Official authorized age gap
« on: March 22, 2013, 07:00:40 AM »
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_life_expectancy

Life expectancy AM about 75 years.

Life expectancy Russian and Ukrainian men 62.

So there could be a 13 year age gap, and the gal could still expect to spend as many years with you as she would with a local guy that was 13 years younger than you.

And actually, if the gal stayed with white men, the age gap could be even more as the life expectancy for AM overall is pulled down by including racial and ethnic groups with much lower life spans.

Also, she should stay away from AM living in certain states . . . which shall go unnamed !!   :o

White AM are probably very close to the numbers shown for Western European countries.

Or she could go for a 17 year age gap with a Japanese fellow.

And the life expectancy of AM is actually greater than that for RUW and UAW who clock in at 73 years.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

If you are trying to suggest that women should make choies based upon the expected life expectancy n her destination locale please think again.
Just as you are in your life, people are conditioned by their observations and experiences. Thus a woman from Ruusia or Ukraine seeking a long term relatoinship is unlikely to be conisdering a bloke in 50's for such becasue in her experience a man in his 50's is aready old and is, on average, on the backend of his life. It is true that life expectancy for a man reaching 50 is much longer than 60 but it ain't the same as in Western Europe or even in the relatively short lived USA.
Chances are that if a young(ish) woman in her 30's is with a bloke in his late 60's for example, then she 'knows' that he will be dead in a couple of years and is there to make hay while the sun shines. As a sensible woman who can read she probably knows that this is even more likely to be true if she can get the man to come live and become resident in her country.
Even more than that she will know that once her grandad husband pegs out she is in line for at least 50%, and likely more, of his FSU assets.
Given the recent number of old coots marrying younger women and 'retiring' to Ukraine I kinda wonder whether some women have figured out a new variant on an old trick.

ML, the point was that you were misunderstanding a basic fact: people think in terms of their own situation.
A woman living in a society where folks do not get to be much older than 60 years of age is never going to see a bloke of 55 as a long term bet. It does not matter where in the world he might live
This menas that blokes, maybe including yourself, are deluding themselves if they think that women with whom they are involeved are palnning a long term relationship.
From that flows a new kind of scam. Really, a few years ago we did not see young(ish) women inveigling old men to go live in their home counties, now we do, early days yet I think, but we will see more.
There are good reasons women should do so. A 37 year old woman, from her perspective, sees a life that has maybe five years on the clock and an understanding that upon his demise she will pick up a shedload of booty when she is in her early 40's.
So, yes it does have quite a lot to do with your first post because your first post was misunderstanding how people think and thus how they act.

Come on. I have yet to get to know a Russian woman who does not know that the life expectancy for men in Russia is much shorter than in the other developed countries. Again, her own parents or grandparent may have lived well longer than 80 yo. Not sure whether this point would stand...

I think most RW understand those facts too.

The overall health of a man is more important than his age if a RW if she is considering the man for marriage. Many of the RW I've dated said I look healthy so I understand it's important to them.

A sincere woman wants a husband they will have a long and fruitful marriage with. She may marry a man 15 years older if he has the health of a man 10 years younger and reject a man 15 years older if he looks like he's going to die next week.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Andrew, you are taking yourself too seriously, and have many negative thoughts.

Firstly, my original post what somewhat 'tongue in cheek.'
An attempt to shed some 'facts' on a logical answer to the 'age gap' arguments, but presented with some humor.

But, if you want to make it more serious . . . the 'facts' or at least the statistics still hold.

Assume a 40 y.o. FSUW.  She looks locally and decides that a 50 y.o. local man is her upper limit with respect to age.

Statistically, she will be able to spend 12 years with this man before his demise (statistically speaking) at age 62.

On the other hand, she could team up with a 63 y.o. AM and expect to spend 12 years with him before his demise (statistically speaking) at age 75.

And since general health and vigor are affected by the same variables affecting death; in general, it could  be expected the older AM would be just as good a mate as the younger local man for the expected 12 years.

This is something that many (most) of the FSUW are aware of as Lily mentioned.

Now as for your negative thoughts . . .

I believe the number of FSUW (or any women for that matter) who set out to marry a man based on idea that he will die soon . . . is very, very small.

I am not at all trying to support large age gaps, nor trying to justify to myself any age gaps.  But the facts are facts . . . statistically speaking.

- - - -

On a slightly related note:  There  was  a famous situation in France some years back.  I don't have the exact numbers . . . but something like this:

An 80s something woman worked out a reverse mortgage with a 60s something man.

The man would  pay the woman a set amount each month until her death and then he would own her home.

But the woman lived into her 100s and the man died before her; and I even think some of his heirs (who had to continue paying her) died before her also.

The man and his heirs paid the woman some X times what the home was actually worth.

Pat and others can probably fill in the actual numbers.

ML,

You say life expectancy for UM and RM is 62.  How about UW and RW?    If it is 76, the appropriate age gap would be 14 years.  However, the woman should be 14 years older than the man, not younger.  In that way, husband and wife die together as one in each other's loving arms. :D  The survivor does not spend years on earth in loneliness.

The architect for my home was a phenomenal man.  He and his wife were soul mates and nearly the sane age.  At 92 his wife died and he shot himself the next week.

Humour translates differently in different cultures.  Still, Andrew has a point.  Even AM only have a life expectancy of  just under 75 years.

That expectancy is starting from birth. After leaving the accident-prone ages through the mid-forties, for every year of actual age increase, expectancy increases. At my present age, in my 60's, non-smoker, running 4 miles per day, no history of family cancer, my expectancy is into the late 90's.

You still have a greater risk, statistically, than a man in his forties.

I've seen a lot of seniors in my lifetime, starting with my grandparents, and their siblings, almost all of whom were very long lived.  Many in my family lived past 100 years.  What I noticed with my grandparents, and confirmed even by those who were older, is that they started to physically "feel" their age in their early seventies.  They were still active, went on with life, most even worked large gardens.  You will not have the same vitality at 75 as does a 45 year old man.  That is reality, and it is silly to deny it.

Note, I am in no way commenting on relationships and/or age gaps.

I wasn't addressing subjective "vitality", but my life philosophy is to go physically as hard as I can until it kills me, rather than sitting around stagnating. My much younger UW fiancee claims I am the most fit and intimately desirable man she has ever known. She is not an 'emigree' fiancee, and we will marry and live, initially, in Ukraine, as she wishes.

Of course she does, would you expect anything else?

The question is, do you actually believe her?

Yes, that's true - life expectancy of UM is 62 yo. What does it depend on? It depends not only on genes or got diseases. Alcoholism and diseases and accidents related with it makes these statistic figures so awful. But it is, of course, average life expectancy. If you look at a normal good fellow, who doesn't drink a lot and who takes care of himself, you will get a fellow who doesn't differ a lot from american one. And their life expactancy would be about 75 yo, too. My father is 70 yo and he ( and my mother ) works work a lot in the garden as well, drives a car like Schumacher and is still looking like a man who is going to meet even his 80s :) As for age difference.. It is very arguable question..If it is about 10 - 15 years - it is normally here. Not often, but anyway it exists - such a difference. And people live very happily together, I know such families. If it is more.. I have not know any ( I mean couples that I know ) that has it more than, for example, 20 years of difference. If it is your case, well, I don't want to doubt your fiancee words and have no right to do that. What she has said to you about "intimately desirable man". It is possible that she had never met such one before or she just wanted to say something nice to you, or.. I sincerely wish you both to feel happy together and to be really happy. But, don't be offended, as for me, if a much much younger girl said to me ( and we are talking not about a difference between, for example, 20 yo girl and 45 yo man ) that I am ( in my 60s ) the most fit, I would have been thinking about these words.. Intimately desirable man - it is possible and, anyway, it depends on someone's fancy ( or taste ), but.. Although, I am repeating, it depends, of course, on persons that she had met before.

given the possibility.....

95% of WM, regardless of age would go for an 18 year old FSUTeen

4% would even consider getting parental consent to wed a younger girl

1% would end up in a relationship with an age gap between 0 and 25 years.....

need I say more?

that's about as 'official' as it gets......

What a diplomatic way of stating this.  Bravo. :clapping:

cc3, in a less diplomatic and more direct way, I was going to say close to the same thing.  You are living in the "heart" of the "hardcore working class" area of Ukraine. A man is not a man unless he smells of alcohol and tobacco, and has dirty fingernails.  Look around at men of around 35.  See how 1/3 (according to OECD/Ukraine joint studies, not mine) are alcoholics.   Observe that the constant abuse of their bodies with these toxins has poisoned their livers, and how it appears on their faces.  So, it's not exactly some "great prize" to be compared favorably.

BTW, my husband used to jog daily in Kyiv, as well as  through the forests of villages when he was sent to work out of town.  He was a former soccer player, and a very fast runner.  He loved running in the forests, where the air was clean, and usually did a 6 km loop.  In Kyiv, a neighbour's dog would join him on his run.   But, in both places, the locals thought he was absolutely loco.  They used to describe him as "that guy who runs for no reason".
