What are Women from the FSU looking for in Men from the West

I'm new to the FSU dating thing, and I wanted to know what the average woman from the FSU looks for in a man from the West.  I wonder how I compare with other Western men who are also looking for women from the FSU.

What factors are most important to women from the FSU and how does that compare to Western women? 

I imagine that there are a set of factors that stay the same for all women, regardless of their nation or culture.  However, some things do differ in different cultures.

That is an open ended question that will likely get you a number of responses that are shall we say, less than flattering.

Women are women everywhere. Keep that first and foremost in mind as you wade the waters. Dating in the FSU with all the "help" be it agencies, paid wing men/women and tours is akin clubbing baby seals, shooting fish in a barrel or any other number of metaphors for easy you can dream up. Finding an honest, sincere woman might be as easy as being honest and sincere yourself or it might leave you in the dog pound with Milkbone Bvds.

FSUW are looking for the same thing as their American counterparts. Hopefully, love and companionship. If you have what it takes to date American women, you'll do fine in the FSU. If you don't, with a little work on yourself there is still hope for you.

You can basically start with a clean slate in the FSU because they don't know you  If you are worthy and keep you wits about you, you can find a wonderful woman. If you are seeking sex and the playboy lifestyle, don't be surprised with what finds you.

I'd say the most important factor to an FSUW is stability.  So, first and foremost they are looking for a stable man, stable situation, and stable relationship (bwahahahah... I couldn't type that with a straight face... why? I'm soooo glad you asked... because women are unstable!!! heh)


You'll also run into a distinct separation of male/female roles in relationships.  There are some exceptions but you generally have "men to this", "women do that".  The idea of a partnership is viewed from that vantage point.   


I used to think of "cultural difference" but it really isn't. It's a "mentality difference" (thanks to Boethius for that unwitting education).   Sure, there are some differences in culture but those really don't have much of an effect on relationships. The mentality absolutely does.  There's a bit of a crossover, e.g., is it mentality or culture or sheer nutbaggedness which causes a woman to blast whatever is on her mind right out her mouth without any filter whatsoever???    There is not really such a thing as disrespect in a relationship.  There is only honest expression of emotion.. 


Their logic can be very different to that which we are accustomed.  Sometimes you'll sit dumbfounded for a few moments wondering "what the heck was THAT?  nahhhh, she couldn't possible have said/done that... it must have been a figment.."  ahhhh, welcome to Alternate Reality of the Parallel Universe...

There are some very enlightening posts about the big differences between the relationship between a FSU women and her/your children as compared to American customs.

Pemdas, be yourself.   The FSU women vary widely just like American women.  Regardless of who you are (within reasonable limits), regardless of where you live, etc. there could be a FSUW who could be your ideal life partner.
 
Here are some interesting guidelines once you have started communicating with FSUW.  Hopefully you will take a trip one day and spend some time with FSUW.   They are interesting and fun if you have an open mind.

I know that there are individual women out there, but one can find a general trend in a group of people, right?  These trends is how marketing campaigns work, or how politicians connect with the people as a whole.

If the FSU were full of short fat women and/or if the West were full of poor men, just scraping from day to day ... we would not be having any of these conversations.  THAT reality sets the background. 

But, in each situation there is room for a little magic.  So, the human story continues.

But, I can see why you might have bothered to point it out.  Most of the articles online that go over meeting women from the Former Soviet Union tend to generalize them quite a bit.  But, it doesn't make sense to expect the same things from all Russian women or women from the other Former Soviet states.
