Flowers and stuffed animals in pictures
« on: February 05, 2010, 10:17:44 PM »
Am I the only one that finds it strange that many RW have pictures of themselves on dating sites with stuffed animals and flowers? Gifts that are obviously from other men. Not that there is anything wrong with single women dating other men but I find it a bit strange. Do not think I have seen it on a western dating site. Is there something I am missing here culturally?
I have been told that Teddy bears mean the man is good with kids?  Somebody please enlighten me ...

Links?

I do know that ladies from the FSU countries love flowers.
Love getting them
Love having them
And more important than Valentines Day is Womans Day...

I think women and flowers is an international thing  :)

I could post thousands of links in just a couple minutes. I see it on so many RW profiles. Here are a few random ones from just one site I was looking at now.

http://freepersonals.ru/profile?id=291837;
http://freepersonals.ru/profile?id=330644;
http://freepersonals.ru/profile?id=336072;
http://freepersonals.ru/profile?id=332935;pid=558731;

I mean, the woman (girl?) in the last link baffles me....looking sexy, but has a Teddy bear?
There must be some cultural explanation.

If a woman decides to get pictures taken by a (semi-) professional photographer there is a chance that she is nervous as how to hold her hands. In that case holding something like flowers or a teddybear will help.
Another possibility is hat thye are gifts from other men, and she got a copy of the picture. Nothing wrong with that, unless you are looking for a woman who hat not ever gotten attention from another man and has waited all her life just for you to be the only person to write. In that case, good luck.  ;D

This might be a little off topic but reminds me of some AW.

I always wondered what was up with with women who have stuffed animals(small ones) laying on the dash and in the rear windows of their cars?? :ROFL:

I went on a couple of dates with a AW who had these stuffed animals in her rear window. Needless to say, things were not right. :wallbash:

To be polite, I will say I dont know what it means about the stuffed animals all over the place.  :-\ .....................But I have opinions. :-X

I bet most flower photos are from birthdays, gifts are not nesessary from boyfriends. Every normal woman would take a photo just for a memory.

I would classify young girls with Teddy bears as still infantile.

Women with phones means no feeling comfortable in front of the camera when they tried to make "a natural photo" with the special propose for the profile.

It's in general. But as always there are exceptions :)

I assume most are gifts from other men and the pictures are her copy of the flower delivery. I agree there is nothing wrong with single women dating other men and would myself not even consider dating a woman without any other relationship or life experience. Just don't tell me about it. At least to start. I would not post a pic of myself holding two plane tickets to an exotic vacation..... you get the idea.

I don't understand why the turn off? Was there some childhood trauma with your stuffed Snoopy toy? I never noticed more stuffed animals when I was searching. Probably a reason to shy away from those women is the posed photos more than the objects in the set design. JMO

Am I the only one that finds it strange that many RW have pictures of themselves on dating sites with stuffed animals and flowers?

Here is an example. My wife went to Russia this summer. Her mother celebrated her 60th birthday and they bought her a nice bouquet. My wife then took dozens and dozens of photos of her mother with the bouquet, her sister with the bouquet, her niece with the bouquet... I am sure my wife and her family are not the only ones who would do this.

I am sure you were looking in an older age category than the OP.

Misha, all girls agree with you. All men see their own reasons - gifts from other men! As always  ;D

Misha -great example

and i agree-
I would sweet it alex.. especially if its an agency site, as it often just a photographers "prop"
(i realize you posted links from a free site though)

as far as agencies, you'll start to notice several particular photographers "style"
(which likely has nothing at all to do with the womans personality)

examples ,one photogs favorite  prop seems to be with large empty photo frames,
another is particular chairs and particular provocative poses with them.. or
indeed stuffed animals ..or heart shaped stuffed chair..

The odd thing i see on the free sites like free personals or mamba?
huge sunglasses.
if it's your "lead" photo.. a huge pair of sunglasses ,that noone could possibly ever tell what you look like..
is probably NOT a good choice......but it's incredibly common.

RW- no need to dump all *us men*  into one pot to cook..     ;)

I don't assume a teddy bear is some gift from another man, or flowers....

and if they are, it would never bother me, as the women is obviously now single and looking ..

I wish this  woman was to show photos of herself ,with her  bugatti veyron -

I think this is her request to a candidate. If you have one, you can send your application to her :)

Men who have cool cars also have car pictures in profiles, with themselves or without  ;D

Gifts that are obviously from other men.

It is not necessary the gifts from other men but I of course don't exclude such situations.  Flowers can be presented during special occasions as birthday, 8 March, graduation and so on by friends, colleagues and relatives and teddy bears as well can be presented and bought. I remember I personally took photos of my friends and relatives with presented flowers during the celebrations as a memory and I also have a few photos of me with flowers presented me at different occasions, but honestly I did not have them posted in my profile.  Probably women post such photos because of a popular idea that a combination of a woman and flowers is very romantic and beautiful.

I have my concern about photos of adult women hugging teddy bears. There is something very infantile in such pics and even sometimes ridicules about a 30-40 y.o. woman's photo with a lonely melancholic look cuddling up to a fluffy toy...   But it is just my own personal perception.

Perhaps because the girls who present themselves surrounded by teddy bears and stuffed toys are obviously looking for a father figure?  A middle-aged man might find that appealing, but our OP is rather too young.  ;)

I didn't notice the toys but wouldn't have found it appealing or offensive. The fact that the photo was staged would have been a yellow flag for me as I seemed to be drawn to the natural setting pics. Photos staged with toys, furs, phones always left a cheesy impression with me.  :D

LOL...so I take it there is no cultural significance to Roosevelts namesake then. I have to side with the women that it is indicative of a womans maturity level in many cases.

I've always thought it was normal to have flowers in a photo, but not a teddy bear and flowers :(

This is my take on it....

I believe that most of these pictures are taken by Agencies and or Florists, who are asked by Western Men to get a photo of the Delivery, to prove to them that the girl they are communicating with is indeed real.
Honestly, I always believed that this method of 'Verification' is in Very bad taste. Sorry guys, but it really is sad and disrespectful.
How would you feel on the receiving end knowing that the flowers, teddy bear and chocolates all accompanied with a photo, are more for your own self confidence/esteem and trust issues than it is for remembering a happy occasion? I don't think it's right and it must make some Women feel really uncomfortable.
So, when I see these pictures with a Woman holding a Teddy Bear and Flowers it just hits me the wrong way.

I think you make my point that many are overlooking. Of course flowers are given as birthday gifts, or by ex boyfriends, or holidays, as well as numerous other occasions. It just seems poor judgement to use those pictures on your DATING profile. We are talking about dating profiles, not family photos with flowers at the airport...

The woman I am crazy about btw sent me a photo of herself with a bouquet while wearing those stupid looking enormous sunglasses. I realize that the sunglasses are in style currently and that the bouquet of daisies were probably given to her by her brother who had just arrived in town. Either that or a hint for us dumb guys that V-day is fast approaching  ;)

I agree with you 100%. I find it strange nobody else catches this on the forum. I find it a horrible practice and shows zero trust. I am reluctant to even send flowers due to this. I will be sending the woman I am talking to flowers soon and have specifically requested that no photo is taken.
