Strange how justme100 went quiet when the pro-Russian extremists were attacking peaceful pro-Ukraine demonstrators with baseball bats last Sunday in Sevastopol....truly appalling scenes of pro-Russian barbaric thugs in action.

Yep..that was all over the tv over here justme100..captured on film..despite those same thugs threatening the journalists present.Where was your pro-Russian propaganda then ?

Thank you.I know pefectly well what is happening in Donetsk.

A quote from the article JDG linked--perhaps you would be advised to read it. Other Russian apologists ought to read before commenting.--
From Irina-apolitical Russian speaking schoolteacher--
""But Crimea is not the only place where we see Russians. Here in southeastern Ukraine they come as what we like to call “tourists.“ This means busloads of people are coming from across the border of Russia, armed with bats and other unpleasant things, who come to beat Ukrainians who support their new government. They came to Kharkiv and beat the students there, and now they have come here."

So about 30 journalists conspired to make this story up? You are comically ridiculous.
7.52pm GMT
Here’s Reuters take on the hotel incident. It counts 30 armed men in balaclavas and quotes Crimea’s de-facto defence minister saying it was a false alarm:

Armed police burst into a hotel in Simferopol, the capital of Crimea, on Saturday night on the eve of a referendum aimed at deciding whether the Ukrainian region leaves Ukraine and becomes part of Russia.
Witnesses saw around 30 men in balaclavas carrying automatic weapons inside the Hotel Moscow, a Soviet-era hotel popular with Western reporters covering Sunday’s referendum.
The witnesses said the men burst in brandishing weapons and made their way to the building’s fourth floor.
Crimean Defence Minister Valery Kuznetsov told reporters that police were reacting to an alert which turned out to be false.
“We received a false alarm. We came to check,” he told reporters at the hotel.
“We have checked everything and it turned out to be bogus. There is an information war going on, being waged by Kiev ... So we have to check everything and be ready for any contingency.”
By 9:40 p.m. (1940 GMT) the policemen had started to leave the hotel.
The incident occurred at a time when Russian state media has ratcheted up its anti-Western rhetoric, accusing the West of supporting what it says are fascist elements within Ukraine’s provisional government.
Western reporters working in Crimea have complained of harassment by pro-Russian activists in recent days.
Some witnesses at the hotel said the raid appeared to be designed to intimidate journalists on the eve of the referendum.

How decent Russians are responding.--see the links. Forget the crap being pedalled to you about Nazis-- the closest action to the Nazis is Putins invasion plus the Russian thugs sent into Ukraine to kill, maim, injure, provoke.  wake up before it is too late-- show 1% of the courage of the brave Ukrainians who have stood for a democracy-- and tell Putin that the Russian people do not approve

let's vote for occupation and stagnation

So Putin was willing to give Ukraine 15 billion to accept its Friend Request on Facebook or strategic partnership or whatever but rejects the offer and instead gets 15 billion from the EU and a billion from the USA and gets rid of a bunch of parasitic oligarchs.  While Crimea gets occupation by 15 thousand Russian troops, but doesn’t get a kopec.  Ukraine moves closer to the EU, Crimea becomes part of Russia.  I hear the sound of laughter, but it’s not coming from Crimea.

First of all, it's not you who decide who are decent people and who are not.
Second one, everyone has a right to have it's own mind.
What you call "bravery" I call "stupidity". People risked their lives and got nothing in return. Before go to Maidan they have to raise new opposition leaders, they have no one for now. Yanukovich is not a president, but it could be done without Maidan during legitimate voting, but it seems Ukrainians just like revolutions very much.
If you are so damn good and so brave - go and talk to Putin yourself, but don't tell what I have to think and I have to do. You are nobody to tell me all that, everything you are able to do is reposting other people's opinions.

First of all--I can certainly give my opinion of what a decent Russian is-- to define it in this context-- it is a Russian that does not approve of Putins actions in relation to Ukraine.
A decent Russian will respect others rights and show respect fo human life.
The voting to remove Yanukovich was LEGITIMATE under Ukraine law--regardless how that fool Putin chooses to portray it.
You are a Russian citizen-- you get to vote- you can voice an opinion-- so register your disapproval. I am not an eligible Russian voter and as such have no internal impact. I can certainly vote and influence directions of my government-- which has condemned Russia's actions in relation to Ukraine.
I think if you read more carefully--I have made my views very clear-- as the links and articles I have posted   to support my views.
BTW-- I would be very happy to have an audience with Putin-can you arrange it? My preference is a cage anywhere. :)

16/03/2014Today will be a historical day for Crimea. Today we will return home.We waited for it so long that some people can't beleive it's really happening. Old people cry and say that they didn't have any hope to live up to this moment. Tomorrow the last sheets of Crimean Ukrainian history  will be put in the ballot boxes.

It's guaranteed you will return to Russia. There are only two choices on the ballot, return to Russia, or stay with Ukraine restoring the 1992 Constitution which of course will lead Crimea back to Russia in another fashion. There is no option on the ballot to stay with Ukraine and it's current government. Sanctions is the best the West has got against Russia so Crimea is Russia's for years to come. I predict the West gets tired of applying sanctions which hurt their own economies before Russia gives up Crimea so we'll do business with Russia again.

Thanks to people of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Lugansk who are now trying their best to disattract Kiev from Crimea we will be able to vote tomorrow.

Russia is going to rescue those cities and surrounding regions next. What is the West going to do next? More talk.

Well that is fine then, the people of Crimea have spoken.  The US foreign policy in recent years has been a complete failure, and I think that is good if we learn to keep out of other country's issues.  We helped foment this revolt (Victoria Nuland was probably the tip of the iceberg), and now Crimea is gone, and we helped make that happen. We threatened and fomented in Syria, and now Assad has firm control…among other things, we bombed the caravan that enabled rebels in assassinate the leader of Libya and now the country is in chaos. We have spent trillions (and 1000’s of lives) in Iraq and Afghanistan…now Afghanistan is demanding we get the hell out of their country and truck bombs and massacres occur in Iraq daily.  It seems pretty clear to me that we would have been better off had we let the individual countries figure out their own little messes.  Just because we have a strong military doesn’t mean we are the world’s police, king, or moral authority.
Bring our people home, secure our own border and build the infrastructure necessary to improve our lives and livelihoods...and fire John 'the pompous gasbag' Kerry!
 :)

There is going to be a lot of "watch what you wish for" regret in the morning. "Buyers remorse" will set in a few weeks from now maybe sooner.

This is going downhill fast. This is just the start. The Ukraine/Crimea border will be sealed up by weeks end with people cut off from relatives and family. Its going to take a while to document all the people.
