Makes three of us. Mine claimed to be bi-, yet bi- would suggest 50-50.  Mine may have been 50-50 when she had a child, yet when I met her men were very distant in her thoughts.

Though I still see nothing wrong when woman cares about her own feelings. I care about my own feelings. In the whole world there are how many billions of people? And I am one and only. So whose feelings should go first when i make my decisions?

I started reading and the first, original post.  It screams naivete to me. I see this ALL the time on this board.  Accordingly, I respond:

There is a notion that an AM can be "white knight;" and expect all the loyalty and love and admiration that a white knight is dutifully entitled. 

So, the AM let's down his guard for this "sweet, lovely, young thing" ... something he would likely never do in business, or other social dealings.  He is a participant in this fairy tale.  The soap opera plays out, and the AM is surprised that there exists a hardened independence - perhaps a secret agenda.  It is just as much the fault of the AM - in many cases - for believing the unbelievable. 

Many times over the past months, I have been asked "does she really like me."  My answer is always the same: IF YOU HAVE TO ASK - HELL NO!

I do not feel it is advisable (or, at best it is risky to the point of reckless ) for a newbie to be idealistic and proceed fast.  You have to get your "sea legs".   You have to know what your value is - naturally - in these different places. Only then can you understand your real value and the way you are perceived.  Of course, this requires time and patients, and many men do not want / or do not have these. 

Nevertheless, without doing these things  ... you only see the tip of the iceberg.   Its like playing darts drunk AND blindfolded.

LoL... Yeah..Really...   I think "whacked" knows very few international/cultural boundaries.  I think a very good rule of thumb is.. if it's female, it's whacked!     (just kidding ladies, no need to make me the effigy at the next Burning Man).... But as an aside, shouldn't it be "wacked?"  Not to be anally retentive over slanguisticular expressionism, but "whacked" reminds me of either the Sopranos removing said lady from his life in quiet yet grandiose fashion, or something to do with the grass being too high to bury her in the back yard.  But hey.. maybe that's just me..

too often are there calculative white knights. This is a special type of men. They see cheap deal (woman) and they forget their common sense because of cheapness of the deal. They believe they can get something for nothing. Then when they figure out the deal was not as cheap as they expected - they are blushing like virgins when F word is used [so to speak]. In russian we say "разыгрывают оскорбленную невинность".
When a woman says "no" to the man who thinks this woman is affordable for him, does this woman automatically qualifies for "lair and unworthy of time and money spent"?

Dear OP, I do not imply you are one of those men. But I am truly amused with your generalization.

The thing is to know if a woman is into you or simply toying with you. The challenge is to recognize the former and not fall in love with the latter IMHO. However, it is sometimes hard to think logically when smitten by a much younger and attractive young woman

In my very humble opinion, the mistake some men make is thinking that if they spend enough money a woman will love them. Been there, did that, and understood that is a failing strategy.

...Most RW, particularly the older ones, have been through a wringer that would devastate the average AW.  Out of necessity, RW are survivors and skeptics.    Some seem permanently calloused, as independent and tough as an alley cat.

This is one of the primary reasons I prefer to date a younger woman. I don't mean very young but young enough to not be so hardened. Of course a woman can be hardened at a very early age too if she suffered through a difficult situation. I'd rather find her before some man has squeezed all the joy out of her and turned her into a cynical BOW!

Of course it helps (like so many men here) that I look young than my age...   

I too would caution with being "too nice". If I had been that way with my current interest, I would have lost her a long time ago. Don't be a doormat!!! Grow a pair. If you can't grow them, at least rent them from a buddy who actually has a set. If you don't have them yourself or you don't know a buddy with a set either, then you are probably on the wrong side of the buysexual or metrosexual equation... Better look for a tamer pursuit than RW/UW.

that's absolutely true. I was talking about slightly different thing. If you see on a cage with cougar written "sheep" - don't trust your eyes. If on the cage with cougar there is no sign - some naive people might think "cute kitty, will be good addition to my rabbits pets", and again - will be wrong.

Not sure what BOW is, but that sentence kinda reminds me of "cherry pickers" - "I'd rather be the first man she knows"...      Cynical (in my opinion) means that woman sees the world in it's real color and not the pink shade of imaginary glasses...

There is "role confusion" in the USA and it is in full bloom.  It does not serve the best interest of either sex well.  Most AM deserve AW.

I'm a little busy. I have commitments in Colombia that I must maintain, and that keeps in in Cali.  I want to see that chapter through. I have many women in Cali that I am friends with, and some of these still hold prospects.  I can almost dance Salsa as a local and speak Spanish too. I have to be in Costa Rica in September.  I have been invited to visit SE Asia in October. 

I do not have an interest in "wife hunting" in Eastern Europe; Ukraine; or Russia.  I have seen enough of the dynamics involved in marriage agencies and other "mechanisms" to know I would rather not. I do, however, have a deep desire to duplicate what I have done in South America ( live and work for an extended period of time), in Eastern Europe.  So, that takes a little planning. I think I will be able to pull everything together by Spring 1210.  And, certainly, I am looking forward to it.  Life is a Movable Feast.

Listen my brothers and I will tell you my tale of woe.   I met a beautiful Russian woman 3 months ago in the USA and after I spent some time with her I am convinced she's the woman for me. 

I invested a lot of time in this woman and some expense.   I don't really care about the money.  It's lost and gone.   What hurts me is after spending so much time with her and thinking she cares for me she shows me quickly that she isn't the woman I thought she was. 

We had some difficulties with language but I worked with her on her English.  I would have done more if she would have asked me.

I was a gentleman with her.  I accomodated her needs and desires.  I listened to her and all that she said.  I thought I had at last found a truly wonderful woman.  She made me smile and laugh when I talked with her.  It's not something every woman can do for me.

What I discovered about this woman and many women like her is that while you think they are being affectionate and like you a lot and maybe more, there is a cold calculating mind at work behind the scenes.   They care nothing about your feelings.  Only their feelings have any importance.

I would beware my brothers before you invest too much time in these women.  They are unworthy of your affection and potential for love.   They will trample on your heart if you allow it.   Be very careful before you invest too much time and attention in any of these Russian women.  Most of them are not worthy of it I suspect.

Really, it would be good to listen to the story in details. However, we never come close to the true if we don't also see it from the other side of fence.

Very sorry for Doug's unfortunate experience  but well, this is what life consists of. We can make many things happen, but we cannot make people love us. People who make us laugh and bring happiness in our lives often have their choices, with us being not the best of their options Sad true, but who said life is fair?

It may well be the case that Doug just stumbled across an indeed bad apple, and she just used him somehow. Of course it does not relate to all Russian women.

I don't want to be the first man a woman knows. Then she can't really appreciate what I have to offer. 

OTOH I don't want a woman that has more cynicism than optimism. I would rather be the one to protect her and our family against the really bad things in life and try my best to allow her to retain her openness and nurturing nature. After a few really bad men, women change in ways that tend to drive me away. I don't need a hard-edged cynical woman. There are enough of these to go around for others...

The folks down at the USCIC have a poor opinion of them as well. I on the other hand think the good ones are some of the BEST women on earth. A good Pit Bull is one of the best dogs to own just as a good Russian woman will make one of the best wives. Although I wouldn't want to cross either...
