Well she has only been single for two years. Why is it so impossible to believe 3 people from the same family cant all speak English?
Now if you think a woman wrote me the email with "thankyou" 47 times in a row, which one was it? Mother or daughter and why would they do it? Whats the point?
I think the father was really scared he would lose his daughter, its really all he has to live for. If she moves here he will never see his grandchildren grow up and hardly see his only daughter. I think that would be hard for any man in any country to accept.

facetrock, Ukraine has a very macho culture.  This is just not something a Ukrainian man would write.  99.99% of Ukrainian men would never email you.  But many, knowing of your existence, would let you visit, milk you for cash, and then threaten you. I could believe it as a one off, if other odd facts weren't also popping up.

Many great looking women over 35 and on up to mid 50's in Ukraine.

As the Dev's age, their metabolism slows down and the high-starch diet begins to catch up on them at the same time that they're losing their competitive edge and starting to think about becoming grandmothers.

I noticed that there are Curves and small gyms sprouting up targeting women plus there is the whole vegetarian movement to give them a fighting chance at staying slim. It's a losing battle though. Average weight is going up all across Europe and the trend is spreading eastward. It goes with being an industrialized country.

  20 years ago Boethius I would agree with your comment about speaking Spanish in North Dakota, but not any more. The USA has changed and so has Ukriane. The ex husband does some traveling with the bank and works with foreigners and had to learn English. His wife went to classes with him too. It was free so what the hell. The daughter learned it at the University.
  He already threatened me in the first letter, castaration with a dull knife. He said it was an American saying so I would understand it. I got the message. He has no interest in me now since he understands I am chasing the ex.

And another thing about the daughter. All I ever heard from her is " Will you buy me a Mercedes, will you buy me a BMV, can I go on trips." On and on and on it went. Then the mother started to ask the same questions and I agreed to buy her a BMW. But I told her the first time she drove it would be to the airport to use her one way ticket back to Ukraine. Havent heard a word since about it.
The daughter already has a car, paid for by the father. Some kind of little Ukrainian car. Mother has no car but got the flat.
Daughter wants to upgrade at my expense. This isnt my first rodeo, wont happen. She gets to stay in Ukraine and I get to keep my testicles. Sounds like a fair deal to me.

BF. Mother agrees with me. The father has done everything in his power to drive a wedge between them. Gifts, trips, clothes, new car.
You get the picture. Mother makes 300 dollars a month working in a clothes factory running a sewing machine.

Face I got no beef with this approach, my hat's off to you for thinking outside the box and getting results.

But what you just said upthread about cars strikes me this way: The mother is smart enough to shut up (for now) about it while the daughter isn't. The mother will simply wait until she has her claws firmly embedded into you and then it'll be another story.

You say the father spoiled the child? I believe you. But before the child came along who do you think he was spoiling? Mom's just got a lot more life experience at handling men then her offspring does...be careful.

Jolly, I am sure their will be some expectations from the model that will have to be talked about and settled on before she comes here or if she ever does. Honestly I wouldnt mind having a BMV :
And I dont doubt that she is very clever and can manipulate me in some ways. But all women like to manipulate their hubbys to a certain extent. I think it makes them feel good when they do. Kind of a little power trip. If it keeps the peace no big deal to me.
The word manipulate in a marriage can be sustituted in most cases with compromise.

If she comes here and finds out the streets are not paved with gold from my wallet she is going to be permanently on the rag and her mother knows this. She is 20 years old. Not a kid anymore. She doesnt even live with either parent. Rents a flat from the money her father gives her.
One more thing. If the model comes here she says I have to promise to have another child with her. She always wanted another one but the ex would never agree to it.  At 39 she is in great shape and not to old to do it. I have no problem with this and look forward to having another one.

I tried to throw as many cliches in it as possible. A 50 year old guy taking what would have to be the weirdest approach man can think of. Gloating over a mother and daughter competing for his attention. The daughter spoiled rotten and the mother to clever to let her real intentions known but obvious none the less. The 50 year old American man to blind to see it. A drunk Russian ex husband that cheats, cant forget that cliche or myth if you want to call them that. The mother being a former model, desperate, making clothes in a factory is another good cliche.
I am sure I missed some too.

Why did I do it? When I first posted it I thought it would be a good quick laugh but then people started to believe it. Cliches and all. I was actually dumbfounded.
Well then my imagination took off and I went temporarily insane.
Yes I am a little cynical about all this but so are most men that have been at it awhile.
