We have a pretty busy laser service to remove tattoos.
Depending on size, ink etc it can take 30+ treatments costing £1500+ and the pain.
The blue and the red pigment fades quite well but nothing makes the green go away.

Mir-they don't have products like wrecking ball in the UK?
or do they not work in your opinion..?

i've heard good reports on it working well , on all colors,
- low cost, slow complete fade , very little irritation???

and had a buddy doing laser removal of a partial sleeve a few years ago , that certainly got rid of every trace.
even on the typical dark green pigment.

sorry, but if he had paid 1500 pounds , for  so-so results..
the repeat business would be dismal

just sayin'
*shrugs*

I have seen Patrick's tattoos. They are well done, works of art.
A skull and crossbones is a different sort of tattoo. Could also be an artistic tattoo but it sends a different signal.

Heh heh, the ink on my right shoulder is an eclisped sun with a skull inside it, not a skull and crossbones.  Though I may add that one after my next trip to the big sand box.   ;D
If you have to ask about my Avatar, you wouldn't understand... =D

LOL, I understand that John. Some of the more trying trips can make you feel like getting crossbones on your chest.
I see you are a real knight. I have always wanted to be one myself. The guy in the photo told me 3 years ago that I could be one.. I hope the photo comes out OK.

Hehe...  when I first read this I thought you said...  "  I Think my right shoulder.... "   And I'm thinking at that point you must be nutz not knowing what you have on your shoulder.

I better stop at that.

I have a tattoo on my right shoulder and i see is as anyones right to have a tattoo if they want.
If you don't like tattoos then don't look and shut up.

Much nicer than 'Mom'  but what is it?

btw I don't think folks here are trying to take the 'right to tatoo' from anyone..

Generally speaking RW don't like tattoos. Of course some like them, but you narrow the playing field somewhat (like being Asian/African).

Although they are more prevalent now as opposed to 5 years ago, you will hardly find one on any RW worth taking out of the country. I also don't think on the whole they (RW) look at it from the "bad boy" image like its portrayed in the states, even though some tattoos can be stylishly done.

Of course anyone has a right to have a tattoo, but I'm not sure that's the issue. I have many rights, doesn't mean I act on all of them, especially if it's just because everyone else is.

If you (no one in particular) are a loser/geek/wannabe before you had a tattoo, you'll be the same loser/geek/wannabe after. Having a tattoo will not change this.

I'd say that maybe 1% of the population of Russia has a tattoo, but thats strictly my take on what I see around Moscow, which I would guess has the highest number of people with one in Russia (I've been to other cities, and Moscow is where I've see the most by far) .

Mostly men of course (mostly criminals, and many RW associate men with tattoos as such). The women I see with them, as mentioned earlier, are not exactly the cream of the crop. The woman with the snake possibly being an exception ;D.

It does come down to the individual, but I would tend to make it known to the RW beforehand just to make sure she's OK with it. good luck

Tattoos and piecing in employment- If they can be covered and not displayed, then look at qualifications. If they can't be, we will give you a call after we interview other candidates. . . . . .

First appearances are everything and tattooed receptionists are not acceptable unless you want to claim that they are on work rehab from the county. . . .

Well, guys,

The original post from Infantryman was pretty straight forward, he merely asked if having a tattoo would hinder his chances of finding a RW g/f.  I see that in the usual fashion, the thread has gone far afield from the OP and now people are busily justifying having a body that looks more like a comic strip .

Certainly I cannot speak for all RWs, however I have asked my wife about this,,, she is the arch conservative, well educated, and with some small degree of sophistication, she is, I think, pretty typical of the type of RW most men aspire to marry.  Her comments were, "no thanks".  Russians are a pretty class oriented society, the upper class,,, i.e., the better educated intelligentsia, better off Russia woman, would probably rather have an ear lopped off than get a tattoo.   The Russian girl with a tattoo is more likely to be of the lower class strata of Russian society, the sort who associates with criminals and mafia where tattoos are common.

If you ride a Harley, have hair down to your toes, are covered with a comic book creation you think is art, it just may be that a RW hottie is not for you.  Or,,, maybe there is a RW Smokin'hotkova hooker out there just waiting for a Harley riding mule to carry her to the land of milk and honey.

That is the honesty of it.   Let the flames begin...

Sorry pal- if you want to work in a professional office, you cover them or you don't get hired. Many many many offices have specific policies in their employee manuals as to showing your "art" during working hours. No studs or visible tats or piercing other than ears..

Even my daughter, with her nose piercing, has it covered or out, during working hours at a hospital and during her sport activities for her school.

The old thinking, as you put it, doesn't have to go away. The bizarre thinking, as I put it, is an aberration that will go away by itself given time. Tat removal is a burgeoning industry these days. . . and not just because there is a desire to free up more canvass.

Anyway, this is all off topic so I think this thread has run its course

I asked my wife about this today and she said that generally if a Russian man has a tattoo it's assumed he's either career military, mafia, or spent time in prison.

Flame starting....  Now!  Hehe

jb,

I have tats.  My profile I put on Elenas Models when I first started this endeavor showed them clearly.  I had MANY RW writing me.  And may I say many were first class women.

I don't consider my Elena low class at all.  She is a fairly normal woman with a lot going for her.  She happens to like tats and as a matter of fact has a small one herself.

I know you are straight laced.  That is OK for you.  But not all of us share those same views.  And being that you're straight laced I am guessing that the woman you selected is also in a similar mindset about these things.  So it does not surprise me that she agrees with you on this topic.

I don't think Infantryman will have a problem with his tats as long as he is honest about them.  I would hope - and think - that Elena selected me because of my commitment to family, my sense of humor, and our chemistry over whether she liked or disliked my tattoos.  Maybe if you ask her if she had a choice between meeting a man with or without tats she might say without.  But she met me and fell in love with me.  So I am her man and she accepts that part of me.

I am unsure if this has anything to do with RW or AW or anything of that sort.  It has to do with people all over and how they view body art in my opinion.

And for the record, I ride my harley with a bald head and no beard.  LOL

If you have a professional job, tattoos are not accepted....that is if they are visible!  LOL

Even the tattoo girl, Angelena Jole, covers her tats for most movie roles.  The directors mandate--not her choice.

I asked Marina about our getting a small tattoo... hidden.  She said... NO WAY!

My experience is that girls in the FSU, in general, are indeed 20 years in the past when it comes to tattoos....
