Interesting, I shall keep up on this a little more.  Is there any resource in particular that countries are going to fight over? I would think that the dominant claims on the Arctic would be Russia, USA, and Canada...

Norway and Denmark as well. Increased Russian submarine activity and threats to both these nations recently and Russia is warning Denmark not to join the NATO missile shield....

I am sure it is not just one resource in question but the overall riches of the region. Oil, gas, diamonds, fish, shipping routes, uranium are just a few. Maybe even minerals we are not yet aware of.
