can an older man find happiness in a platonic relationship with a younger woman?

my story thus far...
for those who don’t know me...

married 20 years to a Russian woman, and we had two children together who are now in college...

I’ve lived 3 years in Crimea, and currently have a house under construction south of Moscow, and a compound to the north east of San Jose Costa Rica, at about 4500 ft elevation
also houses in Houston and South Padre Island, Texas...

recently my wife had a serious accident and was nearly killed...
I don’t want to talk about this subject...
but instead about what happened after...

I had two really close friends, both Russians, one older male and one younger female
when the male Russian friend found out about my wife and called me, he got really drunk first and was very upset, and I found his behavior hard to deal with and not helpful

my female Russian friend OTOH, was very caring towards me and really talked me out of my deep depression that I was developing after my wife’s near death...
up until recently, today actually, my wife was REALLY pissed at me...
and so she wasn’t much of a comfort to me either...
even though I was not the person who directly caused her accident
my wife directs her anger at me

so, I started having long conversations with “Sana” on skype
and when I went to Costa Rica, she told me via skype that travel to Costa Rica was visa free for her...  so I asked her if she wanted to come to Costa Rica, and she said “da”
I sent her a first class ticket to San Jose, a long brutal flight with two stops...

she could see I was still feeling a bit down when we met, so she spent a lot of time cheering me up by getting me thinking about bizness
and by repeating all the adventures we’ve had together in Moscva

Aksana graduated with a degree in law from Moscow State Univ in 2018, she is 23 yr old
blond reddish hair, green eyes, about 5‘ 8“ and VERY pretty and VERY VERY smart
maybe the smartest woman I ever met, and one of the smartest people period
she speaks 3 languages at native proficiency level
and I’ve been polishing her English and German...

I hired her first as an intern and then a full time employee
who worked her way up into getting a “piece”
which REALLY gave her the “money burn”

her first job was doing research on Russian drug laws in relation to so called “designer drugs” but also chemicals that are “precursors” to drug manufacturing...
we needed the precise boundaries of what was legal and what was illegal under Russian law...

in addition to this, we also needed access to all court cases in Moscva involving this subject for the last 10 years...

we learned a lot from this, the who, the what, and I figured out a brand new how

when my Chinese chemist first saw Sana, he fell head over heels in love with her...
but she made a gagging sound whenever I mentioned his name...

I asked her to “take one for the team”
and for pity’s sake (and a bonus) she did
we made quite a trio in our strolls around various parts of Moscow
a weird lookin Asian dewd, a middle aged American, and a beautiful Russian blond

but Wu returned to China a while back...
my business with him concluded...
and sana wants to spend some time with me
as my friend
and I really enjoy her company

Sure!  It's completely normal to leave your wife at home and galavant across the continent with a woman who could be your granddaughter.  What could be more natural?

I suggest you let your wife know you are funding the young woman's trip, and wifey definitely. is. not. invited.

This post was composed without the aid of google.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

Why would you want to frustrate yourself like that?

My thoughts exactly.

The prettier she is, the happier you'll be. The best answer you'll receive from that question will come from your wife.

Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

I was reading bio on Mike Bloomberg.

One quote that showed up was from his then wife.

When she saw Mike eyeing a young woman, she said to him:

"That will be a very expensive piece of ass."

She was right and probably why Mike never married again. He's been single for 27 years now.

Being single doesn't always protect the person's wealth.
Most states (I think) recognize 'common law' marriages which come into effect after X years of living together if one of the parties wants to file the paperwork.

One of my brother's became a husband through such a procedure (initiated by his live in girlfriend), but he didn't disagree with it.  He was just too lazy to go through a ceremony, so when the gal said she was going to file, he just said:  Fine, do it.

In Mike's case, he has been with Diana Taylor (65 years old) since 2000.  She was and is a very successful professional and doesn't really need his money; although I am sure she wouldn't mind having ownership control over a few billion at least.

I looked it up and surprisingly, only 10 states recognize common law marriages and NY isn't one of them. So Mike can have his cake and eat it too.

I will answer my own question:

States that do recognize common law marriage include the following: Alabama, Colorado, District of Columbia, Georgia (if created prior to 1997), Idaho (if created before 1996), Iowa, Kansas, Montana, New Hampshire (for inheritance purposes only), Ohio (if created prior to 10/1991), Oklahoma, Pennsylvania (if created before 9/2003), Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Utah.

So if Mikey resides in the White House, he will have to be careful regarding Diana.

His two daughters may take a great interest in this situation.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

my whole family just went through a lot...
when my wife had her "accident", for the first 48 hours her prognosis was not good
and we all prepared for the worst, I literally could not eat or sleep I was in such mental distress and so were my kids

it felt like it hit the reset button on my life
I felt completely disassociated from my life then
like nothing in your life is "absolute", that it's all an illusion...and could disappear...

every time I go to Russia, I feel myself changing more and more into a completely different person,
who will ultimately end up living a completely different life there and with different people than I am living with now
the Russian government will even let me register my citizenship under a new name

I shall be both dead and alive
and walk in the shadows at night
until one day, I become one myself

This whole thing is weird AF

A member narrowly avoided being killed by a Russian hit man in a public place and his wife nearly died it the cross fire.

It would make international news, but it doesn’t even get a mention in Moscow. My Russian mate I went on holidays recently with has contacts with crime scene investigators in Moscow and they know nothing. The women I spent time with is from Moscow and she heard nothing in the news or on the grapevine, then you’re wanting to spend time with a young girl while your wife’s recovering????.... strange!!

Just as weird is it’s possibly been the biggest news and discussion worthy post ever on this site and it’s so quiet you can hear a whisper. Krims original post should be 10 pages long by now!!!. No one offered their sympathy and no one asked the obvious questions ....how is your wife, which cafe did it happen in, what was the reaction of people around the incident (did they come to her aid), Is she well enough to fly back to the US and where is the investigation up to, who do you think was responsible and why isn’t it mentioned in the news?. Is it being kept hush hush for some reason and why? and how did they contain multiple witnesses and news agencies?. I know if that happened to my partner, I would have told members all those details.

Are you sure you didn’t accidentally shoot your wife with your shotgun / flare gun you carry around in Russia, cover it up and that’s why she’s pissed?

a police report was never filed about my wife, there is also no record of her stay at various hospitals or rest care facilities
except for the charges to my credit cards

she is in full recovery now...
but blames me for everything...
she knows EXACTLY how I make my money and what the risks are
I just get the impression she wishes it was me and not her...

until recently, she didn't even want to talk to me...
I kinda assumed our future relationship would be in doubt...
but now she's slowly returning to "normal"...

my kids have been protected by my network
and in a few more months we can probably all return to living normally

I can totally see my life getting reset now, if not next year, the year after...
I will leave it in god's hands...
whatever fate he has decided for me
it was decided the moment I was born
and nothing I can do will ever change that

I see everything before me, so clearly now
at first, I was afraid
but now, I feel acceptance
seasons don't fear the reaper
and neither do I

I might not know how things are done in Russia personally, but my mate said it would have 100% been investigated by the police. First because ambulance officers would have called it in immediately to police, if witnesses hadn’t first. Secondly hospitals and doctors are required by law to inform police of victims of gunshot and knife wounds and lastly newspapers would have had reporters on the scene in minutes and there would have been many videos and pics posted on fb, VK etc..., so police would also know via social media. Also in his opinion, you and your wife’s citizenship would have make the incident a very high priority with doctors, and for the police... everything would be done by the letter of the law, even if bribes were paid. More so if they suspect a US and US / Ukrainian citizen has ties with criminal organisations or is a victims of these organisation.
,
I make my point again somethings weird AF about this incident.

What it didn’t happen in Russia? The laws are the same in all hospitals, a different location makes no difference.

I’ll happily publicly apologise if I’m wrong, but look at it from this perspective.

No person who has ever been involved with the mafia brags about it on the internet, even the run of the mill Bikie won’t do that. A public shooting of a US citizen nowadays makes the news headline all over the world,  especially a professional hit.. Social media would be flooded with pictures of both you and your wife in the aftermath. I’ve seen how security conscious Russia is. Within 10 minutes of the shooting that whole location would be shut down solid and be full of 100’s of police. There’s no way it wouldn’t have not been reported with a gunman on the loose, even in a small village and also you’ve been caught out with some little white lies before, well a whopper with the old GF with the smartphone.

I truly hope I get to apologise to you, because if this is a fabrication like the evidence suggests, it’s almost as bad as the young Aussie woman's claiming she had cancer when she was perfectly healthy.

ok...

you know how to play poker?
you want to make a bet that I am lying?
I will see your bet, and raise it, OK???

I am willing to provide photographic proof of what I am saying
however by accepting my bet...
since I have to "put up" an interesting photo of my life, if I do so...
then to counter my bet, or raise it, you will have to put a similar photo from your life...

these are my terms...

I'm not going to put up a photo of my wife with a bullet hole in her chest. Krim, it's hard for many here to believe the story that you're wanting to tell. If you can provide proof, it would help everyone believe everything you're saying. Or for entertainment value, put up more photos of Aksana

"I'm not going to put up a photo of my wife with a bullet hole in her chest. Krim,"

what makes ya think I would do such a thing pardner, cuz I wasn't
more than one way to illustrate the story...
and prove its veracity...

I want you to understand what a devil's bargain is, you either make the bargain or you don't...
don't ever ask me to give you something for nothing, because I NEVER do this

I said my conditions, if you want to see the truth of my life
then you must be willing to show me the truth of yours
this is my price
nothing for nothing

I don’t play poker and I don’t bet, all I want is as a newbie to be able to believe posts from senior members, and some of yours have proven to be misleading in the past or out right lies and this on face value seems like utter BS. Nothing makes sense, even to native born Russians who are calling you a liar.

I mean come on!!!.... a public cafe shooting by a hit man, with witnesses and no pictures or video was taken and posted on social media. Not one witness sold the pictures to the news papers or informed them or the police. The social grapevine in Russia which spreads gossip in minutes seemed to drop have dropped of the face of the earth that day for the first time in history. No police or ambulance were involved (my mate just told me that ambulance officers are required call the police in a shooting for their protection)..... get real mate, we all like to embellish a little for a good yarn, but even you have to admit your taking us for fools with this over the top story.

We are total strangers, so you don’t have to brag and make but BS to empress us. Give us basic facts and information in an easy to read manner and we will be far more impressed than constantly trying to figure out fact from fiction.

you make a LOT of completely false assumptions...

I am willing to PROVE IT PHOTOGRAPHICALLY, but my proof requires a price from you...
you will have to place a chip in the pot to see my hand
either way is up to you, either make the bet, or not make the bet

you want to see my hand, you have to be willing to show me yours
cuz that's how you play the game

however, if you want to take a pass, I understand

I don’t need to see your hand Krim, you’ve played it already. You played it months ago when you set up the beginning of this tall tale. Some of us knew this type of story was coming.

You showed your hand, because a guy who’s wife has been shot by a Russian Mafia hit man doesn’t write posts like you have since it happened and wouldn’t waste his time arguing with a total stranger online if it was fact. He wouldn’t have to prove anything to those who don’t matter. In fact he’d show his wife some respect and not even mention it online, just in case it did blow up into an international incident, which it is if true and why if it was true would have made the headlines around the world and wouldn’t be able to be kept quiet.

Photos aren’t proof with you Krim. I’m the past they have been fake and I wouldn’t want you to dress up your wife in bandages or anything stupid like that just to prove your point to strangers on the internet.
