I think men are much better judges of what is a pretty woman then women are.
We all have our own reasons for looking elsewhere for a wife. I'll tell you this: If word got out that there was a million gorgeous, college educated women with killer accents in Toledo Ohio, there would be a stampede like has never been seen.

RW are "too straight" while you never know what is on AW's mind- she can be smiling at you and thinking quite bad about you, the latter being just American manner.

Russian women appear to be straight because English or American language is not their first language, therefore they say things .....as is! Sometimes they sound very blunt because they have not the gift of a car salesman!

On the other hand most male posters would not admit that they went to the FSU to find a woman, above their level in terms of appearance (they want them slim, very pretty and young) and then when the divorce becomes a reality they wonder where and why they went wrong.

Women all over the world are just about the same and only the cultural differencies exist between them, which make them to look different. The difference between an AW and a RW is AW don't hesitate to break a relartionship and divorce them and on the way due to your matrimonial laws take you to the cleaners, where RW due to their historical norms over there have more tennacity to stay married and preserve the family concept till it becomes impossible and then when they get back their confidence in the new country they move on.

In my OP I surmised the various trait characteristics which can be found in countles comments on this board and added my own experience. That is all what I did but if so many people say make the same comments about RW isn't that a fact Marcus?

sure continue to delude yourselves with that view and don't realise how isolated you become from your acquentances and friends and then when you feel suffocated......it is too late and divorce becomes the only solution to get rid of your unhappy life.

You don't have to agree with what I say but take your pink glasses off and read all the comments other people make here and then you will understand why 2008 was a huge disaster year for our international community and why so many married people divorced. When doing that just make sure you keep an eye to see if there is a pattern in these divorces?

The high stragedy approach most of you have taken, now shows its ugly face and people like Marcus can claim that the "One week wonder " has worked for him, but it's abandon clear that it didn't for most other people.

Let me remind you what "Groovlsk" said before he got married, when he was dating his now wife!

I prefer to think that most women are magnificent when they are with the right man and vice versa. (getting the right two together is the catch)
In the FSU there are more available women, who place more emphasis on beauty, which is allways of interest to men.

Actually if you know Russian and how things are said in Russia you will find that they are really straight and blunt. Which is refreshing, and actually much more appreciated by me
as the 'correctness' and hype that restrict the Western freedom of expression.

I don't know the OP, but I would speculate that his opinion is based on a narrow sample of FSU women. I don't dispute that he has made several trips and met plenty women, just the women might not be a true representation of the larger population. I do believe that both the women and the men in the FSU can be more competitive and opportunistic (in general and not in a necessarily bad way), because the way of life in the FSU lends itself to this.
As far as the available women go, I am sure there are good looking, good at heart, available women in the US (not as many as the FSU though). It's just that a man would have to get up off his zhopa to go and meet them (as they are all not in one place). On the internet man has access to thousands without getting up from his chair.
Of course I am a little playing here, there is so much to the whole picture.

I remember getting the 6am phone call from Ms. KrivoyRog from the mining district saying the train had arrived and she would be at my apartment in ten minutes.  I step out on the sidewalk in the snow wondering if the cab would be bringing high-heeled Ms. Right this time. 

The taxi arrives...she steps out...I see the hiking boots...the jeans...the ski parka...and the wool sock hat.  I step closer...no makeup...no new hairdo.......hmmm, this one was different.  We walk to the corner pastry shop for juice and a snack.  Then I take her next street over to the Khreschatyk Hotel for a rest until lunch.

Later she wants to go watch the football game on TV.  We taxi to the sports bar which is is noisy and overflowing with party animals.  The doorman recommends another location across town.  We walk in sports bar #2, there are a few bowlers in the alleys on the right.  We play a game of pool,  they charge me $20 for one game.  We then sink into the leather love seat and watch the finish of the football game.  Ukraine wins.   The lights dim and the music starts in the disco...

Stereotypes, as they (whoever 'they' are) say, do have that very small element of truth to give us the wonderful joy of exaggeration.  

Now, aside from the FSU universities obviously offering graduate degrees in Artful Argument Sciences (that particular stereotype is absolutely true in my experience). However, the more I have been around this argumentative nature, the more I see that it's really nothing.  Dealing with it is kind of an acquired skill (and taste actually), mostly in learning to relate to someone who is smiling, happy, pissed off, arguing, then seducing you into the bedroom.... all within a period of approximately 7 minutes.

FSUW are both overrated and underrated, depending upon with whom you speak.  They're just people with the spectrum of positive and negative character and personality traits inherent in all of us.

I sure as heck ain't perfect, so what would a "perfect" woman want with someone as messed up as me?   :evil:

That's very true.......in my case I have put weight on since my marriage.

I also have put on some weight.
If RW mention they are not good in cooking it is mostly because they compare to their mothers and grandmothers. When compared to Western Women, they master the art of cooking a lot better.

Even the pot bellies get lucky now and then.  My grandfather from eastern Europe came to US in the 20's with one suitcase and $50.  Became disenchanted with city factory life, bought a farm and married a country girl about the size of the guy in the bus seat. 

I wonder how many of the downtrodden UM/RM would want to follow in his footsteps.  We have plenty of similar ladies here.
