You know, the more I read this forum, the more I understand that I'm not a russian woman Well, of course I can wear high heels (who can't? ), but I usually don't Last time I put them on was the wedding of my best friend 3 years ago As for every day shoes, I think flat high boots are much more practical and at the same time can be very stylish and even sexy, if to wear them properly

And for the record, I look GREAT in heels

Although the Russian women population in America is thin, I can tell you the Russian women I've met always wear high heels out in public. My Russian friend once said to me, "women wearing high heel shoes is basically part of our culture." Have you noticed it is not common to see average AW to wear high heels on.

Ok, the day after Christmas she probably needed tennis shoes to
sprint through the various stores at the shopping mall. RW usually do not wear heels to go shopping. They go shopping to buy more shoes and other stuff.

Actually from what I have heard, in the Russian language this word is not derogatory. I would get embarrassed when my wife would say the n word. In Russia there are so few black people I don't think there is another term for a black person. In Russia black people cannot be called African Americans.

Depends what form of of N word. Negr is normal non offensive word in russian, but nigger is very offensive

She used the word "nigger" and when I said "SHHHHH" she went on to explain how African Americans are monkeys and the president came from the zoo.  When we left the film I didnt even walk next to her, or even near her, and didnt say a word to her and debated walking her back to the car.  The ONLY reason I did walk her to the car is I would have felt bad if she got lost or something.  When we got to the car she actually leaned in for a kiss and I pulled back and said "see ya" and turned my back with her lips still puckered up.  I hope she thinks a lot about why I haven't and will not call her again, but, I doubt she will.

Most of these women are lucky if they have seen two black people in their lives. The remarks are uncalled for. Is this something the parents may have instilled in their daughters? Hatred of a certain group. I don't hear bad comments from older FSU people. Maybe once the women move to the US opinions change.

That sounds pretty hateful. I know my mom used to call one african american actress a little monkey, but she did it with a very loving voice and intonation, it was her favorite actress

I am not sure why russians are so hateful towards other nationalities. I read on this russian immigrant forum, in a topic where they discussed how Switzerland forbade building of minarets, half the people said something to the tone of: pack up those animals and kick them out of the country. Some even suggested to shoot them all, cuz they are dirty and multiply while doing nothing but get social money. That was kinda digusting to read and funny at the same time, all that coming from immigrants themselves? What makes them better than others? Why not pack them up too and kick them out of the country too then ? But yeah, many are irrationally hateful like that.

This irrational hate exists in all nations.  Not always against the same race, but we as humans can be very shallow and cruel when we do not understand someone else, and fear because we do not understand.  It is up to us that can understand and do not hate to set an example and hope others learn from it.

Heard once from the local guy who's 1.75 m tall "If you want to go out with me, you have to wear high heels - as I don't want to be seen in public with such a ridiculous shortie!" - gave him his walking ticket straight away  :evil:

If you wear high heels, you risk injuries all the freaking time here, not to mention having to look at the cobblestones under your feet 100% of the time. Its freaking awful. It seems you have lost the Russian skill.
When I was in Kiev there was a street with worse stones than those, going downhill at an angle I had to pace myself... but women were walking down in high heels like it was a smooth straight asphalt strip.
Guess its just practice.
