Boston marathon bombers are Chechens?
« on: April 19, 2013, 06:48:19 AM »
They're saying the Boston marathon bombers are brothers who are originally from Chechnya.

One of them has been identified as Dzhokhar (or Djohar) A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge, Mass.

Here's a link to his Russian social media page: http://vk.com/id160300242

We don't know if this had anything to do with Islam, GOB.

We don't know of it was even these brothers either. Am I the only one that thought there have been a lot of misidentified suspects in this manhunt?

I assume it's them, based on photos from the scene, and the one dead body.  We just don't know the motive yet.

Honestly, I have no faith in our ability to find culprits of bombings, murder, ect. The instantaneous witch hunt that ensued immediately afterward leaves a lot of doubt. There were what, maybe 10,000 people on video at the finish line and the first dozen or so "persons of interest" were duds.

If you were Chechen, and got accused, what would you do? With both of them dead I'm pretty sure they'll be deem guilty

No, you are not.

Misidentified suspects and misinformation, from Day 1 -- everything from a "controlled explosion" drill to "recovered bombs" to a "suspect in custody."

Hard to know what to believe.

Let me guess what the bombers' motive may be.   "Death and destruction to a country who should do more to help the Chechen struggle for freedom."  Or maybe just another example of self-radicalized young people.

They aren't brothers anymore. One is dead and the other has been told by his father in Russia to surrender. These are the guys involved in the bombings. No reason for them to run and hide if they're innocent.

even if they are not responsible for the bombing, they sure as hell are still criminals- hijacking a car, killing a campus police officer, robbing a 7-11 store, shooting it out with police with assault weapons, explosives.

Anybody here really believe that they are just victims?

I heard the interview with the father saying "this is an impossibility"...and then it was cut-off mid-sentence..

I saw a picture in one of the news report showing a 'bag', like a shopping paper bag, sitting on the sidewalk that they deemed to have been the 'bomb' prior to detonation...but the videos of these two guys were showing they're carrying backpacks...

The news report I heard this morning on my drive to work said the dead brother exchanged fire with the police, even throwing a pressure cooker at them...that SOB - I'm telling you! Anyway, there's an apparent 3rd guy that is in captivity. He supposedly had 'shaved' his head and is currently being questioned to find out motives, etc...apparently there's an 'admittance' to the bombing and additional information being *revealed*.

Like you FP, there's a part of me that isn't feeling 'right' about this.  :-X

Do you know anything more than we do and being reported in the news? Boston is a tough town. They're mostly Irish decendents and those boys can get pretty tough. If these guys are in truth, guilty, they're better off having the cops catch them.

Stay safe and know where to hide in your house in case trouble comes your way. It's a hassle for everybody to be locked down but this guy has to be caught now. We can't afford him escaping and hurting more innocent people.

Just watching the local news, like everybody else. I thought I live in a peaceful college town, and now it feels like a war zone. 1 million people under lockdown, unbelieveable!!!
Just looked at Djohar's VK page - he has several radical-looking Islamistic videos posted.

One 19 year old kid, allegedly with some explosives that had to rob a convenience store for cash and carjack a ride has the entire city of Boston in lockdown. I realize most Bostonians have already given up their personal firearms but, what is wrong with this picture?

The father told ABC News that there would be "hell to pay" if the second son was killed.

The USA has a police mentality of kill first, assume answers later and that troubles me even more than the no questions should be asked until bones are broken and blood is running mentality of Russian police.

As one friend put it, had this happened in LA the Los Angeles police would have already killed all 17 of the 2 suspects.

Some of the questions I have are regarding:

- The original detainee was Saudi.
- Quickly there was an unscheduled meeting of the Saudi foreign ambassador at the White House.
- The White House said that the detainee would be deported right away.
- The Saudi foreign ambassador said that the detainee came from an influential Saudi family.
- ICE then said that the detainee had already been scheduled for deportation.
- Then suddenly we shift attention to the two young men from Chechnya and the original detainee is dropped from news coverage.

I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but this is curious to say the least and I know what Americans would be saying if this chain of events had occurred under the Putin government.

The Saudi was never detained.  He was in hospital with burns, and was a suspect.  He was suspected because he was seen running from the blast.  However, even before the photos were released to the police, he was dismissed.

According to media reports, the man whose SUV was hijacked, and who was taken hostage by the Chechens, stated the Chechens boasted to him of being the bombers.

Well, these two killed the 26 y.o. MIT police officer in his car, right after robbing the 7-11 (the 7-11 is directly across the Stata building on campus). And they were running on the MIT campus with bags full of amunition and explosives late at night!

The whole city lockdown seems excessive though

They were from the Dagestan region (radically Muslim) of Russia. It doesn't matter if innocent or not, the shoot first and ask questions after dead mentality of most US police in general says to me that they'd be dead no matter of innocence or guilt. If one is taken alive, that will add credibility to the FBI case. If not....

Given where they're from, courts don't exactly have the best of reputations. Do you know what the acquittal rate is for Russia's judicial system? Less than 1%. In Russia, if arrested you are DE facto guilty.
