Can a leopard change her spots?

Did the occupation choose the woman or the woman the occupation?

Would you be comfortable when/if she shows pictures of her work parties in the family scrapbook?

Will she teach your friends' wives to pole dance in your game room?

What occupational advice will she offer your children?

These are questions you answer although you need to gauge your sensitivity to how others will view her, both friends and family.

Good luck.

i believe that whatever you are doing as your job, whatever you are wearing, whatever you are driving, whatever other people say about you - it doesn't change one simple thing - it doesn't change who you are :)

thanks :)

Mialia may I also suggest as an option for your pole poll:

7.) stripping is OK as long as the money is used for "educational" purposes only. :rolleyes2:

Probably depends just as much on the man as the woman.

There's a fitting top for every kettle.

In general would think it's more about whether or not the topic is even known/discussed in the first place.  If so, then at least a level playing field is probably healthy.  If not, might be a surprise down the road - even if only remotely possible considering the long distances involved..

ECOCKS forgets that they don't have spots in the first place.  On the street or even in bed probably impossible to detect.

The easy answer to this for me is...if we got into a relationship, I would hope she would stop and seek a job doing other things less risque.

Ultimately however, IMO, I think this decision rests more squarely on the woman than the man.

Simply questions posed to the OP. Then it turns out he's already made his decision and that's the only one that counts.

Mialia, what this says is that the woman is not capable of gainful employment in a professional field.  That type of woman would probably never interest me.  Brains are just as important to me as beauty.

Also, there are different types of strip dancing.  Please describe the strip act and the club.

In 2002 I went to a club in St. Piter that had strip dancing by men and women, alternating between music acts and comedy acts.  My date from out-of-town date wanted to go to a fun club with music, dancing and strip shows.  This seemed harmless.

Funny thing happened.  One male stripper pulled a RW from the audience and cleverly got her to take her top off.  The RW's date was furious and walked out.  That amused me and the audience, so maybe it was part of the act.

At the other end of the spectrum are clubs where the RW does her strip act, puts her bikini back on, and then talks with customers.  She hustles cocktails or perhaps visits to a private room where some form of sexual act is transacted for money.

Some strippers bare everything.  And others may show what you might see at a public beach.

Gator.. its not about the nudity or even what goes on in a private room..

its about the motivations of the stripper.. is she desperate and incapable of getting any other kind of job.. or..

is she sexually liberated and really loves her work...

both typologies exist.

I suppose that it would depend on the people involved. If the man had never been in a strip club, he might be quite upset. If the man was a strip club regular, he would be quite the hypocrite if he was upset.

I know I had a friend that dated a stripper many years ago. She was a really nice girl. Personally, if I liked the girl, I would deal with it. As said up thread, it would depend on the 'services' that she performed.

Since the question was about a strip dancer lets assume she wasn't also selling sex. if she was just a dancer I have no problems there if she was also selling it on the side different story but I am not sure what I would say then.. I was a male entertainer here when I was younger did it for 10 years traveling all over about 5 weeks out of the year and a few weekends. I at the time had a few local pole dancers I was acquainted with and for the most part they were more interested in the drink and drugs more than the work. there were maybe a hand full of girls that were either just divorced and needed cash and a couple putting them self threw school. I know one guy who actually got his wife to start doing it for fun. I am guessing making 70,000 a year to shake the money maker isn't bad when most folks around here only make 50,000. this is what was made 20 years ago not sure what they make now. back then where I live they couldn't even go topless of course that has changed now :)

My opinion on that would be just to learn your own fiancee or wife to strip-dance for you in private ;) This way you should get a quality wife and a strip-dancer in one  :D

In reading down through, I was thinking of posting something along these same lines. Lily beat me to it.

Belly dancing classes are quite popular in many cities around the world; and high class wives are enrolled.  They mostly give private performances for their man, and  also do it for the fitness aspect.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

As a point of perspective, Shotgun Willie's is a long-term Denver area establishment offering live strip-dancers, and has been for .... well, it must be 30 or more years.

Recently the female owner of the club was interviewed by The Denver Post. Here is the interview - http://www.denverpost.com/entertainment/ci_15571341.

They have more than 180 dancers employed at any time, and she makes some excellent points about the younger ones, and also the motivations of many of the dancers.

Just FYI

I was a bartender in a strip club.  Sometimes the cliches apply, and sometimes they are just regular girls playing a role.

I wouldn't care if she had (or did) dance in a strip club. I think our character is not defined by what we do, but rather by how we do it.

I wonder if women working in the FSU adult industry may find it enticing to find a partner overseas with little or no chance of her past work catching up with her.  Same might feel it unnecessary to even discuss past work with her new partner, classifying it as geographically irrelevant.
