I lost my job and luckly have just found a part time job to get by.  Thankfully I have no kids to support.  Are there any free sites for singles to just chat online?  It would be tough right now to justify spending money on a dating site.

If you don't have $$ to pay a few dollars for a dating site, how do you plan to travel and meet women outside the US?

Skype or ICQ are your best options for chatting online.  Fora are more for discussions (though I can imagine hte attention you'd get over at AD ,, heheheheheheheheh.. er, don't go there)..

But Groov asks a very valid question... if you are looking to meet a woman who lives in FSU, you will need a pretty good chunk of change for travel and other expenses. 

If you are looking to make some friends for travel later, then stay away from Int'l dating sites... otherwise you'll develop a reputation fairly quickly as being a keyboard romeo.


So, my advice summary... chat and make some friends as you get your life together... learn about FSU ladies in the mean time to see that type of situation appeals to you.. then when you are ready, you will have a network of friends to assist you and or even date, as well as being mentally and financially prepared to make it happen.

Take care of business at home. Once you are able to take care of a person other than yourself, then start looking for a woman. It's not fair to the ladies if you are a year or longer away from visiting them.

Modifed to add there are international pen pal sites out there. Just google to find one.
