Indeed, I don't do the list thing at all. To be honest, the way I would want to go about it wouldn't be methodical at all but by instinct and by the spirit. I find that one cannot box love into a particularly codified manner regardless of cultural aspects.

The chips fall down (la jeux sont faits) wherever they please and you can control what you expect but realizing that rationalism can determine the course of love would be like bridling horses gone wild. Which is why I find psych tests not to be very indicative of a RW's mental state of being.

I didn't think that her intention was to preform a psych test on him. The questions are not sophisticated enough glean anything so deep as a mental profiling. They seem to be simply a grouping of random words that beg for a response. Every woman that I have had a beginning relationship with has asked me what I think about something.

For example when I first met Lena she asked me. "I have two questions to you. What sort of movies do you like? What are five things (actions, traits, etc) that you could not tolerate in a mate?"

Whatever the questions are they must be important to her so my idea is to not treat them lightly but do put some thought into your responses.

It's my understanding that those who are drawn to psychology are so because they themselves have problems they are trying to solve. BTW my ex was a "psgologist" whose only skill in it would be helping people into a straight jacket and into padded cell.

Maxx

I worked summers in a mental hosp.  Maxx is spot on about this one in regards to Psychologists.  Most will even readily admit to you if you ask them if there is something wrong with them (at least the ones I knew).  On a side note I learned also to stay far away from social workers.  Most of them are addicted to drama and if they cant find it they create it.

only if you meet, the girl will you be able to tell if you are for each other.  On the Latin board, at one time, there was a posting  of about 50 questions that the men should  ask the girl.

If you could dig up that list Id like to look at it.  You got my curiousity going

There was lady from Moscow
Who psychoanalyzed my head to tail like she wanted to kowtow
Apparently submissive to a fault
Cuz she was the kinda gal who caused me to become a Scientiologist doing a somersault.

P_A, if that is supposed to be a limerick, you're way off the mark.

A limerick is a five-line poem written with one couplet and one triplet. If a couplet is a two-line rhymed poem, then a triplet would be a three-line rhymed poem. The rhyme pattern is a a b b a with lines 1, 2 and 5 containing 3 beats and rhyming, and lines 3 and 4 having two beats and rhyming. Some people say that the limerick was invented by soldiers returning from France to the Irish town of Limerick in the 1700's. Limericks are meant to be funny. (quote from http://volweb.utk.edu/school/bedford/harrisms/limerick.htm)

The only thing you got right is the rhyming scheme. Your meter is totally wrong, and the last requirement above is woefully unfulfilled. Go back to the writing board and use the following as an example to study (and a possible alternative to inflated earth globes ;)):

There was a young man from Belgrave
Who kept a dead whore in a cave.
He said "I admit,
I'm a bit of a sh!t,
But think of the money I save !"

Ooops, sorry about the meter. I guess that I kinda went free verse AWOL.

But I always thought that iambic pentameter was the preferred style of limerick writers?  ;D

Give her an honest answer, Alfie.  As I told you at dinner Tues night, you never get burned from knowing too much.  In my own search, I used to send the women I was corresponding with a group of 30 open ended questions at about the third letter.  It was great for narrowing the prospects down.  The scammers wouldn't answer the questions and of the rest, the nature of the answers told me alot about compatibility.  I saved a lot of money by not visiting the women I was incompatible with.

It is interesting that now the women are feeling confident and picky enough to start asking their own questions.  How times are a changin....

Hello there Russophile :),

I do agree there. It's not easily because I would probably ask the question spread out over the conversation rather than barraging her because I doubt that she would feel comfortable with feeling like it is an inquisition. :)

The term "psychological test" is perhaps misleading in this case. I am thinking that it's more like a "Get-To-Know-U-Better" type of approach which I don't mind. After all, I would be rather intimidated to date anyone who would be able to analyze my deepest secrets to a tee.

Spasiba, Alfie

PS. Good dinner, too.

Only in the central couplet, where you put a 10-footer and a 22-footer (very consistent with what you always thought >:(). And I can see NO TRACE of iambic pentameters in your hard-to-classify mess:

There was là-dy from Mòs-cow (incoherent EPTAmeter)
Who psychoanaly'zed my(me ?) head to tàil like she wàn-ted to kòw-tow (incoherent OCTODECAmeter)
A-ppa-rén-tly sub-mìss-ive to a fàult (inchoherent DECAmeter)
Cuz she wàs the kind-a gàl who caused mé to be-còme a Scien-t(i)ò-lo-gist doing a somer-sàult. (incoherent DUOEIKOSImeter)
Flà-ttery is the pòi-son of thòse who are decéi-ved by the cat's meòw. (incoherent HEXADECAmeter)

Anyway, you seem to miss the MAIN point, i.e. that "Limericks are meant to be funny", unless your sense of humour is so subtle and/or arcane to defy normal human detection. The last verse is supposed to be the punch-line, yours is another Chinese proverb ?

Spasiba, I doubt that I will try to court RW using verse. I would lose every time.

You win... I can't say that I'm necessarily a poet  :-[

That's within your PRIVATE area of behaviour, and you can do whatever you wish there.
