One of the things I really miss about travelling in the countryside, is the little picnics we had along the side of the roads while "on our way" here or there. Lil's mamma would pack everything from ham to hard boiled eggs, toss in some coffee, wine or piva (depending on time of day) and we would just stop in an empty field and eat. When I was a child, the same could be done here in the US, but not so much anymore :(. Your pictures of the roads to your dacha bring back some of those happy memories for me :).

Only 4 hours to the middle of nowhere....

I doubt if I could find such a place in my country. But I doubt if I could drive 4 hours in my country without leaving it :D
