It starts wrong, you feel head over heels for a girl you have never met.
The good thing is that you want to travel to meet her, that is the good one.
It makes no sense to schedule many trip at this stage, first meet her and after you will see.
Avoid also to propose her a marriage, marriage is in your agenda, but you are not going to propose her during this travel because you don't KNOW her.

The hardest thing to hear when you are infatuated with a woman is that she might not be the one.  But the people that I have met in my travels to Russia and other European countries tell me from experience that you flying to Smolensk to meet her and the two of you winding up together for all eternity might happen, but the odds are overwhelmingly not in your favor.  (Been watching too many episodes of the Hunger Games.)

Like you, I am a WOVO type guy.  (That means "Write one, visit one.)

But you are being introduced to a new culture.  A new way of thinking.  It takes no short period to adjust to her way of thinking.  Then there is the problem of waiting for visas to your country to work its way through the system.

All these things go through my mind before I ever set foot in another country.

Enjoy the relationship for what it is.  Infatuation.

As for a visa to Russia, the standard term is Multiple Entry, three year visas.  You will be required to operate through an established industry provider who will provide invitation letters, etc.  Although with some work, you can get your visit history through your girlfriend.  You will be on a tourist visa.

Finally, remember, there are very clever operators in Russia and Eastern Europe.  Doping Western Men into falling in love and then taking them for whatever money is available is an Olympic Sport there.  Many of the women who communicate are paid to do so.

There are sincere women, too.  But the scammers outnumber the honest ones by a great number.

Good luck - or as Too Tall Bill says:  Udachi!

Your spelling and grammar are awful. Elementary students do a better job. It makes me wonder if you're playing games with us. If your lady needs a translator to read your writing, she won't understand it and will think you're uneducated. Writing isn't your strong point so talk to the lady on the phone often before deciding to visit. If she isn't enthusiastic to hear your voice, don't go.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Hmmmm..... jone, I was under the impression you apply for tourist visa for Russia and request 3 year.... but it's at the discretion of the consulate whether you get 30 day or 3 year visa. it isn't 'automatic, is it?

I thought that way too.  But my understanding now is that it is what you apply for.  Who knows?  With Russia attempting to recall the ambassador to the US, we could see a complete travel ban.......

No.  It is simply a risk that travel to the Soviet Union Russia might be impeded.

I'm not the grammar police but have some pride in what you type, especially if you're writing to maybe what could be the most important woman in your life. How you write reflects on your intelligence level with your lady. Men mainly judge women based on beauty, women judge men based on their intelligence. You want love? First get respect. I read a newspaper everyday. I'm better at writing than I was in high school. I'm growing as I get older. We all should.

GotoRussia.com is an American based company that can get you a letter of invitation to qualify for a Russian visa. Make sure she's into you before buying the tickets.

mikey, have you any questions burning a hole in your brain? The forum has turned into a political minefield of late and your noob questions would be a much welcomed change in this squalor of bullshit. Please, my friend, ask away. On the other hand, the desire to "get out" that many men seem to use as main trump card will currently be a lot stronger.

Well not really. If you want to travel to Russia all you have to do is fly to Ukraine.
