The only one throwing BS is YOU. Don't sugarcoat this because all it does is cause a greater culture shock for when American males finally get to Russian with fairytale dreams in their eyes. My eyes have seen too many sheep eating by wolves in Russia..

Respectfully, as the thread plays out you get the big picture. If you lived in Russia like me, then you would truly understand what I am doing..

You must have lived in Russia for a while as you make quite the odd errors posting. Quite often, you get your tenses wrong, and you often do not put articles where any native speaker of English would know that there should be an article... In other words, you make errors that are not the typical typos or grammatical errors an English-speaking American would make. If anything, you make some mistakes that I would expect from a Russian-speaker who is using English as their second language...

But not least to note, Amerikanski is the 3rd AM I know living, or had lived, in country to have the conviction he does that while it's fun to date RWs, they won't marry one. I mean, think about it: those of us who managed to get to this point already had the blinders ripped off our eyes after our first few trips and much of our energy here is consumed with debunking the myths and marriage agency BS that, ironically, bring newbs to RWD in the first place

Well there are probably as many reasons as there are women having affairs with married men: some fall in love, some like the attention, some are doing it for financial gain/benefits, some didn't know that their lover was married, some are doing it in the hopes of finding a husband.....

I don't have statistics, but I would think that these affairs in Canada are not commonplace.

What I'd like to know is if they are commonplace in Russia and the reasons why if they are, since this thread seems to be based upon generalizations anyways.

Just out of curiosity, what sugarcoating are you seeing here, exactly? While this place overall isn't as harsh in tone as another similar forum I've been perusing, I wouldn't quite call it sugarcoating. Although at the same time, there's quite a few people I see that post in this forum (as well as a few others) who could use a healthy dose of common sense kicked into them.

The reasons I gave you are the reasons why RW would have an affair. The main difference: the concept of the "sponsor" is much more prevalent in Russian society. A sponsor is a man, usually married, who will pay to have a mistress. Usually, the wife knows about it and will tolerate it. Why would she tolerate it? Usually, she does not have much of a choice. Invariably, if she were to leave her husband, she would lose much if not everything as he would have a better chance of convincing the judge as to why his version of the facts are more accurate   Sometimes the wife hopes that by keeping her husband, he will come back to her. Yet other times, she figures that her children will have priority as they will be the "official" children.

Why would a woman want to be sponsored? Well, for money. Does this happen solely in Russia? No, as I am sure there are many married men on sites such as sugar daddies (or daddy?) that are looking for similar relationships with women in the United States and Canada. Also, I believe there are a number of North American sites where men and women look for partners to have affairs with, so you should be careful as to not underestimate the prevalence of adultery in Canada.

Not too favorably, I presume. If so, not much different here in the US. Most Russian immigrants living here that arrived here other than the K-visas have very little regards for those that did.

It's NOT about YOU or your wife. It's about the new American that goes to Russia and gets eye mugged by Russian and not understanding why.. Again, my thread is about helping Americans in Russia NOT Married Canadians. I have never seen so many thread-jackers in one place it's amazing.
