only formed after some very distressing events were tearing the apart membership of the original club. I can imagine that in the public view there were lots of reasons perceived, some accurate and some far from the mark.

The lawsuits and restraining orders flying back and forth were NEVER to/from the Phoenix Russian Club. By that time the board and the college had taken action to disband and successful establishment of an organization would have been welcomed by many.

The new organization attempted to gain legal access to membership lists, something the outgoing board Secretary declared lost via supposed corrupted computer files. Miraculously however the loss of that list has not stymied the flow of emails for certain causes.

I do not know much details about the who and the why. I just told it was a peaceful group that suddenly became divisive because of some new Russians that entered it. The lawsuits and restraining orders were directed towards one of the members of the original group I was told.

This is that retired agent, John Sampson, that was posting on the thread where Scott was heading into the DV accusation (or thought he was).

Good that the issue is getting some light publicly rather than just among the forum and more limited circles of married guys. Also, hope it gets Sampson some business and spurs other qualified consultants to get into this market and help out some fo the guys falling into this trap.

Pick and choose carefully among the advice offered and consider the source carefully. PM, Skype or email if you care to chat or discuss
