After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

The guy could be independently wealthy (trust fund, for example), but anyone who is evasive is not someone trustworty, hence, not marriage material.  Also, a 40 year old who plays computer games all day will never grow up.

That is pure speculation and opinion. I have enjoyed playing video games all day on several occasions and I can assure you I am plenty grown up. I do agree with the first portion of your statement entirely.

Anyhow, Sculpto, if you will to allow me to, I will be more then happy to do a search of this monkey utilizing the means available to me which are a bit more in-depth then your typical "internet" searches.

What do you propose Wraith?  I don't think the name he has given the girl is real.

Has she talked to him on the phone? Fairly simple to do a reverse look-up. Much easier to do this when you have access to an E911 database and other associated DB's one uses in LEO. There are many the public simply don't have access to.

A cell phone might be difficult to do a reverse look-up on. Unless things have changed dramatically in the last 2 years with a cell phone usually you will only get the service provider customer service number to call and inquire about the account. A lot of recent developments in criminal activity has brought about legislation that is supposed to change this.

Wraith is correct in that there are many type of searches law enforcement can do, however it has to be a legitimate investigation (you know that pesky 4th amendment right to unreasonable search and privacy stuff).  Here's the bottom line Sculpto;

Tell your friend that if she has any doubts about this guy and if he won't address her concerns, then she needs to kick him to the curb and move on. Life's too short to be playing silly childish games.

Easiest way to figure out if it is a cell is look at the prefix and cross reference it with the known prefixes in Dallas. (XXX) 123-XXXX.

But the main point is does she really have a morbid curiosity to know? Or, as you said, is she looking for a little bit of advice to help solidify her "thoughts" regarding this guy? My interpretation regarding the entire thing is he is definitely a fishy character and she should look elsewhere for someone a little bit more forthright and honest with her. She's young yet...same saying applies to her as it does us men..."more fish in the sea."

True about the 4th Amendment. Doesn't stop folks from running NCIC checks and the like though. LEO has just as much "good ole boy" in it as any other branch.

Oh yeah, Sculpto, I went down to the Crossroads. I never could find a guy named "Stretch" though admittedly I didn't "ask" too many people either. Felt a little out of my element heh.

Are you refering to the Power & Light District? The entire dress code thing made it a bit stand-offish in my book even though I did agree with most of it. Although, recently, they did approve a rather lax dress code. Maybe I will check it out in the near future. Maybe not...we'll see heh.

Well, you did say your friend logged off! I see no harm in derailing it :D You did start it afterall. Besides I thought I did well enough asking you to have her contact an "honest" guy in myself  :'(

And, yes, a dress-code. Much of the debate over the dress-code was more-or-less racial stereotyping.
