Anyone else going to Kharkov over the Summer????
« on: June 04, 2009, 04:12:08 AM »
Hi to everyone on RWD.  I very rarely post because I am so busy working my butt off so I can return to Kharkov, do a newspaper ad and hopefully find my soulmate.  In fact I shall be in Kharkov for 10 weeks where I shall be doing a newspaper ad using the services of a reputable interpretor/guide (Mila) whom I have already met.  I have been to Kharkov 3 times in the past and have ran 3 newspaper ads which have all been successful to a point.  Clearly, I can see that this method works and I am in no doubt that if the interpretor does exactly what I ask of her i.e. places the ad, answers all the calls, follows up on them arranging dates and then interprets without prejudices and any sabotaging of potential relationships then I will have success and meet my soulmate.  Given my previous experiences, I am in no doubt.  This was the problem with a certain man I used for the 3 previous newspaper ads.  He talked the talk and was happy to take my money, but he just didn't do what he told me he would!  The more I worked with him, the more uneasy I felt with his services.  In the end I lost complete trust in him after working closely with him.  Where have we heard this before ??? ??? ???  I am sure it has nothing to do with padding the bill, deliberately sabotaging potential relationships in order that me the client comes back and uses him again :cluebat:  Nobody would ever be like this now would they   Well, guess what I never used him again and I bet there's a fair few people on here reading this who will also never use him because of his wonderful business sense :P  So anyway, I was recommended to another female interpretor/guide by the name of Mila.  I only met her for a few weeks on the last trip in Kharkov and she seemed much more organized, more sincere and genuine and filled me with a whole new set of belief that there are some good people out there who can actually offer a sincere and honest service.  After all, I think I speak for 99% of the men on here who are all looking for a lifetime partner and not some fantasy that so many people here love to focus in on :cluebat:  Sure, I will be honest and tell you that I am looking for an attractive, younger, slimmer partner than I can find in the UK, but please don't jump on me for this.  It doesn't mean I am looking for something which is unrealistic nor does it mean there is something wrong with me.  So please don't attack me for my preferences and judge me since you do not know who I am and what I can offer.  The truth is that the choices in Ukraine are way more than the choices in my home city of Sheffield.  I am a taxi driver and I can 100% confirm I am not imaging any of this!!  You want to know what choices I have here?  Well to give you a flavour, I live in a part of Sheffield which is rife with drugs and dysfunctional families and girls who have many partners not to mention more single mums than you can shake a stick at!  95% of the girls who are single and in my target age range of 20-28 are overweight (not p.c. but nevertheless true) if not fat or obese, they will drink too much and more than likely take drugs.  Additionally, they will not be educated or well mannered and most will not be well presented.  They will not speak proper English and every 2nd word will be the 'f' word ::)  As 1 Ukraine girl I dated use to say to me, "they are without culture".  These qualities are not attractive to me :'(  So to say that the choices are naff, would be a huge understatement.  They are shocking!!!!!!!  Now in contrast, I am in a city like Kharkov (about twice the size of Sheffield) and I am walking down a street like Sumskaya for example, and I am thinking she's nice and she's nice and she's nice and .... you get the picture!!!! So before anyone jumps on me with the whole you're standards are too high 'crap' then please realise this cannot be the case else I wouldn't fancy so many girls in Ukraine!!!!!  Look, I can get girlfriends in the UK no problem, but I am looking for a life partner and the choices just are not there.  RW/UW reading this take note of the real problems many of us guys have!!!  I am only 33 years old and I really do look younger and I am handsome too.  I am well spoke, a gentleman and perhaps most importantly of all, I can make people laugh :D  This is constantly confirmed everyday in my job as a taxi driver so I am not being big headed or delusional.  I simply know because of how girls compliment me all the time.  However, the big problem is that girls of 18-21 (students etc) always think I am about 22-25 and naturally assume I am in their 'league' so to speak.  If Doll is reading this take note :P  They get in my taxi and the most popular thing I hear is "Ooh - you're a young taxi driver", "Are you a student" or something along the lines of "wow, you're sexy".  I think when you have heard this about 20 times per week by young teenage girls you begin to realise that you are not so bad after all ;D  But, of course I do not want girls that are so young, plus it is difficult to have a relationship with a student as there reality is quite different from that of a working man like myself.  So I then think OK, I need to find someone 20- 28 and guess what ???  there just aren't any eligible ones for me.  Please understand, there are many nice girls between the ages of 20-28, but very rarely (and I mean very rarely!) do I meet someone who I feel is my 'type'.  Even when I do rarely meet someone around the age of 22-25 that I am half interested in, they will only be interested in 'bad boys' and often they will have kids and ex-boyfriends still in their life's!!  I think us guys call this baggage :)  Now, I am not against kids, and in fact I love kids, but really I am traditional minded and my preference is to meet someone 20-28 without kids so I can start a family if you get me!!  Of course if the girl is right, but comes with a kid then I keep an open mind to this :-*

Anyways, I shall be in Kharkov in 4 weeks time where I shall stay for 10 weeks.  Mila will be administering my advert, taking all the calls, arranging the dates and most importantly interpreting.  I have a very good impression of her so far, but I am aware of Asif's experiences and indeed I read CCowboys experience too.  I was very suprised to read such issues and obviously I became really concerned because I have met Asif and got to know him quite well in the past 4 months.  In fact, I highly recommended Mila to him after my positive experience with her last summer.  Although, I am aware of Asif's issues that he had, I decided to use Mila's services since my own experience with her last summer was so positive.  Of course I have many backup plans in place should things not quite go to plan because as I learned from past experiences to FSU always have a backup plan!  I know that many people like the whole idea of going to meet 'the one', but trust me I have done that on 2 ocassions and it is not worth it.  To sacrifice time and hard earned money and travel all that way to meet someone who could be a 'pro-dater', may not be honest etc is foolish!!  Always have a backup plan!!!

I will post a live blow by blow TR when I am in Kharkov as it will help others as well as myself.  Can I say in advance that I will not be 'bashing' anyone!!  So, any members of the TR police please don't arrest me :rolleyes2:  It will be a TR and will only state the facts and experiences as seen through my eyes. I shall report the good and if necessary the bad and the ugly.  IT is after all a free world last time I checked!  Free in the sense of freedom of speech which does exist in UK (as long as it doesn't affect 1 person who might be offended :))

I would welcome any ideas, any constructive input and feedback as to what might help me in my continued search for a life partner.  I have been searching for over 2 years now and have made around 7 trips to both Russia and Ukraine.  I have had 4 relationships in that time whicih obviously didn't work out in the end.  Nevertheless, the experiences have been welcome and each time I am growing 8)  I knew that when I began this crazy adventure, it could take 5 years to find my soulmate and it seems I was right.  I have so far spent around $20000 in 2 and a half years and just out of interest I earn $10 per hour!!! I have to work incredibly long hours to be able to finace these trips but I do this for the reasons mentioned above.  It is a big sacrifice, but I am not the type to give up!!!  For those of you who always post about cheap Americans etc, well the reality is money does not grow on trees and sometimes the choices are so naff that you need to do something about it.  Like so many other guys on here that 'something' happens to be to work extremely hard, sacrifice your life back home and travel to another part of the world where the choices are increased.  Think of a great footballer who was great in the French League or the Spanish League, but not in the English Premiership.  Of course there were and are many and this metaphor can be applied to the dating/relationship game.  You might be alright in Ukraine or Russian but not have the same success in UK!!!  Sometimes, it's the venue and not the player ;)

Hello Dazzler.

I understand where you are coming from.

I personally found the same situation here in the GoodOl'USA (except for the age range, mine was 40yrs. and up).

I became really concerned because I have met Asif and got to know him quite well in the past 4 months.  In fact, I highly recommended Mila to him after my positive experience with her last summer.

Well this really puts a different "spin" on things.

I wish you had come on RWD earlier and posted this information.

Maybe I should take a second look at Asif's and CC's story?

If you don't mind me asking Dazzler, since you know "both" parties (Asif and Mila) personally, what do you think happened over there?

I would be VERY interested in your opinion.

Of course I have many backup plans in place should things not quite go to plan because as I learned from past experiences to FSU always have a backup plan!

You sound like you have done your "homework" Dazzler.

Dazzler, if it is possible to post any pictures of your adventure....it would be a big plus!

It will be a TR and will only state the facts and experiences as seen through my eyes.

As any TR should be.

I have so far spent around $20000 in 2 and a half years and just out of interest I earn $10 per hour!!! I have to work incredibly long hours to be able to finace these trips but I do this for the reasons mentioned above.  It is a big sacrifice, but I am not the type to give up!!!

Your young, keep looking!!

You WILL find "the one".

It sounds like you are VERY serious Dazzler.

Good luck this time!!

Thanks for the support GOB and Shadow.  I really do appreciate it because this whole adventure is not easy and believe you me if the choices were even 10-50% better then I wouldn't of even dreamt of going abroad to find a life partner.  NO CHANCE!!! But what is a man to do???  Still, we face challenges and we must rise to them ::)

For sure, I will be posting photos.

I wish you good luck in your quest. By any chance was the man you previously used in Kharkov Slava?

On a different note, it is unfortunate you have to state in your post for nobody to attack you. It was pretty obvious how viciously CCowboy and Asif were attacked in their posts when they dared to criticize Mila. There is some strange sort of adulation for that woman that I just don't get. I'd likely bet she puts on her panties the same way as all other women...one leg at a time.

It is really a sad testament to how willing people people on this website are willing to attack. Sometimes people would be better off to just listen to the message than attacking the messenger. I hope you won't be run off when you come back to post if God forbid things don't go well with Mila. Although I am not a betting man but I'd be willing to wager that Mila will take good care of you now that she's had a few men less than satisfied with her services and had enough chutzpah to post about it here.

Kudos to learning Russian. It opens up the available pool of women. Big dividends in speaking with her friends and family and make the trip more enjoyable in general. It was one of the best moves I ever made.

Have a good time. Clearly communicate what you want Mila to do. Follow through with her and review any ad she places for you. Make sure you get an itemized bill of her services of who/when/were/how long/etc. Make sure you have time to review it before payment as well. Make sure she gives you all the contact info of each woman you meet.

I know there will be a lot of us waiting to read your TR. Have you nailed down your exact dates yet? With any luck I might be heading back over this summer.
Take time to learn the language. Even a little can go a long ways...

Get off your butt and go! Don't make excuses why you can't do it, find a way to make it work! Always go with a backup plan too!!!
