If anyone remembers Serebro

I got an email from her yesterday. She had met a man about 2 years back and moved to Flower Mound Tx, 3 weeks ago.

Thats about 10 - 15 mins from my office so hope to say hello to her.

Her email sounded like they were off to a shaky start so not sure how it will turn out.

You can find her final posts in this topic -- http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=7438.0, concluding with her decision to not follow the RWD Terms of Service, which resulted in her banning.

In that topic, she mentioned a PM I sent her that reminded her of her obligations under the Terms of Service agreement she accepted - and included that she is to NOT thieve any materials or photos from RWD for posting elsewhere.

She was, in fact, copying photos of me with my wife and daughter, KenC and his wife, and I/O and his wife - all of which were posted by Serebro at Antidate for the sole purpose of ridicule.

YOU, Jazzy, were complicit in her actions - or have you forgotten?!?

That action - to steal copyrighted material from RWD and then posting those photos for derision, including ridicule of my wife *AND MY 5 year-old DAUGHTER* (from this post -- http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=1255.msg121503#msg121503) was - and remains - completely unacceptable. Serebro would have been banned had she taken these actions with ANY member of RWD.

I fully remember Serebro, and am not likely to forget her anytime soon.

You attribute to me something I did not claim - and then demand that I defend YOUR version of something I never stated.

I think I have made my point about Serebro. Besides what I wrote upthread, there is a public announcement made when she posted her vitriol at Antidate - the RWD topic here -- http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=7460.0.

I suspect that will suffice to explain to anyone why she is "being outcast here." It may even satisfy YOU JC. We shall see.

I did however read the thread that was posted here and thought she was very level headed. Looks to me like she was ganged up on and backed into a corner.

It may well seem so.

There was a HUGE amount going on privately. I haven't counted, but I'd bet I have a hundred (or hundreds) of PM's directly related to Serebro. I know (or understand) that she is a troubled young woman with a tragic past, and I sincerely would have liked to help her in some way. She grew defiant and would have none of it - and it later led to her actions that I feel were unconscionable.

In the end, my/our efforts to help her were wasted, but not regreted. We just were not able to help.

I do not wish her ill. When I first saw Hi Tech's post, my initial reaction was; "Good for her!" - and thought it might be nice if she returned here.

Since, and based on JC's reminder of past events, I return to my position that the depths of her life traumas and her demonstrated instability and disregard for RWD and our members and families - she will not return to RWD.

I still wish her a happy and fruitful life - apart from RWD.

Serebro was banned for pirating family photos posted here for posting and ridicule elsewhere and for not endorsing the TOS as ALL members are required.  She was not banned for anything she said here.

Hi Tech, you were around when this nonsense occurred and I find your raising a banned members name here to be highly surprising and perhaps a thoughtless mistake.

Some will say “what the hell, she posted someone’s photos elsewhere, who cares”. Perhaps some clarification is in order as an example of why this shouldn’t have been raised again. It was NOT a matter of posting photos elsewhere in an attempt to drag up support for her opposition to a few people here (which by the way, she didn’t gain much if any traction and a number of her peers basically told her to drop it), the way it was done was the issue, not simply posted but stored in a private folder off site with a link to the folder thereby retaining complete control even if the host site had stepped in which I believe it failed to do. That was one of a succession of incidents.

No Jazz, this was not a “nice” person and certainly NOT an “absolutely normal, fine and great person”. This was and is a seriously disturbed person. You came awfully close to losing a number of real friends over it if you recall. I suggest you rethink you assessment.

Boaterguy, no she wasn’t “ganged up on”. Serebro was capable of and did write some quite brilliant material from time to time along with some complete rubbish. The quality of here useful posts was regarded by most thinking people here as highly valuable. The problem in part was, if anyone did not agree she would react angrily and go to incredible lengths across a number of threads in an attempt to discredit the person. I for one, and a number of others called her out on it and she then proceeded to throw a tantrum.

Shadow, no I don’t agree she was a “genuine” Russian woman in the sense of being indicative.

Probably the most disappointing aspect of the various events involving Serebro was they were a catalyst in the fracturing of some good friendships.

One complaint (Justifiable) of Russian Women is of “sickos” chasing women in Russia. I agree and have learned over the years Russia has its own share of “sickos” also and this was a classic case. Will or can she recover to a normal life? I sincerely hope so, at least for the sake of one gentleman living in Texas, however good sense and experience leads me to very much doubt that will happen.

I already told that towards me she was good. I understand that what she did obviously was not acceptable and I am sure she was sorry for that and so on.

JC, this is the first time that I have seen "KenC" and "sweet" in the same sentence.      In contrast, I would expect "sweet" and "JazzyClassy" to be in the same sentence.   Although some writers may omit "sweet" after your name thinking it obvious and redundant.

Consistent with your sweet nature, you are sensitive.  IMO you have more respect and well wishes at RWD than you perceive.  My few problems with you came from from your idealism, which had some roots in your youth a few years ago.  Unlike many liberal thinkers, you did not exhibit idealistic contempt  and I respect that fact.

I liked Serebro.   I knew that she had some bad breaks in life, which influenced who she was as a person..  Yet what she did was mean spirited.  It disappointed me. From what I know about her I am sure she regretted her act.

Mrs I/O would be somewhat surprised to hear she had given you "bunches of humiliation and double faced attitude". You should understand "friendship" and for that matter, love, does not mean an absence of criticism.

What you have seen happen in this thread is a mini version of what originally happened that led to Serebro's banning.  Let me explain.

Serebro and I had some back and forth within a thread.  We (her & I) got past it and actually exchanged some good PM's back and forth.  After our hatchet was buried and we (her & I) moved on, a third party (Jazzy) continued to stir the pot until more emotions erupted.  In this thread, as in the past one, I stayed clear after Serebro and I came to terms with our disagreement.

Go look back at Dan's and I/O's first posts in this thread and you will again find that Jazzy is AGAIN the source of discontent.  Dan even admitted in this thread that he was melancholy in regard to Serebro until Jazzy started her usual crap.

  Yes she was an interesting woman indeed and caused some interesting happenings here. I stayed clear of her and kept an arms length even when emailed and such things. Thankfully I was never involved in what went on.

I could not see anything that can be used to ridicule in the photos.
