Hi All,

I've found this forum by accident while searching for new material for my blog.
And boy, was I surprised to find out that Russian and Ukrainian girls are so popular among the American guys! For several days I have been secretly reading postings by American guys and Russian girls discussing their success stories and today I finally decided to come out from undercover and introduce myself a little...

Well, I am a Ukrainian girl here in the USA (California). I have been here for almost three years now and love it! (But, I guess, Who wouldn't :D?). Unfortunately, I don't have a success story (yet :D) to share with you, but I would love to be a part of the forum's discussion, if this is okay, of course.

Also I would like to note, that I was happy to find out that there are guys out there who still believe in love and a happy family.

Welcome Victoria, sort out the things you're interested in or bring on some new topics and sort out the posters.

Most of us appreciate an FSUW perspective on the topics. Just be patient with some of the ideologues when the topic drift sets in.

You mention you have no success story yet, what story are you trying to be successful in?

Thank you for welcoming me on the forum.
As to the success story I only meant that the Russians women who posted earlier on the forum (a few lines down from me) have met their significant other and would like to share their success story with others or give an advice on the international marriage. I am here for a different reason. That is all.

As to me being successful in a particular story... My life is a success story for me. I love my life the way it is and would like for it to develop organically.

Roughly where are you (no need to be too specific, just generally) and what brought you to the US? Do you work? Study? You say you are a Ukrainian girl who has been here almost three years but is it temporary or permanent?

Welcome victoria.  Jump in and have some fun wherever you feel comfortable.  We have a number of quite intelligent ladies and gentlemen who post here, and then some others who prove that there is indeed life from other planets (I frequently fall into the latter category).

Glad to hear you enjoy living in the U.S.   Did you feel comfortable here right away? or did it take some time to adjust? What was your experience with the transition?

I didn't really have a problem with transition, I came here after living in the UK for several years. Besides I had a couple of friends and relatives here when I came, so, I felt very comfortable and happy right away  :D

May I ask what kind of search brought you to RWD?

You never heard "Mail Order Bride" words in all those years living overseas?   :-\   Well, then it proves that Russian and Ukrainian girls ain't so popular at all...    ;)

I haven't heard term "Mail Order Bride" before today. I did know that Russian accent is sexy though ;D ...

I think that nowadays (when we practically live at work, and barely communicate to each other outside of work, don't use public transport that much, and spend the majority of our free time surfing the Internet) it happens to be convenient to meet people online. It seems easier since you actually don't need to be brave enough to come up to someone and start a conversation, painless, and possibly romantic :couple: in some ways...

As to dating Ukrainian/Russian girls who are in Ukraine or Russia now…
Don't you think that it is even harder to find a decent person in a non-English speaking country without being able to communicate in person and take the time to get to know each other, especially if a girl doesn't speak good English? Isn't it like an arranged marriage?

Didn't mean to talk anyone out of dating Russian/Ukrainian girls or anything....  :D You are happy and that's what matters! I was just wondering...

I am writing a blog in Russian for those who learn English, and one of my articles was about the accent. I heard several years ago that Russian and French accents are sexy, and just wanted to find more information about that to publish on my blog. That's all.

Yes, and then there are the cultural differences, expectations, serial daters, scammers and fantasy issues, but be careful, many are in denial of this simple fact.

Victoria, the 'sexyness' of a foreign accent is often due to the 'quaintness' of its sounds/rhythm to listeners with a different mother tongue ;). More specifically:

Personally to me women who speak native French, Italian, and Australian English are sexy. 

Dutch, American English, any Asian language, German, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese not sexy at all to me.

But a Russian woman speaking English with her accent is sexy. :D

I do think British English spoken by a woman with good teeth is sexy.  I am sorry to offend but when I lived in Leamington Spa area to many women have such bad teeth just hurts the language.  Never seen a country to have such bad teeth.  Americans maybe fat but we have good teeth.

Hi Sandro, the main reason I did face to face meetings was due to teeth.  ;D  My wife has good teeth but she sees the dentist often. Now I am in trouble.
