In my mind I pronounced it as-sa-men'-a, not ass'-a-men-a.

Simoni I recall years ago your skepticism about Blues Fairy, thinking her an American posing as a RW.

Ah, you get an "A" in linguistics, Gator!  That is the way it is pronounced.

Yes, Blues Fairy has such excellent English that I did suspect her as not being a RW.  But then she made one mistake that only a RW would make in a post, and I knew I was wrong :-)   She quickly corrected it, so her English remains near-perfect in her posts.

Assamena:

You say Yanukovich is offering 200 UAH and a bus ticket for a day of demonstration.

How about the other candidates? What are they paying for enthusiastic demonstrators?

How about the other candidates?

I'm sure they pay for advertising too.

Almost every weekend during the few times I was in Kiev, the main street that runs through Independence Square would be closed down with nice looking modern but dirty buses parked along the street. The buses were dirty I suspect from traveling long distances on dirty roads.

The crowd would wave their various flags and signs and some guy or woman would be yapping away on a bullhorn. Based on their tone of voice I sometimes felt as if they were giving out hate speeches not much different than what Hilter once did to win over the people of Germany.

Yes Billy I know, I was just curious what the rates are this year. Seems inflation has struck the campaign trail. Last election it was 60-90 UAH per day for demonstrators. Pay depends on location and willingness to carry signs, etc.

My nick name does not mean anything what you are thinking about.
And it's interesting, I use this nik name for long time, and any Russian men have never think to cut "ass" from other part! And this is not because they do not speak English, 70% of Russian men will say in one min what means "ass".
And only in this forum men are so interested to know why I have such nikname.
Does it says about your good features??
I do not think so.
Or maybe your Russian wives do not give you enough sex, that's why you all see everywhere something which can means close to sex - like ass, boobs, etc.

Just pity.
Few more days on this site and I will lost idea to find foreigner forever.

Looking at the sh!t she erupted in her post #34 and #36, I concluded that she was aware of what the three letters meant and chose to go with them because their meaning perfectly described her personality.

Wrong. Once again, a native speaker would NOT pronounce that word that way.

How about some of you not being so mean-sprited here?   She was attacked for no reason by BF, and I don't blame her for responding.

VWRW:  Your gender is missing from your profile.  Please go to your profile and show your gender so you will have a nice pink ribbon by your name when you post :-)))

It is a common courtesy to show gender if your name is sex-less.

That was hardly an attack and could have been considered considerate, in case she didn't know what it meant. The nature of BF's post I thought was tongue in cheek. The emoticons are used for that purpose, are they not?

Well, thanks, I'm not silly, to do not know what means "ass", or how I coud write here so many posts???
That "kind woman" knew pretty good, what level of English I have, because I mentioned before - it's intermediate.

Do you think person with such level do not know what is ass?

Just funny :)

Assamena, It's always good to have a nice girl from the Kharkov region posting here. I'm rather fond of that area. I have to ask if you know a guy named Dmitry? He used to run the agency Kharkovgirls. Nice guy. He actually helped me line up our wedding and he's in some of our pictures. We lost contact a few years ago and I'd like to make contact with him again so he can see that his efforts are still paying off.LOL

Well I understood that woman, as russian understand russians people.

If she woud say me that in face, believe me, it woud not be nice joke.

She is joking about me being sarcastic, it's unpolite and unnormal.

And I know one person Dima, who works with agecy, but do not know name that agency.
Does his age like 32-35 and he is crazy driver of beauty cars? :)

I didn't and I see most of BF's posts as direct and to the point.

A lot of others? How many is that? 1? 3? 12? I find it difficult to believe you've been swamped with thanking emails on the subject. Unless it was of course from the 2 or 3 single members that are swooning over her.

Of course we do! And she has been quite welcomed. This is for the most part an adult forum and everyone should be treated as such. You think someone should be treated with kinder, gentler words because she is a young 21 and attractive?  :wallbash:
