I did say "production" improvements, not quality))) Just a few days ago I saw an article which was stating that the school lunch programs were started way back when due to the high number of men who were not accepted into the military during war two because of malnutrition.
Pure and natural food is healthier than most of the food like substances you find at the grocery stores today.

I read not long ago that the "rule of thumb" on the quality of food and it's health factor can always be measured by the distance it traveled to get to your table. Makes a lot of sense when you think about it. FWIW

Probably due to the vitamin/protein-enriched baby foods they are fed ::) . However, I've noticed a higher incidence of allergies, possibly because of a more sheltered life that does not exercise their immune system as ours was, playing in our then little-trafficked streets and getting all sorts of bruises, scratches, etc. in the process :D .
Well, they are doing very well exposing babies to germs and extreme conditions in Belgium, if i may believe the enormous amounts of topics about it on the local forum for russians.

All the mommies are terrified. Some examples:

They put children on the toilet, then when they are done, they sit them on the cold dirty tile floor with their naked ass. Or at some schools (here almost everyone goes to school at 2.5) they don't change pampers. ever. So they run around with pampers full, all day long. At other schools they dont wipe boogers. Ever. So they run around with giant boogers all over their faces. They don't make them put on hats when going outside, and dont zip them up, and dont tie their shoes, and in very many schools they dont give any food, so the children are supposed to eat what they brought from home (sandwiches). Also when they go outside, the children just sit around on the cold asphalt, because all the 'schools' where children from 2.5 and older go have no playgrounds at all. They only have a large fenced bare asphalt area, lucky if there is one bench present, but that's it, apart from that bench the area is completely empty, just asphalt and kiddies, at 99% of schools that i've seen. During the sleep break, at some schools children are put to sleep in their full outside clothing, including shoes. At others they are put to sleep on bare wooden benches, without any linen or mattresses, in other schools just on little mats on the floor, at other schools no sleep breaks at all. Really spartan conditions. )) But now it's cold outside i see tons of girls running around in short skirts and thin tights, short jackets, necks and other parts exposed, tiny summer shoes too. Locals don't seem to be phased by cold at all. )) Maybe such upbringing has its pluses? Lol. But most of the russian mommies on the forum are absolutely terrified. Although some do report good schools where all the things they want are done, but those are in a very small minority.

Based on my observations, RW shelter their children too much.  I first attributed it to brutal weather, yet I now think that this is ingrained mentality.  And when a child becomes ill, RW use too much medication.

This is just my opinion.

So they run around with pampers full, all day long.

And, to make things worse, the labeling on those pampers is misleading.

For instance, some packages say "12 to 14 pounds,"  but actually they will not hold nearly that much.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Gator, that some Russian mothers shelter their children too much I would agree, but regarding too much medication I'm not sure. At least I did not meet so many such Russian mothers. But the fact the US is addicted to different kind of medications is for sure  ;D

Better to come to Sweden - our kindergartens are absolutely first rate. Where my daughter goes they serve organic home made foods (including baking their own bread), warm comfortable sleeping quarters, great playgrounds, loads of toys and regular activities. Parents can attend at any time, just drop in and hang around and help out. The staff ratio is very good, my daughters class has about 17 and there is normally 3 or 4 staff on.

The children are not pampered, but neither are they neglected - and what you describe is neglect  and I would be horrified if my child was subject to such treatment also. Don't blame people for being terrified, its sounds horrible.

FYI, the teenage girls here run around in short skirts and thin tops in -10 also, its fashion over function at that age, soon enough they are back in their bulky jackets and jeans :)
My search was going so well, then life intervened... but I'm back!

haha. thats a good one. Well he isn't short, he is taller than me, but i said "compared to the rest". Have you noticed how tall the newer generations are? Every generation people get taller and taller.

For sure, I visited some historic houses in Sweden last year, just a few hundred years old and the ceilings and doors are so low even I had to stoop to get through some of them. The beds were tiny, it was like miniature land or something. I am 170, short for Sweden, most guys are 175 and up, Swedes put it down to improved nutrition and healthcare and probably some genetics in there as well.

Dude, if you trawled through a few Swedish/RW forums I'm pretty sure you'd find them complaining about something (and probably a lot more) with the kindergartens there. Over this side of the border in Norway, a bunch of them have a great time ripping into the school system and don't get onto the subject of the Barnevakt  >:( or you'll never hear the end of it. lol

Ade, Jeff you get the same thing in the UK.  RW or usually any new immigrant will complain about something in society.  RW in the UK especially like to complain that the school system isn't as strict as in Russia, yet the UK has some of the best universities in the world and Russia doesn't.  When this is pointed out to them and they're asked how could this be if the school system is so bad they usually just go quiet and change the topic.  Don't tell any of the FSUW on this site but I think it's genetic.  ;)

Some FSUW just like to find something to moan about. I'm so lucky that my wife is one of the ones that has common sense and she just shakes her head when she hears these women complaining about the most bizarre things. Either the system here is too protective or not protective enough or... well, there's no winning.  :D

Sorry, but what is your point - that people complain? Big deal, people complain everywhere. Stating the obvious is rather redundant don't you think, albeit with a healthy dose of assumption and anecdotal evidence thrown in for good measure...

The post I replied to describes a level of childcare and a specific ideology that drives that, here in Scandinavia its very different - that's the point, dude.

Bad day, huh?

Actually my point was that there is no such thing as a perfect system for some. That they will always find something to complain about and will even choose to believe the fantasies and the ravings of mad women if it gives them something to use. I'd even say that I'd be highly suspect of the complaints reported in Belgium or at least I wouldn't tar the entire system with the same brush.

What is the occasion for the photos of the kids out in the snow.... and smiling!
Maybe I was pampered, I can't imaging me smiling under these conditions :)

Yes, many Americans are overmedicated.

I have spent time with three different RW who became ill with a flu.  Each became hyper about wanting antibiotic medication at the early stages.  Frequent use of antibiotics allows strains of bad bugs to develop some immunity to them.  I have used antibiotics but wait until after the usual treatments fail.
