I have had a couple of FSU women tell me that FSU men are better boyfriends than American men, but that American men are better husbands than FSU men.

Albert, those two girls did not specifically mention GIFTS as part of their Italian "package", rather feeling the centre of attention, romanticism, etc. Typically, the average Italian man would give presents and gifts, but not up to his last dime.

I really hate to burst the bubble....

Women are Women the world over.....There are variations in all countries and cultures.

But we are women first..... and barefoot and "with child" will not get it!

This is the fairy tale that should have been read to us when we were little:

The best way to look at the whole FSU dating scene is this; Simply put, it opens up many more opportunities, and certaintly it presents many more woman that are more appreciative than their AW counterparts. Still, women are women, no matter where in the wolrd they may live. And with American TV shows beaming to almost every country in the world, much of the mystic has been lost. Personally, I like the adventure, and it can be done within a budget if you listen to otehrs than know the ropes, though there is no single way of doing it right. There are many possible combinations for success, and there is always a little luck thrown in too. It's all what you make it.

I believe that (unethical) agencies hype helped build the false hope, and many of us were the guinea pigs, while the (bad) agencies like Con Man Con got rich. Now it seems like we are in the middle of the fallout, and with many more American men checking out the FSU waters like sharks hunting for prey, there eventually won't be much left for the decent guys. Fortunately, there are always a few good ones looking for a good, decent and stable men. However, most of us now know, that it takes much work and some cash to score a good FSU woman (or find her), and handsome looks and a body that is maintained (no beer bellies allowed), to have a shot at the HOT FSU women. The question remains; Is it really worth the chase? I think like a few other guys have said on here; it's no picnic, but the playing field is a bit more level in the FSU countries, and no doubt, being older won't lose you as many points as it definitely would in the USA with American women.

I don't know much about the allure disappearing.  But you have to remember the points of view on here rarely converge.  I think one reason is there are two camps of RW seekers ( Yes I know its not a fine line).

One is the "trade up" types that want a better version of what they can get back home.  That is true for the most part of my experience.  Younger, better looking, more willing to have a real family etc.

The other is the type that wants an ethnic Russian woman because of unique qualities they possess.  That means things like culture, accent, what she cooks, some personality traits, views towards family and children and so on.  For me I'm in this camp, I would pursue a girl from Russia that would be the same age/looks wise as I can get in the US but possesses these unique qualities.  Would I take an uglier RW than AW?  Probably not.  Like any other man, I still want a good looking wife...especially since I can find those here.  But not a classy one (in my experience at least). 

I think for the guys in the 1st camp, things are changing and they are having to adjust their expectations a little after their 1st trip there.  For guys like me in the 2nd camp, one trip there and I'm hooked on RW.   And now marrying one is my next goal in life.
