How do I get started.
« on: July 20, 2009, 11:53:39 PM »
I may be in the Ukraine in less than a month.  I would like to know what is the best way to get a head start on meeting women from the Ukraine.  I am curious about websites and meet and greet dating agencies.
Can you recommend websites that you know are trustworthy and reasonably priced.  Since I may be there in a few short weeks I would perfer quick forms of communication.  It seems that some of the sites send letters and can charge a bit per letter.  Letters seem slow compared to email.  Any feedback or sites you can recommend?
ALSO can anybody recommend dating agencies in the Ukrain and do you know what servides they provde and how much they tend to cost?

Thanks!

Marko,

Where will you be in Ukraine???  Kiev?

If I were in that position I would join Elena's Models and shoot off a dozen emails to ladies that are of interest.  I'd also have a look at freepersonals.ru and send off another dozen emails to interesting ladies.

Tell them you'll be in their city in x weeks and you'd like to meet someone while there.

Don't tell them you're meeting many...  DO NOT tell them you're meeting just them.

If you have time to swap 3 or 4 emails you should start to get a feeling who you'd like to meet.  You should be able to sort out the scammers quickly by letting them know you'll be there soon (they'll either hurry to ask for money or not bother with you - as happened in my case).

When in Kiev, or most big cities, you could just drop into an agency and look through their photo albums / catalogues, but I reckon you're best off doing a bit of a search before arriving.

Good luck, and stay in touch if possible during your trip.  On my first trip I posted daily and got great advice from the members here.

Kuna

p.s. if you let us know where you'll be I'm sure men here will offer advice on where to go and what to see.

First of all: Welcome to the forum!

I may be in the Ukraine in less than a month.
Would be nice to know where you are going to be. Then some members could recommend on agencies or other contacts there.

A head start? Uhm... Probably by placing an ad in a local newspaper there.

I've no experiences with agencies. I question the necessity of their services. There are free websites around:

Freepersonals.ru
Quite a while around and a useful place to start. It's a classic FSUW<>WM Site.

Dating.ru
IMHO the better choice. A Russian Dating-Site mostly with FSUW<>FSUM ads. Nowadays the Site offers a English interface, but nevertheless most ads will be in Russian.1) Extremely limited (I never met one there) amount of scammers.

Both Sites are completely free of charge.

Greets,
j.

1) My strong advice: Learn Russian. NOW! At least the alphabet and a basic vocabulary. Otherwise you are certainly going to feel pretty helpless in UA.

Why only the Ukraine?  You're missing out on a lot of other great girls.  In my opinion, if your serious about finding a woman from the FSU, you should concentrate on other countries of the FSU like Belarus, Molodova, and Uzbekistan.
Just stating my opinion!  You don't have to agree with it.

I second what Kuna said. Hit Elena'a Models and let them know "You are going to be there." That gives you an up on all the ketboard romeos out there. You should have no problem setting up as many meetings as you care to. Also it is important that you only contact those that are on the site withing the last few days. If they haven't been there in a weed or so you're most likely not going to hear from them before you leave.

There are also several commercial members here that work in Ukraine and could possibly be helpful to you.

Welcome to the board and have fun :)

If you are going to be in Crimea, you might check out chance.crimea.ua

Also, there is no "the" in Ukraine.

Good luck!

I may be in the Ukraine in less than a month.

I'm just curious about the "may" part.  Getting a last minute deal on airfare  ;D ?  (My trips are usually booked weeks in advance, giving me as much time as possible to build anticipation up to absolutely intolerable levels   >:(  ;D )

Kryten41,
Have you explained your nickname in Simoni's "Join or Die?..." thread?  I'm guessing a certain British sci fi comedy that's one of my favorite series, but I don't want to throw around such accusations without cause!
