That's very cute Ade.  Now answer the question:  What happened to the Greek empire, one of the greatest empires on the face of the earth, when Alexander the Great died without leaving an heir???

It is a silly question and entirely irrelevant. I may as well ask you what happened after the devote Roman Catholic Klara Hitler gave birth to her most infamous son.

Also, given your impressive ignorance, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were unaware that you cannot force someone to have a different sexuality (it isn't a choice just as your heterosexuality isn't) and you cannot force a gay man or woman to procreate either. So what do you suggest? Ban homosexuality? Make it illegal so it doesn't "pollute" your idea of what makes a nice little "moral" society? So that the poor little heterosexual kids aren't somehow turned into raving queens that won't bear children to carry on the neo-con's vision of a U.S. of A. led by a bigotted religious right?

Seriously, take a look at yourself, your views are disgusting.

It is relevant, very much so.  Stop making personal attacks and silly suppositions and answer the question.  Alexander the Great was known as being bisexual.  He could have easily honored his people from Macedonia and Greece and chosen a proper wife and had a proper heir.  But instead he gave in to alcohol addiction and other baser instincts and followed a path to destruction.  Greek society had become immersed in man/boy relationships.

And if gays are not able to choose, should scientists try to "cure" their brains before they are born??

OMG!!  What a horrible and bigoted thing to say!!  It would be far better to mutilate the body which God gave them, give them hormones and replace their former genitals with an attempt by man to create new ones!!  Right Ade??

Thanks Pitbull Daahhhling!!

There are some gays who decide that they were born with a mans body but than wish to become a woman, or vice versa.  Would it not be easier if science could correct the part of their brain which is different prior to birth than to change ones existing genitalia through hormones and surgery, which is a long painful process and never as good as what the creator gives us??

Gays didn't destroy the family.  Heterosexuals did a good job of that themselves.

Most of the men on this forum are divorced, many, with minor children.  Are gays responsible for that?

If gays (homosexuals, bisexuals, sexual opportunists) were involved in the break-up I am sure the posters will never tell,  :mooning: so be sure to not ask.

Yep, better to let it go.  And this is the point:

Regardless of how one feels about gays, Russia's treatment of freely gathering individuals is simply contemptible.  Gatherings should NOT be sanctioned or forcibly dispersed; it should be a basic right of citizens.  I do not understand why these gay parade discussions always slide into gay vs antigay debates; it's not about that at all.   It's about the right to free speech and gatherings, which should be protected in any civilized society.

Totally agree there.

Do I request here that the thread not be hijacked by those who believe homosexuality is the topic of the thread?

I took the topic to be Russia limiting speech and assembly.  That is an important thread regardless of subject.  It is a human rights topic.

If the topic about politics and religion and whether sexual orientation is a choice, such as believing a religion (Christian, Muslim, Jew) or sub-group of a religion (Catholic, RO, GO, Baptist, Evangelical) is a choice, than that is another thread for people who want to talk about non-FSU topics.

I have my own definitions which I prefer to use.  You are free to use the ones which you choose to use.

Science is not going to fix an embryo's brain darling, they are going to be able to check the exact outcome of matching one mans DNA to one womans DNA prior to it happening, and make corrections per the wish of the parents if need be.  Do I really have a vague idea of science or do you have a lack of creative imagination??  It has been said that magic and technology are one and the same.  Do you not believe that technology (science) can offer many solutions to our problems??

I hope Russia and FSU continue to ban and resist so called "Gay" pride marches. Militant gays have done their best to destroy family rights in the USA and have done a very good job of it by infiltrating our "liberal" media and public schools and enforcing political correctness and destroying true freedom of speech.  Gay militants have gone into churches and spewed their hatred of religion in the house of God.  Gays now enjoy special rights in the workforce and all throughout Hollywood. If homosexuals want to get married they can in certain churches, but that is not enough for them.  They now demand that the States and the Federal government recognize their unholy "marriages".They have forced the military into accepting them being openly Gay when it is a distraction to the military objectives and most troops do not like it.  Don't ask don't tell was a very good solution because the homosexuals willing to serve under that policy were not the drama queens, pardon the pun.  Now that they can openly serve it will never end there.  Soldiers who look at a homosexual the wrong way or speak to them in the wrong tone of voice will be accused of "harassment".  Soon there will be homosexuals demanding sex change operations at the military's expense.  Then there will be individuals with both male and female genitalia demanding to serve.  What a FUBAR!!

In the post quote above - the blue text represents that which is relevant and topical to RWD. The red text is that which is explicitly prohibited by RWD's TOS.

For that reason, the warning level has been increased.

As for denying the gay parade, according to my sources it was applied for on the day the Border Patrol celebrate their annual holiday in Moscow.

Don't know if any of you are familiar with what would be the result of these groups meet...

As for the rights of homosexual people, I see no reason for them to walk the streets half-naked as it will not help their cause. What goes on in your bedroom should stay there.

No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Different civilized societies have different concepts of what speech is allowable.  It seems that a majority of Russian perceive gay parades to be hate speech against Christian values and they are not going to approve them or tolerate it.

The problem with "hate speech" is that it cannot be objectively defined, and therefore any hate speech laws are inherently subject to abuse.

Two things, Rubicon:

1.  If you believe God creates everything, and is omnipotent, has he not created gays?  Who are we to judge God`s creation?

2.  In Ukraine, most people don`t really care whether or not someone is gay.  Not even in villages.  Even when homosexuality was illegal, there were areas of Kyiv that were well known gay meeting places.  There were also unofficial gay bars in Moscow in the 1970`s.

Sorry mate but it certainly is an FSU topic.  Just go over there to Russia and Ukraine and ask them how they feel about this topic and they will give you more than an earful.

Just so there is no confusion for people who have not been to FSU, which I have.  All of my friends here from FSU at least seem intelligent on the subject of sexual orientation and are nice people.  The women I have dated from FSU have not expressed issues on this subject.  I have one FSUW friend whose son recently came out and she is very accepting and loving of her son and seems even relieved since he seems much happier.  She is a loving woman.

So perhaps this is a situation where you will find what you are--you will find people like Boethius and I have met in the FSU or you will find the kind who will give you more than an earful about someone's sexuality in the FSU.

Ask others about how they feel about WM dating FSUW some will give you more than an earful.  Other topics that will get you an earful Bush/Obama/EU/Putin/Medvedev/Stalin/capitalism/American military/football/Turks and Nazis.

The problem with "hate speech" is that it cannot be objectively defined, and therefore any hate speech laws are inherently subject to abuse.

All Western democracies, with perhaps the exception of the U.S., have "hate speech" laws.  In Canada, the Court has established an objective test of what is prohibited speech (as this is a criminal offence).
