Lonely guys looking for a suitable wife.  You are just guys cruisin' for chicks.  Hoping to find the "right" one.

Tim, Could you point out the posters that this applies too? If you get your head out of your ass, you might realize most every man who responded to LP is spoken for, not chasing RW and not a newbie. If you were a newbie, I'd expect that ignorance from you, but you've been around and should know better. People are not responding to LP's wisdom, they are responding to his personal insults. There's a big difference.

You may be the kind of guy that will smile happily while a guy puts down your wife, but most men react. Your wife is not going to respect you while she's being insulted along with your attitude that the insulter is correct in what he says about her. So, are you a wimp, do you think nobody has the right to question LP when he insults, or did you just happen to buy into LP's mind tricks after mass editing? If you don't understand what childish editing tricks he's playing, read my previous post. He may have gotten away with it elsewhere but this place will figure him out fairly quickly. Within 7 posts, we find out he's actually married to a RW, had many unpleasant exeriences with agencies and possibly blamed them for his lack of success, he associated with nothing but bad women and probably couldn't find a good woman if she stood in front of him, and he edits/erases most his posts hours after writing them. Without telling me to read 10 years of Planet Love, tell me why I should hold him in high regard? I think he gets his panties bunched up when he hears somebody had a pleasant experience with a good agency and found a good woman. Of course that can't be true to LP because it never happened to him based on his own experience. His experience is the only one that counts so he tells men that are happy they are full of sh!t and don't know what they're talking about and to top it off, guys like you, based on ignorance from lack of reading missing/altered posts, back him up.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Gator Geeeeeeeeeeez, I hope that was a mistake or typo.  Gotta say, I've read it backwards and forwards and all I can get out of it "As Written" is the Russian women don't have the brains or are not as sharp as American women.  If that was in fact what you meant, which again, I hope not, then that would be a lotta sh!te.

I/O

Try reading it a couple of more times I/O.   It made sense to me and to me it said that RW are smart enough to see through LP's crap and that is why he had such bad luck.   Let's face it, any woman who would hook up with LP would be making the biggest mistake of her life.

This strikes me as a little bit of chest-beating.

I've never met LP, nor his wife, nor you, nor your fiancee.  Nor have you met LP or his wife.  So, you're hardly in a position to say what kind of husband he would make.

My guess about LP is that he's not as cantankerous in person as he is on the internet.  Like I said, I've never met him, I don't know.  However, you're exhibiting the same characteristic as him: painting with a broad brush and assuming things that are not in evidence.

Thanks for the comment TwoBit,

Well, my first sentence said that I saw the same thing in the referenced post that the writer intended.

My second sentence explained what that poster was trying to say.

My third sentence just said that I thought LP did not have the qualities to make a good husband.   Just like the first guy in the video that Bruno posted LP seems to have a lot of weaknesses to overcome.  You are right though, I don't know LP at all and should not be judging him.     I can't see where anything I said could come off as chest beating but if it does, I apologize.

You are correct, I don't know anything about LP.  He just sort of came in here with his guns blazing about what losers we all are and RW being barely one step better than a piece of $hit and got off on the wrong foot with me.   I just happen to have a lot of respect for the people here and for Russian women, if that is a bad thing I won't apologize for it, I will just live with the fault.

Guess we ought to stretch the canvas, rope it off and get ready to RWuuuumble...!

Gloves anyone?

I have never seen LP's posts except those here.  Don't know the guy and likely never will.

If someone I knew came out and said what he said I *might* be very slightly offended if what was said was directed at me or my wife.

Being that this is obviously not the case with his posts here, I wouldn't even think about taking it personally as some around here seem to.

Ok.. the guy has a beef with guys chasing RW via agencies or whatever, totally clueless about what is really involved, simply set on 'getting me one too' while struggling through a passport application.  Maybe why I somehow like his opin is that in general terms, without pointing fingers at anyone here what he says is quite true and IMHO reflects a few things I have expressed here albeit in a more diplomatic fashion.

The counter arguments presented to LP's posts are quite slim in substance, high in emotion and not dissimilar to PG's reactions to posts of some of the hardliners around in his famous threads.  An opinion however expressed is still an opinion.. learn to take it or leave it.

Now don't start that PC is good and ol' men at the pickle barrel talk.  Everyone knows the best pickles are at the bottom of the barrel .. maybe that's why I'm sitting here enjoying y'all getting a good fill of those at the top so that I can enjoy those few good ones that occasionally float up from the bottom... can't eat too many of those though or will get stomach upset.. simply too spicy for main course fare.

BC,
You are married and continue to post at RWD.  We single men appreciate the insights of married men, and you do us a favor.  In one of LP's posts, he made derogatory comments about married men who continue to post.   He insulted you and all other married RWD members.   I just searched for his comment to quote it; however, he deleted it when he edited his post a day or so later.

I/O,
For sure RW have brains, and based on my experience their mean IQ exceeds that of AW.   Yet, RW can be deceived in a short romance - just as some fairly smart AM have been deceived by some bad RW.  A man who hates women, disrespects them, and does not trust them can still deceptively charm his way into a woman's heart in the fog created by a language and cultural difference.  The AW, however, can read LP in a short period.  I get on the Internet during my trip about every other day for an hour, so I have no time to expand.

No need to expand, I can see what you are driving at now with the fog of language thing.

Yeah Gator, I remember reading something along those lines and also between them.  Sometimes I even wonder what keeps me around.  Is it have/have not ego? Is it entertainment? Is it truly helping others? Am I looking for a cruch? Is it procrastination?.. If LP was such a prolific poster over many years he probably asked himself these same and many more questions.  Maybe he figured it out for himself and his needs.  Maybe he simply flamed out and figured he'd concentrate on his own maintenance needs.  Whatever.. it's ok.

Maybe from his POV he is simply saying something to the effect that once you are married, get on with your lives instead of swelling of success and dwelling in the uniqueness of the relationship here.  If so, he may have a good point.  I have noticed that with every year that passes the 'unique' part starts wearing off dramatically, leaving a quite 'normal' relationship.

Maybe it's a phase.. I dunno... yet, but at least I'm thinking about it.

Sure got the attention of the married guys though.. was that his point?

In any case, no, for some reason I do not feel insulted..

Maybe "D - All of the above"  ;D

Part of it (for me) is that when I first came to these boards my thinking was probably pretty close to dead stupid in the how, who, where, what, when of international relationships. I do feel an obligation to give back to the community that slapped me straight and kept me from buying into the hype. After a while here there is a sense of familiarity, of friendship, and yes, of entertainment. The best part is when I see a post that sets off a clue for me and I can learn something new.

I kind of relate RWD to to the TV show Cheers. It's a place to hang out, shoot the breeze (and the occasional idiot) with your buds, help out on occasion, laugh at that guy at the end of the bar that has had several too many and is hitting on the waitress, and to shake my head quite often at the type of thinking/behavior shown my some folks.

Elena is kind enough to tolerate my spending some time here in the backyard sandbox with the other neighborhood children so I thank her for her patience and understanding with my frivilous hobby.

It's kind of like that old Nintendo game Duckhunt...  ;D

If the newbie survives long enough he gets his own toy gun too!
