I guess some don't. Most guys who contact me about RW have this notion that they are all little sweet, beautiful angels. You and I know that this is not the case and that there are all kinds of women in the FSU. But many WM have been misinformed.

Gee Eduard, what's wrong with those guys?

Eduard, I'm starting to wonder if you actaully realize that almost everything you post is slanted to promote you and your business. It gets a a little tedious when your propaganda is injected into every other thread and sometimes even every other post in every other thread.

From what I've heard I guess people like you and Jack provide a reasonable service for those less fortunate but dude, really, we get you, we really do and there's no need to keep harping on about how much men need you. Those that really do need you don't need to be told over and over and all you're doing with the incessant self promotion is putting people off. So stop with the over-sell.

I don't know Eduard, so i don't dislike or like him. I think not a lot of people in FSU in the marriage jobs are honest, for a moderate price, and in a professional way. You are right they don't need to promote themselves each post, they need to understand that intelligent people will choice them because they are an intelligent choice, WHEN customers need. And it's not because OP don't consent each line for what they write that OP are stupids or cannot success.
I don't agree simply with Eduard and i have my own knowledge and analysis, my own point of view. It's not because people don't agree with them and uses a different route that we are a threat for their business.

Agreed.

While Eduard may be simplifying a bit, I am amazed at the WM who are continually falling victim to the scams and being "played" by the self-centered semi-pro serial daters and amateur hooker types.

Even looking at those who drift ashore on the RWD beach we regularly see examples of the gullible and naive who have recently been reeled in or begun to nibble the bait and then decided to seek second (3rd, 4th, 5th...) opinions on the reality of their fantasy being true as self-doubt and the occasional friend has warned them this was "too good to be true".

How many never show up here or lurk but talk themselves out of asking in their desperate need for believing that they are about to land a model wife to show off to the boys back home? How many fly each year and then sit alone at Friday's or in those $90/night apartments alone, heartsick and depressed over being such fools?

I know that on most any given summer day I could walk Kreshatyk or turn on my radar over near Baseniya for an hour or two and find three or four easily. Like cockroaches, if I find 3-4 that way, I believe there were 30-40 (or more) in town that day.

You don't have to "know" Eduard to like him or dislike him. He seems hellbent on insuring that. I suspect he's probably a likable guy in person but, his you are either "With me or against me" approach is a bit nauseating. Eddie has a niche and valuable service to a select group of guys in this pursuit. Those that need such a service I'll refrain from commenting on further. His repeated attempts at trying to convince others such as yourself who clearly don't need such a service will only further alienate others I suspect. It's a shame he doesn't realize that as I can see there are segments of his service others might benefit from.

I frankly think that perception is a problem here. Some of you guys perceive everything I write as "selfpromotion" just because I am a service provider. When in fact, I write about my experience as a bilingual person who deals with the subject at hand every day, 12 hours a day. I tell it like it is, express my opinion as a private person whether it helps or hurts my chances at getting clients. I just write the truth as I see it. I don't prevent my clients from direct, untranslated communications with their women. They exchange skype and email info and in some cases totally leave me out of the loop. I really wouldn't care (less work for me!) but I can see that so many of these have communication break down because of the language barrier and just move on when in fact they could have been a perfect match.  All I'm saying is that a 100% language barrier free communication is detrimental when people who are looking for a life long commitment are trying to get to know each other. If you think that misunderstanding each other 50% of the time is OK in this endeavour, then God help you, go ahead and gamble with your life. But as a bilingual person I have seen how dangerous it can be.

Now, I can understand it if you are a hard core DIY type man who simply enjoys the journey, the adventure of it all. You still use agencies and translators, but on your own terms. But if it's strictly about the money, I don't believe that you are saving anything by not hiring a good translator. I believe that you will actually spend more because it will take a lot longer and many more trips to find the right woman.

In fact you are right Faux Pas,
now i begin to dislike Eduard, even without knowing him.
He don't really read and understand the meaning of what an OP is writing, he's only repeating what he uses to say and focus on "prepare a lot of shells" rather than to be open minded. Like God he sincerely believes that he has the truth (not multiple : only one, the ONE).
"Now, I can understand it if you are a hard core DIY type man who simply enjoys the journey, the adventure of it all". Like the bible says : simple minded are  :welcome:

No $hit Sherlock!  But that is part of the endeavor and the fun.  I am impressed by women who give a 150% effort to communicating even though it is a struggle.  Such suggests their degree of commitment.  Yet, an interpreter is needed and welcomed periodically.

Yes, it is a risk if a man tries to fast track such a relationship.

Or maybe they were just inexperienced? My client was pretty much a newbie to this, so how would he know? You've been at it for years, travelled to Ukraine about 30 times, I think? so off course you had experienced this problem and learned from your mistakes.

No Ed, I think its just common sense that if you are communicating with someone whose 1st language isn’t English then you need to try to avoid using slang. This view has nothing to do whatsoever with my FSU trips, I worked that out when I was still a teenager.

Nut basically you just confirm my point that a WM can't talk normally, the way he usually talks, can't make jokes, can't really show his personality at all, and neither can an FSU woman when they are trying to communicate without a good translator. IMO a man can either get simply very lucky and marry a good woman strictly by chance, or he can marry the wrong woman and will spend many times the amount that he "saved" not having a good translator.

Although you are correct to a certain extent, this inability to convey the real you is just one of many obstacles to overcome when dating in the FSU. Ideally I would prefer to live with someone for a few years before I marry them but that isn’t practical in these endeavours … neither is maybe direct and fluent communication and neither are a number of other things. Occupational hazards of FSU dating IMO, accept them or don’t bother doing it.

If you think that misunderstanding each other 50% of the time is OK in this endeavour, then God help you, go ahead and gamble with your life. But as a bilingual person I have seen how dangerous it can be.

“gamble with your life”? “dangerous”? Are we discussing the same subject here Ed? I’m talking about meeting a lady, dating her, building a relationship that might lead to marriage. I don’t consider something as potentially wonderful as that as either gambling or dangerous.

Ed i agree.

To that end,
I'm pretty open minded, generally like ,or can at least see the points you are often trying
to make ,
and do not like when folks take it way too far in replying to you.
But you should know i also have this perception that you include a big helping of spam in each post.
It does not mean my perception is reality,, but many seem to share it.

Now i understand when posters attack your biz or methods you will become defensive ,
it's a small business that you seem earnest and passionate about.
(This biz model/ individual poster scenario is true of Jack as well)
So it's very hard to separate the individual from the biz ,and not take criticisms personally.

you recognize it has become a common perception, and whether deserved or undeserved ,
it is from your posting style.

So you can modify it a bit , or  continue with folks having in this perception?
or you can chose to  get defensive and rail at the unfairness of the world
(that everything  a commercial member says is taken in a different light)

FWIW-  I tire of both spam, and of guys attacking your every post or position.

Ed,  i've a lot of experience in other fora in your same shoes.
(commercial interests ,but also as an individual (a regular interested contributing member,
regardless my financial interest in the forum topic)
it's a tight rope to walk, it can get frustrating.

If the general *perception*  of those boards, regardless my intent , swung a way i did not like or intend,
then i would really look at my style of posting or choices of words,
because  something i was doing would be causing it,not just members over-sensitivity to a dose or two of harmless spam ;)
I know most people don't mind a helping or two, they just don't like a regular diet of the stuff,so if my words are coming off that way..  i'd feel i was the one needing to adjust how i was relaying my message.

All good points AJ, thank you for being fair and good advice. In this particular instance (this thread) I just speak from the heart, having witnessed so much miscommunication and problems due to the language barrier. Guys who think that it's not much of an issue are just being naive IMO and they will either learn the hard way or might get extremely lucky. I wasn't saying that they should hire me, I am simply saying that they would have a much greater chance of success by having A good translator working for them OR alternatively they can learn Russian. Either option would work a lot better than not having any help with overcoming the language barrier at all. It is my opinion and experience. Perhaps I shouldn't express my opinion on subjects that have anything to do with my work?

Ed , i agree with your point,
And i know you speak from the heart and your own experience.
You are relaying what you feel would genuinely help a new guy.

I doubt anyone can have any good sound argument against clear communications with their romantic interest. :)

As far as replying to topics that are not related to your work,
i do not think you need to go that far.... at all.
You certainly expressed your current point  now , in a way i do not think anyone would perceive  as spam.

So it's perhaps a simple case of
"not what you say ,but how you say it"?

Also a case of others may have a different experience, and individually "instead of generally" some folks can easily work though communications and misunderstandings with humor and patience, while others can not.

Not a *one size fits all* scenario?

As a generality I agree with your stance completely.

as an individual i've experienced situations in the past, where a 'terp would be invaluable ,
and also where one would be a complete third wheel and not needed.

Maybe surprisingly , but the particular womans level of english wasn't the determining factor, more the individual personality or willingness to work through misunderstandings, or laugh about them,
vs  another persons taking offense over the same?

Granted more clear communications wouldn't have hurt anything..

I think you run into a undue amount of flack ,simply because your statements are of a general nature ,
but are taken, or seem stated , as complete absolutes. So  *perceptions*

FWIW-I think commercial members often find that tight rope hard to walk,
and  i think posters often take advantage of that ,simply to have something to debate.
They know it was  meant as a generality, but pick it apart for amusement ,
or to defend some very individual choice they made.

It does make for some interesting threads.

The commercial members here typically have more experience than most other posters ,so of course they have valuable insights.
often their posts are nitpicked to death, and often they over react in retaliation..
seems the nature of the 'net.. lol

No huge deal..
 can be annoying or amusing..

 :)
