It's OFFICIAL!!!!   :D  :D  :D

My wife Svetlana received a phone call today from the Canadian Embassy in Moscow at 4pm, her time, informing her that she has been Granted PERMANENT RESIDENCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :thumbsup:

Well, of course we both want her to arrive today :) but she is finishing up a course and she has to arrange to rent her flat.
Her Medical expires April 1st, so we are looking at March 7th or 14th.
Transero has the best One Way fares, under $600. They only fly Sundays. In fact they are the only airline that has a direct flight from Moscow to Toronto anymore. Of course she'll have some major luggage to contend with, hence the direct flight preference!

I knew you two were a little worried about everything but we had a feeling it would happen soon!
When is Svet planning to come over for good? Let us know ok.

Natasha just walked upstairs and I told her the good news. She breathed a sigh of relief and said that was wonderful!
We're both looking forward to seeing you two again soon! :D

Dave, what was the date of opening for your application in Moscow ? We have no news from Kiev since early November now after the error done between Quebec/Embassy .

Our File was opened on September 2nd at the Canadian Embassy Moscow.

I may be in a position similar to yours in the not too distant future.

Can you give me an idea of the overall time frame?
I mean, from the date you sent out your initial application until the date she was granted a permanent resident visa?

Also, when you say 'permanent resident visa' are you referring also to the 'spousal visa' as being one and the same?

Only 3 1/2 months after our File was opened in Moscow and Sveta never even had to go to Any Immigration Interviews!  8)
Had I paid Sveta's 'Right of Landing Fee' from the beginning, instead of procrastinating until Immigration asked for it, they would have wrapped up our file in November..... less than 3 months!
So if I can give any Canadian men here a piece of advice, it would be to make sure when making the initial Spousal Sponsorship Application you pay ALL Immigration Fees all at once upfront!!
