I'm still interested to know when did backpacks look just like shopping paper bags.

Perhaps the backpack contained a bag and a pressure cooker.  An abandoned paper bag looks less suspicious than an abandoned backpack.
 
For those belittling pressure cookers, you should recognize that this device would amplify the release of explosive energy.   Those of us who made pipe bombs as kids will understand.

Maybe those guys did it, maybe they didn't. I'd much rather wait until there's a far more concrete evidence than a couple of pictures of these guys being on the scene carrying backpacks. Especially after the news media showed pictures of the alleged pre-blast bomb in a paper bag.

The picture of the paper bag, if you can find it, is much bigger than the back pack either was carrying. I'm acutely aware of what pressure cookers can and do. As a kid, I remember hearing those things blow in someone's kitchen when the pressure release valve got stuck and that was merely powered by steam. Heck, even an empty glass container with tin can cover partially filled with lighter fluid make a loud bang as long as you limit the the size of the hole to just big enough for a wick to get through.
 
Suspects are just that, suspects. Last I know they're not guilty of any crime until tried. Certainly not guilty of being justifiably killed because of suspicion.

So I'm thinking...how do you suppose either of these guys excused themselves to the front of the crowd, unto the streetside sidewalk, while they extricated the shopping paper bag that contained the pressure cooker from their smaller sized backpacks and strategically placed it where everyone was standing around - without anyone noticing them?

 Their aunt says the same thing. But I happen to believe the driver of the Mercedes whose car was hijacked and who claims the brothers bragged about being the marathon bombers.

Bullshit. Who has mentioned conspiracy theory besides the father and the aunt? They deserve a fair trial. Do you think they'll get one? They were seen on a survaillence camera at the scene. Of course the fact that 4 others were seen and accused prior to them has no bearing, does it?

He was not just a suspect, he was innocent because he was never proven guilty in a court of law and of course I'm wise and the one that can figure out who's guilt or not so I personally need to see the evidence before saying he's guilty. Everybody else is whacked out for rushing to judgement and are blind to the fact our government killed Bin Laden before he could tell the truth that he is being framed. The reason I personally need to see the evidence of all high profile crimes is because government and journalists can't be trusted. They're in bed together. I got it all figured out. Trust nobody except the conspiracy theorists.

They were noticed. Google "Jeff Bauman." He provided a description of the man who dropped a bag down near him which later blew off two of his legs. His description helped authorities postively identify one of the guys in the video. Do you think that man volunteered blowing off both his legs to divert attention away from our government in order to help our government frame two innocent men?

I too expect our government to improve but I don't expect perfection. Fast and Furious was a dumb mistake, not a conspiracy to kill innocent people.

But to give you credit and respect, you are the only man that I've debated about 9/11 that says our whole government is in on it. Unlike the others who ridiculously say it was only Bush, you understand Democrats would love to hang Bush but since they kept silent they must be in on it too. CG, no government is perfect and if you expect perfection, you are going to be disappointed. I've always known you to be disappointed in our government. I too expect our government to improve but I don't expect perfection. Fast and Furious was a dumb mistake, not a conspiracy to kill innocent people.

Billy, I don't want to get into a debate about 9/11, but I certainly don't believe our entire government was in on it. I believe it was a relatively small but powerful faction within the government who engineered a "New Pearl Harbor" as that PNAC planning paper called for.

It's amazing how few people have independently investigated an event that by all accounts, "changed everything."

I don't expect perfection from government. OTOH, I don't expect them to murder a couple thousand of their own citizens in order to wage endless multi-trillion dollar wars and eviscerate privacy and civil liberties.

Watching live video and wonderful to see the people of Boston relieved and applauding our law enforcement. I applaud them too and would have not held it against them if they brought in the final suspect dead.

Gator my friend, in my old age perhaps I missed the part where I declared that the two brothers are innocent and were framed as part of a conspiracy theory.

If you follow the game of American football, you know the play where everyone sweeps left or right but out of sight a lone runner attempts to slip the other way while no one else is paying attention, thus:

Still the White House and ICE mishandled the Saudi case in reporting to the American people. It was not done in a transparent manner and as a result the conspiracy theories, both here and abroad, will be in full gear.

By labeling them as conspiracy theories, that should give you a clue of where I'm coming from.

For the record, these folk are tight knit communities and unlike American traditions, often glued to the hip. My guess is that very quickly the PC crowd in the USA will go from anger to relief to indignation at the slightest insinuation that extended family and friends of the bombers may somehow be a part of what happened in Boston.

I sometimes disagree with the actions of the Russian government but no matter on which side you stand in relation to the imperialization of the Caucasus, one should take note that in places like Chechnya and Dagestan, the Russian Army bulldozes and burns entire homes when a militant is apprehended.

Please notice that I didn't imply agreement with the practice, and in fact I don't, but it is an important observation and I understand that Vladimir Putin believes that to eradicate a problem he must deal with overwhelming force in cleaning out the nest and not only the individual spider.

The entire family was apparently granted political asylum. The family and their network of friends which are very likely to include similar immigrants, should be vetted and re-vetted over and over again until one could be absolutely certain that no part of a sleeper cell exists. In this I do not advocate violence or flagrant disregard to genuine rights, but if the USA is to survive, she must regain some common sense and have the will to take a much more mature approach to immigration policies instead of allowing anyone to come and then declaring a general amnesty every decade or so.
