Sure, men who look like your avatar are attractive by nature... but women need to go the extra mile.  

it sure appears to be that way in Russia. just walk around any evening and watch couples walking by - a woman dressed up: beautiful high heel shoes, pretty dress or a sexy, dressy skirt with a nice dressy top, fish net stockings, hair and make up all done. And her guy has a pair of shorts and a t-shirt on or Adidas sports outfit. Very casual and completely mismatched with how his girl is dressed. It's considered completely normal IMO.
This is not as pronounced in Moscow or St.Pete as it is in smaller cities, but to me, personally, it is always amazing to see nice looking, in shape, well dressed RW hanging out with RM who look like drunk bums. In my personal experience it appears that men don't need to try at all in Russia whilst women have to and do try a lot harder. It is 180 degrees opposite from the US.

Funny thing is that RW who live in Russia have a very hard time believing me when I tell them how things are here in the US. It is very typical when my clients and their RW finally meet and get to know each other for a few days that they tell each other: "I can't believe a man like you can't find a woman to marry in the US/Canada!!!" To which he appropriately responds: "Well, I can't believe that a girl like you can't find a man to marry here in Russia!!!". Fact is, that even an average looking guy who will not even get the second look from AW here in the US will get plenty of interest from RW when in Russia.

exactly! It is hard for RW living in Russia to imagine that there is a completely different reality elsewhere. And it is hard to make them believe it. Their first thought is that something must be wrong with the guy! I guess you are already in Canada, Lily? I remember a couple of years ago I was telling you about this situation here in Tampa Bay, Florida and you didn't want to believe me, remember? Well, now you see it with your own eyes, don't you? And it is even worse in some areas than others...

It is obvious for me, at least in the public places. Downtown after hours look a little better, but anyway, it is very far from what I used to see in any Russian city. People are just very diverse here, unlike in Russia.

Lilly, it is interesting that people do not really understand the history of places lke the US, or maybe Canada as well. The US is a land of immigrants. The only "true" Americans were the Indians. You go to Italy and there are predominately Italians. Same for countries like France, Spain, and Russia. Most of the people living countries like these are decendants form their home country. Here, people came from OTHER countries. The English, French, Spaniards (How do you think cities like San Diego or Los Angeles got their names--Spanish !), then the Dutch, Irish, Italians, Africans, Russians, Chinese and more. The US is a true melting pot of many different cultures and heritages. I would think that if you polled even 10% of the people living in New York City, you would come up with 100 countires from which they could claim ancestors.  I consider myself an America, Born and Raised. But my mother was born in Italy and my fathers ancestors came fom Holland in 1642. Diverse is an excellent word.

That woman's income is $50-75k.  Certainly not desperate, and that is good.  She smokes so that eliminates her from my preliminary list, as if she would be interested in me.

Your experience seems to be completely different from mine in a couple of respects.

First, women in my family and others I know, don't go through menopause until late 50s to early 60s.

Second, after menopause, they have zero interest in sex.  So I don't view that as 'best part.'

Yes, I know that hormone treatments can restore sex drive for these women, but most don't want to take such because of the more recent medical studies showing can lead to increased risk of heart or cancer problems.  The studies have raised a furor though, and are subject to interpretation, as I understand it.

I can answer the OP's question easily.  I looked for a RW because I could get a better woman there.  That's the reason most everyone here is looking/did look for a RW.  The bonus was I like the culture and learned the language already before going.
