Well, you all know it was just a joke, right? The flag that was waving, and so on...

And, of course, if Americans would have visited the Moon, they would have surely built a McDonalds over there.

No golden arches = no Americans!  ;D

I’m with Ms Mouse on this. Come on guys it’s so friggin obvious that was all part of George Lucas’s inaugural “make some $$$ from spacey things” plan. I’ve lost count of how many ‘moon walks’ I’ve watched where you can clearly see the strings. Y’all got away with KFC, Amway and Dynasty …. but nobody is buying this nonsense.

Olga, I don't know if you're joking but I know some people think a flag can't wave on the moon since there is no air which means no wind....but because there is no air, that is the reason a flag can wave on the moon.

Laws on Earth on how objects behave as we know it may not apply to other planets or moons since they aren't constructed like the Earth.

If you're out in space, in a vacuum and you throw liquid, that liquid will travel in the direction you throw it and constantly change shape. If you were on the moon, picked up a flag walked with it with the fabric moving behind you and you planted that flag, the fabric will continue to move for a long time since air isn't present to provide resistance and slow it down.

There were 12 men who walked on the moon on various missions. Could've been more if Apollo 13 didn't fail. Astronauts are chosen for their outstanding physical and mental abilities. Got to be smart handling cutting edge technology in space. I can't imagine all of them taking a secret to the grave if indeed it was a hoax.

A buddy of mine is an engineer working on a NASA project in it's infant stages to land a man on Mars in 2030 or later. I can't imagine America would attempt to land on Mars without some actual experience landing on an object much closer. Or do you think the American government is going to waste decades and billlions of dollars to provide another hoax?

Landing on the moon was real, it just shows that people can see a conspiracy in anything.

Humbug IMO. My understanding is that the efforts made to prove the landings were in themselves further propaganda. Besides, despite so many alleged moon landings, then how come not even one Astronaut has brought back any cheese yet?  ::)

Indeed! That makes them all guilty by default :P

It will only take a few years and millions.

With modern CGI, the Mars landing is going to be way better than that old moon landing! They should do it in 3D. Maybe add some cool creatures or glow in the dark stuff like in Avatar. I can't wait!

Definitive proof the moon landings were real.  Proof by the Mythbusters.

Also anyone who has been to Russia knows that the Soviets (remember 1969) would be the first country to denounce the Americans as liars and cheats.

The story of the moon landing not being real is mostly fueled by Muslim countries, as according to their prophet Islam would exist until men walked on the moon.

It seems he was incorrect.

I'm sorry but I could only watch a few moments of those videos. I have a deep mistrust of men with facial hair since an unfortunate incident with an in-store Santa when I was 16 6. Besides, 'Mythbusters' to my knowledge conveniently decided in their better wisdom not to cover the distinct lack of the aforementioned cheese brought home by the Appollo's. We are not all so easily lead.

If, and it's a big if, it's all true then what exactly was the point? "Non stick pans" I hear you shout. Brilliant, I don't know how we survived without them.*

*This is a slight lie as I do know the answer. My Granny used to smear a smidgen of lard on the base ... wolla.

Why does there have to be a point ? We landed on the moon because we can.
Same with Mars. We have sent a garbage bin in to space to see if anyone will bring it back...

You're right Shadow, there doesn't have to be a point. I just thought there might have been one though in case any US citizen asked why they were spending $150 billion to do it.  8)

Not by itself, but only if someone sets it in motion first by jerking its top retainer. Lack of atmosphere on the moon means no air friction which, coupled its lower gravity, will keep it 'waving' slightly longer than on Earth, as shown in this experiment:
