Party tricks are second nature to Chanel Tapper, who has long wielded the Guinness World Records title for woman with the globe’s longest tongue.

The California native can easily use the 3.8in (9.75cm) organ to remove Jenga blocks from a stack. She can flip red plastic cups with it; touch the tip of her nose as well as under her chin; and raise a spoon by curling it around the utensil.

But nothing quite beats showing her tongue to people and watching them shriek in terror as they realize it is longer than a medium-sized lightbulb – or a credit card.

“Honestly, the best reaction I could ever get when someone sees my tongue is screaming,” Tapper, 34, said recently in an interview published on the Guinness World Records website. “People yell or scream in shock, or horror sometimes, [and] that’s probably my favorite because it’s funny to me because it’s a dramatic response.”

Some people don't learn things the first time. Japan doesn't charge people when the rescue them
from Mt Fuji. Maybe they need to do it for the second offence?

Stranded man airlifted from Mount Fuji — then rescued again days later after he returned to get his phone

LOL What's with the "Florida man"? My husband told me that there are so many weird news that start with "Florida man" that it's a running joke in US

Miami was at one time the primary cocaine/cannabis port of entry to the USA
gazillions of super-rich drug smugglers, wholesale dealers
easy money was EVERYWHERE
and wherever there is EASY MONEY
there are EASY WOMEN
every ecosystem gets filled

the banking skyscrapers downtown, all came from drug money
they had a very organized drug smuggling mafia, whose core was composed of former West Point Officers who served in SE Asia and then blended in with the CIA raising cash on and off the books for the Contras in central America
you were in Belarus when this was all goin on, wondering WTF happened to the CCCP!!!

Florida is a poorer more rundown version of California without all the high Tech, and instead of "hip hop" it's HillBilly Music" and has "skeeters" the size of a P51 Mustang

Here in Texas, I take my Russian druzya to a local Texas Pentacostal church to watch them handle the snakes
sure glad I don't live in some weird place like Florida

fightin gators ain't nothin
.22 in the noggin, and hand it over to my wife's bootmaker, and 6 months later she's got new boots
and she will love me, "long time"

it's a MAN's LIFE, here in Texas

It's true, if you go through this thread most of the bizarre news comes out of there. If an article starts
with "naked woman" or "naked man" there is a 90% chance it happened in Florida.

up to about 1980 or so we had "insane asylums" in the USA
after that, to save money, we shut these places down
where would these people go?  hint: Republican Party!!

this contributed to a rise in homelessness and crime
homeless people like to live where it's warm
so they end up in california or florida, etc

after my tour of duty ended in the US Army, and came back to the USA, I was shocked at the change
in mid 80s Hollywood, there were teenagers sleeping on the streets, it'd usually only be a few months before they got HIV from either drug use or sex work to pay for the drugs
a social doom loop
all these kids wasted, thrown away cuz their parents were too poor to raise them
while the rich kids all got a free pass to life in the capitalist meritocracy

one day, a poor child will be run over, by a rich couple in a Mercedes
and a week later, every city in America will be on fire

with a 'tip of the hat" to Tolstoy
A Tale of Two Cities

America in the 21st century has a lot in common with Dickens from the 19th century
the more things change, the more they remain the same
