The attitude may be more extreme than most, but women in many parts of North America are far more prone to harassment on the streets based on how they are dressed than women in Ukraine. 

A Toronto police officer once commented that if women wanted to avoid being raped, they "should stop dressing like sluts".  This guy just takes it one step further.

The attitude may be more extreme than most, but women in many parts of North America are far more prone to harassment on the streets based on how they are dressed than women in Ukraine. 

A Toronto police officer once commented that if women wanted to avoid being raped, they "should stop dressing like sluts".  This guy just takes it one step further.

I know Brother Dean quote well and consider him a friend.  I admire what he has done.  He has taken a stand on principle and he lives a life of chastity that I still struggle with to this day and I am twice his age.  He preaches a radical view of Christianity in that Christians should live their Christianity.  If they did so, then he would not have to hold a sign.

When he says, you deserve rape, its worth pointing out that we, humanity deserve punishment, damnation or rape.  That is our destiny.  It is the consequence of our sins.

Whether his methodology works, we will see.  I just remember when I was his age that no one helped me.  So I admit I have taken an interest in him and pray for his continued success.

Humanity deserves rape?!? Even the "hell-and-brimstone" Christians generally expect that the judgement will come after death. It is one thing to say that you will be judged for your sins in the hereafter than to hold up a sign saying that you deserve to be raped which implies in the here-and-now because of the way a woman is presumably dressed....

This idea that rape was for dominance rather than sexual pleasure came along or was greatly enhanced with the feminist movement.

I have never had any inclination toward rape; but all sex I have is for pleasure, not dominance.

Thus I think this idea of rape for dominance is hoky.  But the idea is repeated so much that it has gained quite a bit of credence.

Why is it absurd?  Why in Ukraine do women walk around dressed more provocatively than most women in North America, yet rape is not as prevalent in their society?

Christ also said:

And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them - Luke 9:5


It appears to me that Dean Saxton is ignoring Christ's words.  He does so either:

a)  based on a poor/faulty understanding of Christ; or
b)  for his own purposes, not for glorifying Christ.

In either case, while I will not judge whether or not he is a good Christian (that is for God to decide, not me), his actions are not without fault.
